U.K. citizens are up in arms about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's shocking announcement that they will take a backseat from their "senior member" status of the royal family to work independently. But instead of wanting the couple to keep the current structure the same, many are calling on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relinquish their titles entirely. Norman Baker, a former Liberal Democrat member of parliament and home office minister in the coalition government, sounded off on the couple's 2020 plans to partially support the queen while simultaneously having financial independence.

These two are NOT popular. One poster compared Meghan to Diana. Pathetic. We all remember that Diana was revered by the people of the UK. The mourning after her untimely death was a huge outpouring. Brits we know blamed Charles and Camilla for destroying her young life.

Meghan honestly believed that she was going to be the second coming of Diana -- totally beloved of the British people. She thought she would marry Harry, and would be the new model of a "feminist princess". I think she even believed she would be more beloved than Kate, and the British people would demand that she would be queen one day. Totally delusional!!!!
Instead, she was seen as a pushy, obnoxious American (with all the bad connotations of that stereotype to people outside of the USA). Instead of appreciating all the perks that come with playing the "royals" game, she bucked traditional at every turn. While the American lie-beral media loves her for her feisty femi-Nazi actions and words, the British really don't like her at all. Now she wants to run away back to North America, and Harry has no choice but to go with her.
I honestly believe that Harry blamed the rest of the royal family for his mother's death, and marrying Meghan was his way of getting some revenge on them. He is now paying the price for that idiocy!!! He should have gotten psychiatric treatment instead of marrying Meghan. It would have cost him a lot less in the long run!!!!!

They better not expect the royal treatment from US taxpayers. We don't do royalty here. The dems' stealth from US doesn't count.

This is what he gets for marrying a low rent mudblood. Next to Kate, Meghan is a boy. And Meghan knows it.

Such an irrelevant discussion. We got rid of the royals in 1776, and don't really need to hear from them any more. Harry chose very poorly, this is the outcome.
Life is all about choices.

In about five years - maybe less - ol' Harry will wake up and realize how badly he screwed the pooch. It will be interesting to see how he tries to get back in the good graces of his family after this.

Diana has been dead for over 20 years. I never was a fan of her. I couldn't care a bit when she died. Screwed up the entire Labor day weekend with all the sappy coverage. And I care even less about her two sons, although William and his wife seem to have their heads screwed on relatively right.

#6- Is the glass half empty or half full? Worthy of posting, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. At times a diversion from politics may be not only appealing, but necessary.
The death of Princess Diana had a profound impact on young Prince William (age 15) and Prince Harry (13). Their profound sorrow as they walked in the funeral cortege of their mother was heart-wrenching and generated empathy for them to the point of having an interest in their well-being to this day—wanting them to find peace within themselves and happiness.
The current situation surrounding Prince Harry is sad, as well as exasperating, because of the humanitarian aura of protectiveness for the two young princes that began 22 years ago. Whether Prince Harry was vulnerable and followed a path leading him to this current plight, or a willing participant, the decision and the manner in which it was announced is unfortunate as well as offensive—to the royal family as well as to the people having embraced the two young princes in 1997.

Prince Harry must have listened to this song to many times and was brainwashed by sex.
When a man loves a woman,
Can't keep his mind on nothin' else,
He'd change the world for the good thing he's found.
If she is bad, he can't see it,
She can do no wrong,
Turn his back on his best friend if he put her down.
When a man loves a woman,
He'll spend his very last dime Tryin' to hold on to what he needs.
He'd give up all his comforts And sleep out in the rain,
If she said that's the way It ought to be.

Ah Harry, you are servants of the People. Not working for England, no money, no title. Think what this will do to tourism./s
She will blow thru his inheritance like a turbine.
The Queen must be some kind of mad about them announcing this to the world first. BTW Harry, you are not her favorite anymore.

I have never seen anyone with a brain compare Diana to Meghan nor Kate either! Some of the press situations are similar. As my UK relatives say, the citizens will go with who their headlines say to hate. They are very different than we are.
I think they should give up titles too. They cannot have it both ways. By the way,
I think Meghan feels Canada is really home.

Megxit obviously is a disaster for Harry. I do not think this is going to end well for Harry or the "happy" couple. Me thinks Meghan is too woke for the royals.

A bit of “tough love” coming from U.K. citizens? As the former member of parliament said, “You can’t be one foot in, one foot out ... You are either a member of the royal family or you are not.” As the old adage goes, “You can’t eat your cake, and have it too.”
