Finally! A political figure, rising star Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas, has challenged the false premise that there was anything wrong with President Trump asking for Ukrainian help in an investigation of corruption in the 2016 election undertaken by Joe Biden. Just because it would potentially help discredit a potential political opponent is no reason to override the public benefit from investigating corruption.
For some reason, no other national politician has bothered making this point. Crenshaw did so yesterday on CNN, and faced intense opposition from CNN’s Chris Cuomo:

National Security Council (NSC) official Alexander Vindman showed up to testify Tuesday as part of the Democrats’ closed-door impeachment inquiry into President Trump in full military uniform.
This is despite not wearing one to work every day at the NSC, according to several sources.
Although Vindman is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, he is serving an assignment at the NSC as the director for European Affairs. According to sources at the NSC, Vindman does not wear his uniform to work at the NSC, where the standard dress is business wear.

A woman accused of setting multiple fires on the campus of St. Catherine University has been found incompetent by a judge.
Court records show 21-year-old Tnuza Jamal Hassan was ruled incompetent in Ramsey County court on Tuesday. She pleaded not guilty to first-degree arson in April.
Investigators say Hassan set several fires in buildings across the St. Kate's campus in St. Paul in January 2018.
Matthias Ajple clearly has some issues. Not to mention a problem with basic facts. House Democratic leaders are walking back a planned vote Thursday that would officially endorse impeachment proceedings and say that the resolution would merely address the process of holding public hearings on the matter.

Washington Post columnist Max Boot on Monday suggested ISIS founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi did not die like a “coward” as President Trump described on Sunday, arguing that the president’s assertion is “contradicted by the fact that rather than be captured, he blew himself up.”
Boot, who is both a Post columnist and CNN analyst, wrote in a column on Monday that Trump turned al-Baghdadi’s death into another “risible spectacle.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Monday that a decision by Democrats to hold a vote on the impeachment inquiry against President Trump later this week shows the process was “botched from the start.”
“It’s been 34 days since Nancy Pelosi unilaterally declared her impeachment inquiry,” the California Republican wrote in a tweet. “Today’s backtracking is an admission that this process has been botched from the start.”
