Eric Trump vowed that the Trump Organization will take legal action against MSNBC and Lawrence O'Donnell after the left-leaning host aired a singled-sourced, unverified report that President Trump had loans co-signed by Russian oligarchs. "This was a reckless attempt to slander our family and smear a great company. Apologies are not enough when the true intent was solely to damage and cause harm. As a company, we will be taking legal action. This unethical behavior has to stop. @Lawrence @MSNBC," Eric Trump tweeted Wednesday night.

As we head into the long Labor Day weekend, here are two tips to make your holiday even more cheerful. First: Remember to watch out for drunk driving illegal aliens! Exactly 11 years ago today, then-Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain put out a video congratulating then-Sen. An interesting article in the South China Morning Post outlines how Chinese companies producing everything from canned mandarin oranges, to mid and high-tier furniture, cannot sustain a business model without access to the U.S. market.
Their problem?…
In essence, when they established their decades-old business model the overwhelming majority of their manufacturing was/is contingent on U.S. buyers.
Right now those Chinese companies are praying the CCP central government keeps devaluing their currency, because U.S. purchasers, including wholesalers and intermediaries, have told those manufacturers they will not pay the import duties.
Apparently, U.S. corporate buyers are leveraging the pressure applied by President Trump – a remarkable dynamic.

Internal British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn was developing a plan to stop the U.K from leaving the European Union through legislation aimed at blocking any Brexit without a pre-existing deal. Additionally, Corbyn was proposing calling a vote of ‘no confidence’ in a scheme aimed at weakening Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s no-deal brexit.
To thwart that opposition plan, PM Boris Johnson asked Queen Elizabeth to suspend Parliament, thereby cancelling the legislative time Corbyn would have to form his anti-Brexit law and scheme. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II agreed to suspend Parliament.

In traditional political terms, there is always an alternate agenda to an incumbent president’s that reasonable voters can debate. In Trump’s case, two massive annual budget deficits — coming on top of the previous two administrations that doubled the national debt — seem fair game. No president for the past 19 years has sought to offer any remotely sane budget. And with still relatively low interest rates, massive federal spending, a $22 trillion national debt, and an annual deficit of nearly $1 trillion, it is hard to imagine, in extremis, that there remains any notion of “stimulus” or “pump-priming” left.

BRANDON — Dale Inman tried to run.
It didn’t matter that a Hillsborough County detective flashed his badge, Inman wasn’t stopping.
He abandoned the generator and power washer he had just stolen and tore out of the Home Depot on E. Adamo Drive. He made it through the special exit for contractors and into the parking lot, where his partner waited in a getaway car.
But detective Philip Merkle wasn’t alone. Officers who’d been hiding in unmarked cars shouted: “Stop! Sheriff’s Office.” Surrounded, Inman eased to the pavement. His arms began to flail before deputies could cuff him. His body shook and seized.
“What’s wrong?” Merkle called down.
Inman couldn’t answer.

As a crowd of nearly 250,000 people gathered outside the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke these historic words: "I have a dream." That was today in 1963. His pivotal speech not only helped bring the Civil Rights Movement even more to the forefront, it also pressured Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act, which they did the following year.
The March on Washington was a revolutionary event at the time. People came from all over the country to attend, with one boy—Robert Avery, who was just 15 years old—hitchhiking almost 700 miles from Alabama to reach Washington.

Why does most of Africa stay poor while other parts of the world prosper?
People blame things like climate, the history of colonialism, racism, etc.
But I say Senegalese businesswoman Magatte Wade gives the right explanation: too many rules.
"Once you hire someone, good luck getting rid of them for any reason," Wade complains. Her government must approve every firing.
"Then the tax code is so complicated... worth at least two or three truckloads of paper."
Wade started a lip balm company. Some of her ingredients are not made in Senegal, so she imports them. To "protect" Senegalese manufacturers, the government makes importing ingredients expensive.

A decade ago, single payer health care—the government-run health care system that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I–Vt.) refers to as Medicare for All—was a fringe idea in the Democratic Party. 2016 really is the deepest GOP field in a very, very long time. In fact, it isn’t even close.” — Sean Trende, RealClearPolitics, Jan. 29, 2015
Five U.S. senators, a former cabinet secretary, a visionary tech entrepreneur, a polyglot mayor-soldier-intellectual, and a crusading former congressman will be on the stage for the third Democratic presidential debate, hosted by ABC on September 12 in Houston. Add to that a former vice president. Is the Democratic field as strong as it appears? Or is it as weak as the Republican field of 2016 when an outsider thundered onstage and wiped all Republicans away? A fair estimation leads me to think the latter.

ouTube on Monday banned three more independent commentators: James Allsup, “The Iconoclast,” and “Way of the World.” Their crime? Outspoken defense of Western Civilization, which apparently now is considered “hate speech.” Taken together, the videos posted by these three commentators had been watched more than 100 million times.
The most prominent of the newly banished, James Allsup, had over 450,000 subscribers. Thanks to this latest move by YouTube, America’s de facto Ministry of Truth, nearly a half-million Americans now have less reason than ever to believe their First Amendment rights will be respected, or, by extension, any of their constitutional rights.

The street preachers posted just outside the main gate of the Minnesota State Fair are relatively mild in their condemnation. Yes, their yells strongly suggest the tens of thousands who stream past in pursuit of funnel cake and Pronto Pups are headed as certainly to hell as to indigestion, but they do consistently allow the possibility of salvation.
It's a Minnesota Nice touch to the standard hellfire and brimstone, as is only right at the "Great Minnesota Get-Together," the largest state fair in the nation by daily attendance.

Rep. Ilhan Omar's mysterious marital life has been much written about. Was she a bigamist? Was she married to her brother? It's unclear, but not unlikely. At a minimum, she seems to be playing musical husbands -- or is it lovers? The latest seems to be this fellow:
A Washington, DC, mom says her political-consultant husband left her for Rep. Ilhan Omar, according to a bombshell divorce filing obtained by The Post.
Dr. Beth Mynett says her cheating spouse, Tim Mynett, told her in April that he was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative — and that he even made a “shocking declaration of love” for the Minnesota congresswoman

What started out as a confrontation over Victor Sojos-Valladares's snooping through a woman's iPhone quickly escalated to the previously deported illegal immigrant attacking and choking her until the point o passing out, according to the East Hampton, New York victim.
Sojos-Valladares has a sordid history in the Hamptons, including being arrested for sexual assault and burglary on two separate occasions. President Trump's latest foray into the world of international economics -- his ongoing trade war with China -- has been widely derided by his critics. It's been derided on the grounds that there is no long-term strategy; on the grounds that the trade war will not be, as Trump has bragged, "good and easy to win"; on the grounds that Trump continues to send mixed signals, simultaneously claiming that China is bearing the brunt of his tariffs while desperately urging Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to lower interest rates.
Now, Trump's trade policy may not be well-considered

Over the last few weeks, we've been exploring the competing narratives about the US economy -- with the White House insisting that all is well, as many in the media hype up the possibility of a coming recession. My general conclusion at this point has been that while there are some soft spots and genuine warning signs, the economy's fundamentals remain quite strong. Unemployment has been quite low, the job market has been quite robust, and wage growth has broken free from years of frustrating stagnation. We also recently received positive news on other indicators, including productivity, retail sales, and overall consumer spending:

Queen Elizabeth II has formally approved Boris Johnson's request to temporarily suspend Parliament, a move that will largely prevent lawmakers from pushing through new legislation and ultimately sabotaging the prospect of a no-deal Brexit.
In a letter to lawmakers released Wednesday, the prime minister said he "spoke to Her Majesty The Queen to request an end to the current parliamentary session."
He said an integral feature to the legislative program will be the introduction of a bill to leave the European Union and "to secure its passage" before Oct. 31. Hours later, the queen approved the request, suspending Parliament from mid-September to Oct. 14.

A new national poll shows nearly four in 10 Americans say they’d have little or no confidence that next year’s presidential election was conducted fairly if the candidate they back ended up losing.
That’s the sobering finding in a new Suffolk University Poll for USA Today that was released on Wednesday.
The deep concerns about the legitimacy of the 2020 election crossed party lines – with 45 percent of Democrats and 30 percent of Republicans indicating they’d have serious questions about the legitimacy of the victory regardless of the winner.
Among their top concerns – voter suppression, voter fraud, foreign interference in the election,

Facebook has revealed new rules for political ads in the US, hoping to stop misbehaviour ahead of the 2020 election.
The company will force organisations to disclose details of who they are if they are before posting ads on Facebook or Instagram, it says.
It is just the latest in a series of attempts by Facebook to stop its platform being abused to influence elections. But many of those efforts have been criticised as ineffectual or miscalculated.
In the latest change, Facebook is introducing a "confirmed organisation" label for U.S. political advertisers who show government-issued credentials to demonstrate their legitimacy.

The U.S. Navy shut down its Task Force Climate Change (TFCC), which was established by President Barack Obama in 2009, reported E&E News' Greenwire.
The closure was quiet and occurred in March, according to Greenwire, and "the group's tab on the Navy's energy, environment and climate change website was removed sometime between March and July."
The purpose of the TFCC was to evaluate how climate change affects or could affect Naval and national security operations. Retired Navy Rear Admiral Jon White, who ran the TFCC under the Obama administration from 2012 to 2015, said the shut down was "suspicious."
"It was a very quiet canceling of the task force," he told E&E News.

In the midst of the daily tarring and feathering of President Trump by our "objective" press, we are treated to some precious moments where these badly disguised political operatives write something unintentionally hilarious.
Take, for example, The New York Times story on Aug. 25 headlined "Trump's Allies Scour Internet to Punish Press." Reporters Ken Vogel and Jeremy Peters ominously warned, "A loose network of conservative operatives allied with the White House is pursuing what they say will be an aggressive operation to discredit news organizations deemed hostile to President Trump by publicizing damaging information about journalists."

He intends, you see, to "invest" a great deal of money.
Of course, unlike a billionaire entrepreneur, Sanders won't be investing his own money. He will be "investing" yours.
Nor does Sanders intend to be a mere retailer. He is promising to make "massive investments" in a "Green New Deal" that will result in "a wholesale transformation of our society."

According to a letter from Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard of California, ICE would gain $155 million. The funds would not only be taken from FEMA, NBC News is reporting, but also, from the U.S. Coast Guard.

What is it about the left that fails to understand that painting cops as racists has consequences?
In the wake of the firing of a police officer over the death of black cigarette street seller Eric Garner, New York's police are focused now on just playing it safe.
According to Fox News, citing a report in the New York Post:
The firing of NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who was involved in the fatal arrest of Eric Garner in 2014, appears to have already had an effect on the Big Apple, with the number of arrests dropping sharply compared to 2018 and cops warning of plummeting morale among New York City's finest.

As New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin recently pointed out, rampant bias in news coverage at the direction of the paper’s leadership has swept away the “Gray Lady’s” position as a bastion of journalism. And the paper doesn’t seem to care.
Media bias, however unprofessional, is to be expected in the Trump era. Many grand ideological narratives of the present moment proclaim some tectonic collision between “nationalism” and “liberalism.” One of the things that have made this battle so hard to follow (and perhaps even so vitriolic) is that there seems to be a lack of common agreement about what these terms even mean.
Take “nationalism.” Many of the folks affiliated with the Niskanen Center are pretty staunch in their anti-“nationalist” sentiments, but what exactly constitutes “nationalism” is up for grabs. Sen. Bernie Sanders has said publicly that he doesn’t believe government should own the means of production. Yet he appears on national television last week and agrees there should be a “federal takeover” of the energy sector. His Marxist slip is showing.

Military researchers have developed a material that can self-destruct instantaneously, offering a way to send equipment into enemy territory without leaving a trace.
The material is a special type of polymer that disintegrates after reaching a "ceiling temperature." Unlike biodegradable plastics, which take a long time to dissolve, the polymer can break down in as little as five minutes when exposed directly to sunlight.
Dr. Paul Kohl and his team developed the polymer for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, which wants to use it to deploy electronic sensors and deliver supplies into hostile areas. It has already been made into a 10-pound rigid glider

Thousands of would-be illegal immigrants are being returned to await asylum hearings in Mexico as part of a program the Trump administration has credited with curbing the recent wave of family migration at the southwestern border.
The Migrant Protection Protocols—more colloquially known as the "Remain in Mexico" policy—are regulations issued by former secretary of homeland security Kirstjen Nielsen in December 2018. Under the MPP, a subset of individuals who claim to be seeking asylum after being apprehended at the border now must await the results of their immigration court hearings in Mexico, rather than being detained—or, more often, released on their own recognizance—in the United States.

Despite President Emmanuel Macron’s effort to push climate change to the front of the discussion during the recently concluded G-7 meeting in France, the confab ended without a concrete agreement to take action on the issue.
Some of the blame was laid at the feet of President Donald Trump, who was “a no-show at a crucial session on climate change” today. While blaming Trump for the lack of progress on climate change might make for a good headline, the broader story is more complex. Indeed, a look at the numbers shows that the U.S. has slashed its coal use and cut its total greenhouse emissions

Want to write a puff piece about the fake Indian, Elizabeth Warren?
Take a ticket!
It used to be that the Boston Globe practically had a monopoly on slobbering, unctuous flattery of the erstwhile Native American, the first woman of color at Harvard, emeritus.
It wasn’t enough for the Boring Broadsheet to pretend that the New England Historical and Genealogical Society hadn’t busted her melanin-impaired grift, or to peddle fake statistics about her scam DNA test. No, the bow-tied bumkissers also penned hagiographies of her dead dog (Otis), her new dog (Bailey) and her campaign headquarters in Charlestown (complete with a cameo appearance by Bailey).
But the Globe is one busy

Robert Wilkie, the soft-spoken and managerial-minded secretary of Veterans Affairs, went public in a big way this summer when he said he refused to be “bullied” by a federal lawsuit claiming a Bible on display at a New Hampshire VA hospital violated the separation of church and state.
In an interview with The Washington Times in his office at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Mr. Wilkie said displaying a Bible in a VA hospital is a matter of liberty and that the Obama administration erred in trying to eliminate religious symbols from the veterans health care system.
“The last administration … had a very ahistoric approach [to veterans],”

David Koch, one of the two celebrated Koch brothers known to millions of Americans who follow the news, passed away last Friday. He was 79.
Now there is only one Koch brother to appear in the news. Yet, the name Koch will be around for years. One sees the name frequently when business is being discussed, in discussions of the arts, in discussions of politics, particularly libertarian politics.
Does anyone stop to wonder why the name Koch appears so frequently in the news? Well, I have had some experience with the Kochs and I have an insight into the frequency with which one encounters their name. It is because the Kochs

My sources first made me aware of Ilhan Omar’s affair with Tim Mynett a month before the Daily Mail got around to reporting it in July. Today the Star Tribune has finally broken the story in Omar’s hometown newspaper and it must come as something of a shock to readers who get their news from the Minnesota media and who take Omar at face value. Omar continues to play them all for chumps. The lies she is living are too many to count, beginning with the identity fraud implicit in her claim to be Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.
Coincidentally, Omar was scheduled to sit for an interview

This week’s widespread media blitz heralding Netflix’s broadcast of its first Obama-endorsed presentation, “American Factory,” was more than synchronicity. It felt as though US publicists and journalists collectively exhaled their relief at finally regaining the bully pulpit.
Reviews of “American Factory,” a doc by indie veterans Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, were not reliable accounts of the film’s quality. Its lack of focus following a Chinese manufacturer’s takeover of a former General Motors plant in Ohio — a move that fails to relieve working-class anxieties but, instead, predicts job-market doom — didn’t faze flacks and reviewers. The media class saw Reichert and Bognar’s facile, generalized survey

A former Google engineer spent months downloading Google’s secret files on self-driving cars before he abruptly quit the company in 2016 to run Uber's autonomous vehicle program, federal prosecutors alleged on Tuesday. The engineer, Anthony Levandowski, has been charged with 33 counts of stealing trade secrets.
U.S. Attorney David Anderson said that a forensic investigation revealed that Levandowski downloaded around 14,000 files belonging to Google on or around Dec. 11, 2015, and that he later transferred those and other files to his personal laptop and then gave them to Uber.
The files included critical engineering information, schematics and engineering drawings related to Google’s self-driving vehicle program,

I confess that this story shocks me.
The New York Times reported yesterday that “Federal prosecutors in Washington appear to be in the final stages of deciding whether to seek an indictment of Andrew G. McCabe, the former deputy F.B.I. director and a frequent target of President Trump, on charges of lying to federal agents.” Reporter Adam Goldman declares that,
In two meetings last week, Mr. McCabe’s lawyers met with the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen, who is expected to be involved in the decision about whether to prosecute, and for more than an hour with the United States attorney

Family members claim the girl's mother, father and stepfather acted in self-defense after they found the 17-year-old boy in their daughter's bedroom closet.
But the teen said the adults tied him up with rope, assaulted him and called him slurs in a racially motivated attack.
The parents are now charged with a hate crime and other felony offenses including kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats, according to police in the northern California town of San Bruno.
