Terminal 1 at LAX was evacuated early Thursday due to residual problems from a major power outage that lasted for nearly four hours Wednesday night. Terminal 1, home to Southwest Airlines, was evacuated just before 6 a.m. due to problems with passengers and baggage not being properly rescreened. Airport officials decided Thursday to clear the terminal and rescreen all passengers by the TSA. Officials said LAX Airport police had to clear the terminal before all guests could be rescreened, a process they estimated would take an hour. In the meantime, all arriving passengers coming in to Terminal 1 were being held on their planes until rescreening resumes.
More than 200 workers on Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign, including 36 in New Hampshire, have agreed to unionize and designate a Manchester union local to represent them.

Not all conservatives are culture warriors. Many just crave less government and more control over their lives.

Former Congressman and current Democratic presidential hopeful Beto O'Rourke has laid out a plan he says would help the country "realize the full potential of our democracy." O'Rourke's campaign says the "Voting Rights and Democracy Reform Plan" could increase registration by 50 million voters and turn 35 million additional voters to the polls by 2024.
O'Rourke's plan is built around three parts.
One would focus on increasing voter turnout. The plan would allow same-day voter registration. Twenty states and Washington DC allow same-day registration now. Sixteen and 17 year olds would be automatically pre-registered.
President Donald Trump has announced that he will impose a 5 percent tariff on goods imported from Mexico on June 10, 2019, unless Mexico takes effective action before then to dramatically reduce the number of Central American migrants crossing its territory to reach the United States. I’m not too concerned about the costs that such a tariff would impose on U.S. businesses and consumers (which would be real), because the costs would be worth it if the tactic were actually to work. I’m skeptical it will, since Mexico always has a chip on its shoulder with regard to us. But recent signs suggest I might be pleasantly surprised. Here’s hoping. A Virginia-based law firm sued Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey Monday for using attorneys financed by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to engage in a climate crusade against Exxon Mobil.
Government Accountability & Oversight (GAO) filed the lawsuit against Healey for using two privately funded attorneys to focus on prosecuting oil and gas companies. Pelosi's remarks came in a meeting on Tuesday with top House Democrats, including Judiciary Committee chair Jerrold Nadler, who is aggressively pushing for impeachment, Politico reported.
'I don't want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,' Pelosi said in the closed-door meeting, multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting told the outlet.
Pelosi, who fears political disaster if impeachment proceedings are launched without broad public support, argued that it would be better to see Trump defeated in the next election and then criminally prosecuted as a private citizen.
