Delta Air Lines is punishing Congress for failing to fund the Department of Homeland Security.
The airline company has temporarily yanked its special congressional desk service to lawmakers and staffers on Capitol Hill until Congress finally funds the DHS, which has been in a partial shutdown since Feb. 28.
“Due to the impact on resources from the longstanding government shutdown, Delta will temporarily suspend specialty services to members of Congress flying Delta,” the company said in a statement first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Next to safety, Delta’s No. 1 priority is taking care of our people and customers, which has become increasingly difficult in the current environment.”

A better option: Fake them all out with great seats and smiles, then Load them into large cages for their ride in the Pet Section of the aircraft. IF they want to act like out of control animals, so be it!

#2, I remember awhile back that Congress members were wanting to do something about the monies and rewards customers get from credit cards. Hopefully, Congress members will realize how many freebies they get. . .

All airlines should do the same. Once Members of Congress started standing in those long lines at airports, it would not be long before all the relating leftist Democrat BS over the relating issues in Congress would come to a screeching halt!

As if the Congress Creature do not get enough perks.
Delta and all airlines should treat these Government teat suckers just like they treat everyone else.

You might think you are getting rewards and perks from credit card companies, but if you follow the money, the consumer is paying for those rewards and perks.,
As for the Congress Critters, if they are Public Servants, why are they all treated better than the people they pretend to serve?
Kudos to Delta!

At the very least, keep those perks off the table for same number of days of the shutdown. Play catch-up when funding returns.

Thank you, Delta, but could you also put them at the end of the line and make sure they are the last to enter the plane?

It would be better for we the people if those who were elected using our money got the same perks and rewards that we get. Why do they deserve anything better? They put their pants on the same way we do every morning.

About time that members of Congress stopped getting treated like a bunch of kings and queens at airports. Make them wait in line to check in, go through security, and wait in crowded waiting areas with thre rest of the traveling public. Hopefully they will get an earful of the public disdain that they deserve.

The airlines have a measure of power over the politicians, this is a good first step. I hope the other airlines follow suit and I hope they ratchet up the pressure if the funding does not appear soon. Make them live in the world they have created. I eagerly await the wailing and screaming of the first politician who is in a hurry to make his flight, but is last in a very long line of customers.

What could possibly happen when the Congresscritters have to stand on line with their constituents? Delta and all airlines should make that a permanent thing....make them wait like the rest of us animals on the farm.

#18. No doubt the vast majority of potential future Delta passengers would be very happy indeed once they know that their Delta flight will be free of bloodsucking congressional politicians.

"Do you know who I am?"
As I recall, Jane Fonda tried to use the same line at a restaurant when she didn't want to stand in line like the 'little people" at a popular eatery. The owner blistered her and told her that he knew who she was and said she could stand in line with the other customers or leave.. IIRC, he was a Vietnam vet or sympathized with the soldiers and was having none of her arrogance.

Well if this doesn't highlight to the masses who is responsible for making flying painful. It goes a long way to counter all the lies the Enemedia are telling people. Maybe some who still watch the Enemedia will catch a clue and put two and two together and not watch Liars Inc. any more.
Otoh, another option would be for the airlines to instead give ALL members of Congress a full body cavity search when they fly seeing how Congress loves to ream everyone else!

Bonus is that ICE will be involved with airport security since they are assisting TSA. Can wait until the Democrats get to be screened by ICE agents and unpaid TSA agents.

Let's make the Delta plan industry wide and permanent.
In doing do, citizens would immediately have a seat - and a vote - at the negotiating table in Congress to end the TSA shutdown.
What Democrat senator or representative wants to stand in line for hours surrounded by angry voters?
I can't think of a better, no cost tool, that will motivate Democrats to quickly end this nightmare forever.

- Members of Congress never have to live like the proles they pass laws for. Good for Delta.
When this is settled, the TSA will have to scour the Los Angeles sidewalks for the agents' replacements.
