Jeffries: ICE Will Potentially ‘Brutalize,’

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at airports could “brutalize” or “kill” Americans. Host Dana Bash said, “We just heard from the white House about President Trump’s plan to deploy ICE agents to airports tomorrow.” [snip] The last thing that the American people need are for untrained ICE agents to be deployed at airports all across the country, potentially to brutalize or in some instances, kill them. We’ve already seen how Ice conducts itself. These are untrained individuals when it comes to doing the current job that they have.

Comments:

A great time for a terrorist to cause havoc on a plane or at the airport.
Ask the travelers if they want 'dangerous' ICE at the airports or nobody providing security.

Hakeem uses the most extreme language to try to make his point even though he is not speaking the truth. The brutality in Minnesota was perperpetrated b y violent organized and paid mobs that Walx and Frey refused to control. Thus the CBP and ICE had to protect each other as they picked up known criminal aliens. Renee Good was a trained ativist who tried to hit a Border Patrol agent with her vehicle as her 'wife' shouted 'GO!' She was shot in sedlf-ddefednsd. A similar shooting took trained, paid and longtime ativist Pretti down when he brutally, mindlessly wrnt after agents and was found to be armed. Hakeem tries to inflame with inaccuracies.... dangerous and very unAmerican.

"untrained" - in what way? Like the FBI agents with their masks on and long guns invading Americans' homes who happened to be at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and did nothing wrong but be there? I don't recall any outrage from the Dems on how those Americans were treated. I guess the presence of ICE agents might reduce the number of people cleaning the public bathrooms, etc in airports. Oh well.

May the now unprotected congress critters like Haa-keem be the only victims of his alleged threats at airports around the country. No offense to TSA agents, but I don't put them in the highly trained category; they can't protect you or themselves if a situation occurs. As for ICE, they ARE highly trained. Can't say anything remotely the same for the majority of our failure-up congress critters; I rank most of them below lemonade stand workers, and I do mean those like Haa-keem (very similar to our still incompetent one obama).

Checking Out Chicago's Checkout Bag Tax 6 replies

The City of Chicago instituted its Checkout Bag Tax in 2017. When introduced, allegedly to reduce the use of grocery bags to protect the environment, the charge was seven cents per bag. It was raised to ten cents per bag in 2025, and was most recently increased to fifteen cents per bag on Jan. 1, 2026. Before we look into these ideas in detail, let’s consider that history. A decade ago, Chicago did not have a bag tax. Then they started in 2017 with seven cents, liked it, and increased that number by 43% last year. Then this year,

It reads like a Hollywood script: FBI agents engaged in “Operation Hard Money” raided a Tinseltown mansion last week and took almost a dozen bad guys who were allegedly ripping off elderly folks into custody. Hopefully, the title of the film will be “Hard Time”: FBI agents raided a Hollywood mansion early Thursday, arresting a suspect in pajamas in a raid tied to an alleged $17.4 million mortgage fraud scheme targeting elderly homeowners. Prosecutors said the scheme resulted in about $6 million in actual losses, with 11 suspects — including an Iranian and Azerbaijani national — accused of stealing victims’ identities,

The court heard arguments in a case from Mississippi that also could affect voters in 13 other states and the District of Columbia, which have grace periods for ballots cast by mail. An additional 15 states that have more forgiving deadlines for ballots from military and overseas voters also could be impacted. A ruling is expected by late June, early enough to govern the counting of ballots in the 2026 midterm congressional elections.
