ATLANTA (AP) — A federal judge has permanently ordered Georgia’s prison system to keep providing some kinds of gender-affirming care for transgender prisoners, although the state plans to appeal. U.S. District Judge Victoria Marie Calvert last week ruled that a new state law denying hormone therapy to inmates violated their protection against cruel and unusual punishment under the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. She ordered the state to keep providing hormones to inmates who had been receiving therapy and to allow others medically diagnosed as needing hormone therapy to begin receiving treatment.

Pfttt! This makes me angry. Men taking the hormone treatments post-menopausal women need! No wonder my cost keeps going up! I had a full hysterectomy at age 34. Any other gals out there remember when Congress banned steroids from sports? It also outlawed the hormones millions of women actually need to function normally. There were dedicated chat rooms about the problem and the total inaction by our government. It went on for months and so many of us suffered terribly. Men cannot "become" women, and women cannot "become" men. The sooner this country gets with what God created, the sooner life will get back to normal. Anybody else miss normal?

Just one more deliberately irresponsible - not to mention immoral - waste of American tax dollars. How many Americans have to see this, along with so much other waste, while doing without legitimate and necessary needs - healthcare and otherwise.

What about my "body affirming" care? If I think I'm too fat and need liposuction for my mental health, can I demand the government pay for it? How about a nose job? It is for my mental health after all. Affirming someone's fantasywith surgery or medications should not come at government expense.

Another leftist, activist.federal Judge. There are times when I can sympathize with the seceding states from 1861. Yes, the South were Democrats then, but the Democrats of that time were nothing like those of today. A 180 degree change and the Dems are now the party of an all powerful state trying to alter the Constitution to suit their ideology. Too many of our Federal Judges think that they should be in full control of this country and to hell with the separation of powers when elections don't go their way.

I did not realize that, when you commit a crime and are incarcerated, you are required to be given all your wants and desires, no matter how ludicrous and non-life affirming they are. Hormones are not necessary for one to survive in prison. 3 hots and a cot are. Stop the craziness and stop backing up wrong coping skills. Perhaps we need a prison system for only those who are sexually confused. All in separate cells... The end.

Judge Calvert was born Stubbs. Her surname was changed at age 5 when her truck driver father Eddie Stubbs died. From her Wiki page: "Calvert was part of the legal team for Nicholas Bryant, who challenged the death sentence he received for murder during an armed robbery. The Georgia Supreme Court reversed his death sentence.[5] In 2020, Calvert unsuccessfully challenged her client Titus Bates's conviction for shooting a U.S. Marshals Service task force officer who was attempting to serve him with a warrant. Calvert argued that assaulting a police officer with a dangerous weapon did not qualify as a predicate crime of violence.[6][7]? Once a defender. always a defender?

As we reported, the board of the Kennedy Center voted to add President Donald Trump's name to the Center after the efforts he made to help restore the renowned arts venue. [snip] But it's a bit like the craziness over the White House ballroom. Trump gets a ballroom for free that the nation can use forever, and Democrats attack. Adding Trump's name is their current excuse for melting down, and folks on the right are enjoying tantrums. The hot takes on the left were something to see, starting with this guy who said he was a resident of Washington, D.C., but thinks "democracy died today" because of this.

People come from all over the world to steal millions from U.S. government Medicaid, housing, and other programs, he added. “Minnesota has become a magnet for fraud, so much so that we have developed a fraud tourism industry — people coming to our state purely to exploit and defraud its programs,” Thompson said. “This is a deeply unsettling reality that all Minnesotans should understand.”

Even CNN's chief data analyst, Harry Enten, couldn't hide his shock, declaring that "Democrats, in the minds of the American public, are lower than the Dead Sea." The real kicker? Democrats are turning on their own party. Only 42% of Democratic voters approve of how their representatives in Congress are performing, while 48% disapprove.
