Gavin Newsom Is The First Governor To
Make Homelessness A Way Of Life

Original Article

Remember when Governor Gavin Newsom, who has presided over the exponential growth of hundreds of thousands of homeless drug addicts living on California streets, magically cleaned up San Francisco ahead of the arrival of Xi Jinping and the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit . . .? The streets were suddenly shiny clean, devoid of the usual tents and encampments, piles of trash and filth, human excrement, and drug-addled zombies. The sidewalks and many businesses . . . received a world class cleaning. And then once the APEC Summit was over, the homeless drug addicts and their tent camps moved back in.

Comments:

California has created a de facto entitlement to shelter, sustenance and health care based solely on a disinclination to work.

Newsom owns a plantation but it doesn't produce cotton. The product of his plantation is Democrat votes. That kind of plantation was made possible by the invention of vote machines which assure the consistency and predictable quality of the product.

California has the weather to make it easier to live outside all year. Here in the east the bums and meth heads have sleeping bags tied to the handlebars of their stolen bikes as they search for parks, bridges or empty buildings around sundown.

Don't Freak Out About The Miami Mayoral
Election, And Here's Why

Miami's mayoral election has been framed as a political earthquake, but those sweeping claims don't hold water. They do, however, evince the ignorance of all too many, across party lines, about the actual power structure in the city, Miami-Dade County, and Florida. (snip) The "nonpartisan" mayor of Miami holds a largely ceremonial role. Real executive authority rests with the city manager, who can only serve with the approval of the five-member city commission. That "nonpartisan" commission currently has a stable 3-2 Republican majority.

Far too often, when bad public policy fails to deliver, the first reflex in Washington is to throw more money at the problem. This reflex has been destroying American health care for years. This pattern is seen clearly in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), as millions of Americans learn their premiums will skyrocket in 2026. Washington has long thrown good money after bad -- and the result has been ever-increasing costs for patients and taxpayers. This pattern can also be seen in Medicare Part D. The stand-alone Part D market is now in active collapse.

An immigration think tank is calling for Congress to consider mandating the use of a citizenship verification for voter registration after the Department of Homeland Security announced plans to make the Systemic Alien Verification for Entitlements more user-friendly for state and local election offices. Last week, the DHS settled a case with four states -- Florida, Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio -- to overhaul the citizenship verification system. (Snip) The new settlement requires the federal government to modernize the citizenship verification tools so that every state and territory -- not just the four litigants -- can more easily prevent noncitizens from voting.

There Isn't a single reason to continue giving Democrats the benefit of the doubt on their destructive, anti-American policies, least of all on immigration, yet the New York Times is here this week to do just that. In an unnecessarily long article our Sunday, Times reporter Christopher Flavelle sought to recast the Joe Biden era's catastrophic mess at the Southern border as a matter of misjudgment and political failure rather than what it really was -- deliberate harm inflicted on the nation.

Joe Biden's FBI under Director Christopher Wray knew Brian Cole was the January 6 pipe bomber back in April, 2921, but for some reason chose not to take him into custody or charge him with crimes. Brian Cole, 30, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was taken into custody last Thursday and charged with use of an explosive device and attempted malicious destruction by means of explosive materials. Cole admitted to investigators that he planted pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC headquarters on January 5, the night before the Capitol riot.

Here is a question you can ask the Google AI: "Can the Associated Press editorialize?" And here is the answer you will get: "No, the Associated Press (AP) strives for factual nonpartisan reporting and prohibits its journalists from editorializing or expressing personal opinions in their news coverage; their core mission is to provide objective news, but they face scrutiny and debate over potential biases, requiring consumers and member editors to remain vigilant for bias and clearly identify third party contributions." That's some remarkably unintelligent artificial intelligence.

Democrats can now add a major city in Donald Trump’s home state — and one set to host his future presidential library — to its list of off-cycle election wins. In a Tuesday runoff, Miamians elected Eileen Higgins as mayor, the first woman in the city’s history to hold the job and the first Democrat in 28 years. Higgins, a former county commissioner, defeated Republican Emilio González, an ex-city manager who had the endorsement of Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis. Though the race and the job of mayor are nominally nonpartisan, the election generated sizable interest from national Democrats and Republicans. Higgins’ win adds to the slew of victories

ATLANTA (AP) — A federal judge has permanently ordered Georgia’s prison system to keep providing some kinds of gender-affirming care for transgender prisoners, although the state plans to appeal. U.S. District Judge Victoria Marie Calvert last week ruled that a new state law denying hormone therapy to inmates violated their protection against cruel and unusual punishment under the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. She ordered the state to keep providing hormones to inmates who had been receiving therapy and to allow others medically diagnosed as needing hormone therapy to begin receiving treatment.

Civil war and famine spurred many Somalians to immigrate to the United States in 1991 and settle in Minnesota. That was 34 years ago. Somalians could have assimilated into U.S. culture by now, but American taxpayers have been roped into funding programs that coddle Somalians’ Third-World culture and disincentivize their assimilation. The Somali population explosion has rendered parts of Minneapolis unrecognizable as they impose a decidedly non-American culture on every aspect of the city. Somalis are members of the police force, city council, state legislature, and even Congress, still speaking their own language in those positions and, at times, cutting English speakers out of the loop.

I suspect they have posted more right-leaning material in the past 3 months than was published in the paper during Biden's entire term in office. In any case, today the Post makes the case that Obamacare subsidies, the coming expiration of which was the stated reason Democrats shut down the government, should not be extended. Why? Because there is lots of evidence suggesting the program is rife with fraud. On party-line votes in 2021 and 2022, Democrats invoked the pandemic emergency to temporarily expand eligibility for Obamacare insurance subsidies. Preserving these credits, which are due to expire
