An Australian women’s rights advocate has been ordered to pay a combined total of $95,000 AUD to two trans-identified men, with an additional $40,000 penalty in the case of non-compliance. Kirralie Smith was found guilty by a New South Wales court of “unlawfully vilifying” two trans-identified males who made headlines for participating in women’s sports. Justin “Riley” Dennis and Nicholas “Stephanie” Blanch lodged criminal complaints against Smith for raising public awareness of their inclusion in women’s football. Smith, a spokeswoman with Binary Australia, a campaign group dedicated to advocating for single-sex sports in Australia, had been raising public awareness of their inclusion in women’s sports after learning of injuries sustained

Re #1, I used to think that too, until a new boss at work took over our engineering group. At lunch I was chatting with him, found that he had spent a decade as a Christian preacher in Australia. I thought that was very interesting and started asking about how it was to live in Australia. He started off very bland and generic, but as we got to be more friendly, he let me in on the details. He was NOT complimentary on Australian culture and point of view. Apparently coming from prisoners does not make for a healthy culture. He said that wife beating and drunken behavior was extremely common, and that most men would much, much rather spend their evenings at the bar with their "mates" than with wife and family. He said the veneer of pleasant appearance covered a pretty nasty actual mess of a culture. He also said that most blue collar folks saw the government and the church as very negative forces, apparently a hold over from when there was the government and church and prisoners, two sides in opposition. Once the prisoners finished their sentences and had children, apparently the "them versus us" mentality has remained. He said that if an Australian sees a guy in a nice car, he automatically assumes that he's a crooked, rotten SOB who stole the money in some crooked way to get a nice car. Very negative on anyone who is a successful business man. I was told this 15 years ago, and he was in Australia a decade before that, so this info is at least 25-30 years old. Maybe things are different. I wonder.

Oh, for heaven sakes! This is so grotesquely unfair and, to be blunt, grotesque that I'm tempted to think it's all part of some elaborate prank. Scroll down and look at the actual photo to see what I mean. I honestly was wondering if he was kidding. He's not even remotely plausible as a woman. He's not even possible as a transvestite. He looks like a guy with long hair in a dress. And he wants to go beat up a bunch of girls on the soccer team. How is it not possible to call this out? What more could anyone possibly do to demean this individual then what he's already done to himself? It's ludicrous.

I am starting to believe that men that "trans" and play on women's teams, are really there to abuse women. They keep their plumbing, take shots to develop boobs, grow their hair long and wear a dress. They are FUGLY as all get out. Get on teams and do anything they can to deliberately cause injury to a female player. Dominance over women!

# 5 - I wrote to a pen pal in Australia for 48 years before we met. She and her husband came to America to visit. They were world travelers, often China and Russia, and on this trip they included America. Nice people. She was passive aggressive rude, tho. And when my son asked the husband what work he was in, he said :"executive at Harley Davidson." Oddly, we were just passing a Harley Davidson shop. I just had an uneasy feeling with them. That visit totally ruined any chance of me remaining pen pals with her. So I can totally understand what your friend was saying about them. Odd people.

I worked an aircraft program for the Air Force and the program office at Wright Patterson Air Force Base had an Australian Major working with them. He was a real pain in the AZZ. He would read specifications (I WROTE that were Iron Clad) and interpret them with his own spin. I was arguing with him, and in fact I had to go to the Head Brass (Colonel) to get his interpretations reversed. I finally had enough of all the disruption. In a Meeting of over 25 people, I asked him point blank who gave him the authority to interpret clear requirements on the contract the opposite of what was written. He waffled and him/hawed for over 5 minutes when the Colonel shut him down and said, Major, From now on you will not be on this team, you be doing other work...which turned out to be paper shuffling, NO DECISION AUTHORITY OF ANY KIND. He came to me after the meeting and said that I just ruined his Career. I corrected him and said, Major YOU ruined your own career by always acting outside your authority, now LIVE WITH IT. He whined and Bished more, I just walked away. The final nail in his coffin was when his tour time ran out and at his going away party, a Lt. Col. I worked with asked him for the GPS Coordinates of his HOME, not his office, where he lived. He asked why. Without a beat the Lt. Col. said, we will be testing airborne Laser weapons and we need test targets. The Major finally got it, NO ONE LIKED HIM, and the sooner he left the better!

During the oral argument over Trump v. Slaughter at the Supreme Court, Justice Elena Kagan got seriously exercised. “You’re asking us to destroy the structure of government!” Trump’s solicitor general, John Sauer, wisely declined to respond. She went on. “Where else have we so fundamentally altered the structure of government?” Indeed. The 1934 Humphrey’s Executor case did exactly that as the New Deal got into high gear during FDR’s reign. The Constitution defines three, not four, branches of government. Article I defines all the bits and pieces about the legislative branch. In particular, Section 8 lists the things that Congress is allowed to do. Section 9 lists a potful of things
Energy Affordability: A Blue State Problem 0 replies

Democrats have chosen to make “affordability” their theme for the 2026 midterm elections. This is ironic, since the big jump in the cost of living, around 10%, happened during the Biden administration and was the direct result of Biden administration policies. Nothing much has happened since Donald Trump took office 11 months ago; price increases have been modest, in keeping with historic levels. Some prices, like gasoline, have fallen. The problem is the big decline in the purchasing power of the dollar that we saw under Joe Biden. Energy prices are a key element in the cost of living, since they affect the price of everything else.

For Christ and Country: The Martyrdom of Charlie Kirk is the first book to confront the assassination of Charlie Kirk with the moral seriousness the moment demands. But it is also the first book to ask a question so explosive that no major media outlet, no politician, and no academic has dared to touch it. If a U.S. citizen like Anwar al-Awlaki could be killed in a drone strike because his propaganda inspired jihadists…why is there zero accountability for the politicians, journalists, and media figures whose propaganda inspired Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin? That question—bold, morally precise, and unavoidably logical—is the beating heart of Drew Thomas Allen’s book.

Ernest Hemingway famously wrote when describing bankruptcy: It happens “gradually, then suddenly.” The same is true of dictatorships. They project an illusion of permanence—until the moment the façade shatters and decades of repression give way to rapid collapse. Nowhere is this dynamic more evident than in the Islamic Republic of Iran, a theocracy that has ruled for 46 years through corruption, brutality, and systemic mismanagement. In recent weeks, a severe water crisis has pushed Iran into international headlines. President Masoud Pezeshkian himself warned that it is very feasible that water rationing in Tehran may follow.
