It Sure Looks Like Obamacare is Rife with Fraud

Original Article

The new Washington Post editorial board continues to be a surprise. I suspect they have posted more right-leaning material in the past 3 months than was published in the paper during Biden's entire term in office. In any case, today the Post makes the case that Obamacare subsidies, the coming expiration of which was the stated reason Democrats shut down the government, should not be extended. Why? Because there is lots of evidence suggesting the program is rife with fraud. On party-line votes in 2021 and 2022, Democrats invoked the pandemic emergency to temporarily expand eligibility for Obamacare insurance subsidies. Preserving these credits, which are due to expire

My special needs son is 31 years old. He makes about 12,000.00 a year working part time at a grocery store. His Obamacare just went up more than 300% from 65.00/month to 265.00/month. I thought nobody was supposed to end up paying 25% of their income for AFFORDABLE Health Care insurance. Obamacare was designed to be a dismal failure. In that... it has succeeded.

No bugs but lots of features. The people who are making tons of money from obamacare are those in on the original design, the insurance companies and lobbyists. They are making legal money on it while those covered for free take every hangnail and sniffle to the hospital while paying customers don't see a doctor at all because the deductible is a budget buster.

Handy fraud spotter: when the people and businesses who SHOULD be negatively affected by legislation - in this case the medical workers, hospitals and insurance companies - meekly endorse that legislation then they have been promised a payoff or an oligarchy/monopoly. And now they have it.

It was a disaster just waiting to happen and the COVID boondoggle helped it along adding massive schemes for fraud. Problem is that it's affected so many the liberals set that up so bail outs will be required to cover these unfortunates who have to be shoved onto even massive medicaid programs the states have to administer.

It didn't fail for health insurance companies like United Healthcare. And I don't know how or why Congressional Republicans in both chambers can even be bothered to try and work with Dems to fix it, but of course, the lame stream media shapes the narrative that Republican want people to die. Aaarrgh.

Ding-Dong! The Obamacare Subsidies Are Dead! 8 replies

The enhanced Obamacare subsidies Democrats shut down the government to protect back in October are officially dead. House Speaker Mike Johnson slammed the door on extending the bloated COVID-era handout, saying the House will focus instead on moving forward with a new Republican healthcare package. The temporary subsidies, born out of pandemic panic, were supposed to expire at the end of this year. Democrats, of course, wanted them extended indefinitely—because nothing is ever temporary in Washington when it involves taxpayer money. But Johnson made it clear on Tuesday that this was the end of the line.

We have been covering the sudden resignation of the District of Columbia's police chief, Pamela Smith. Now, thanks to an investigation by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, we have a much clearer picture as to the reasons behind Chief Smith's resignation; namely, the testimony from several of her subordinates that she pressured them to alter records to make the crime rates in the District look much less dire than they actually were. It was these crime rates that prompted President Trump to deploy the National Guard to the capital city to restore order. Now, it looks like that decision has been finally justified,

Before criticizing Trump, however, liberals should make sure to remove the logs from their own eyes. The Bondi Beach attack in Australia was shocking, but not at all surprising. Some of the details were distinctive — an idyllic spot on the Pacific Ocean instantly turned into a killing field; a father-son terror squad — but the basic picture of radicalized Muslim immigrants targeting a gathering of Jews was drearily familiar. These events follow the same pattern because the fundamentalist version of Islam is, at its root, hostile to Jews. Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that there was a refugee flow of Unitarians, and some proportion of those Unitarians were antagonistic to traditional Christians — such that they vandalized their businesses, harassed them in the streets,
