America’s crime map is not random. And it is not evenly distributed. It forms a pattern, a persistent outline that says more about the country than any campaign speech or census brochure ever could. When you trace the safest states in America, you trace a corridor of calm: New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont’s shadow, Idaho’s long sweep of farms and foothills. Places where the pace is steady and the population overwhelmingly white. When you trace the most dangerous states, the pattern changes just as sharply — a concentration of chaos in states marked by sprawling cities, fractured communities, and the kind of “diverse” demographic makeup polite society insists you never mention.

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was shot and critically wounded in Midtown early Sunday morning and is now clinging to life at Bellevue Hospital, police and sources said.
The shooting took place on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue around 2 a.m., according to police, who did not identify Boyd as the victim.
However, sources said it was the 29-year-old NFL cornerback.
Cops said there have been no arrests and the shooting is under investigation.
Boyd, a 5-11 defensive back for Gang Green joined the team this year after coming up with the Minnesota Vikings before the 2019 season. He has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans.

More of everything is barely enough to help keep Ukraine fighting off the predations of Russia. That is the conclusion delivered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday as he renewed his plea for more weapons a day after Russian strikes on Kyiv killed seven people.
Russia’s invasion of its neighbour has dragged on for nearly four years, with diplomatic efforts to end the conflict failing, and fears are growing for the country’s energy security ahead of a fourth winter of war, AFP reports.

Ford has been unable to fill some 5,000 openings for mechanics despite offering a salary of $120,000 a year — prompting the company’s chief executive to warn of a dire shortage of skilled tradespeople in the US.
“We are in trouble in our country. We are not talking about this enough,” Ford CEO Jim Farley said on an episode of the “Office Hours: Business Edition” podcast published earlier this week.
“We have over a million openings in critical jobs, emergency services, trucking, factory workers, plumbers, electricians and tradesmen.” [snip] “We do not have trade schools,” he fumed.
Earlier this year, Ford rolled out a $4 million initiative to fund scholarship for auto technicians.

Gov. Kathy Hochul is getting cooked for placing her “Green New Deal” on the back burner.
The New York leader faced attacks from both sides of the aisle this week when her administration revealed it was stalling the implementation of the All-Electric Buildings Act that includes a controversial ban on installing gas stoves in newly built homes.
The law was supposed to start in January for new buildings up to seven stories, and then for all other buildings in 2029, but state lawyers agreed in a court filing to a delay amid an ongoing court fight challenging the law.

A British businessman who threatened to “gang-rape” and set fire to a flight attendant has had his jail sentence tripled after an appeals court ruled it was far too lenient.
Salman Iftikhar, 37, was traveling first class from London Heathrow to Lahore with his three children and one of his wives in February 2023 when he turned violent midair.
After downing champagne and helping himself to ice from the on-board bar, crew members told him to return to his seat.
When told to stop, the defendant became irate, and started to film cabin crew with his phone, telling them, ‘Do not tell me what to do, you b—h,’” a court heard.

A 2,500-foot bridge partially collapsed in China following a landslide on the mountain where it was built.
The Hongqi Bridge was only just completed earlier this year.
It was part of a highway that links Sichuan and the nation’s heartland with Tibet
Harrowing video of the incident shows the landslide pounding rubble onto the bridge, with the span collapsing under the weight and impact.[snip]
The Hongqi bridge was completed earlier this year to create an easier connection between Sichuan and the Tibetan Plateau.

A bloody brawl broke out at a sold-out event for Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA at the University of California, Berkeley — with keffiyeh-clad protesters clashing with attendees and cops in disturbing scenes.
One man could be seen with blood gushing from his face after getting into a fight with an agitator as the campus event for the group was kicking off late Monday, Fox News reported.
Police were spotted pulling the two men apart as anti-Turning Point demonstrators – including some donning keffiyehs – tried to intervene.
At least two people had already been arrested, including one for battery, before the event got underway, police said.

Perhaps the greatest fallacy of the whole "our diversity is our strength" nonsense is the idea that people from Third World, or even post-Stone Age, low-trust societies can successfully set aside their culture and upbringing to function as members of a modern nation where their neighbor is a fellow citizen and not prey. Once upon a time, our education system was at least as devoted to developing citizens as it was to gender pronouns. Teachers took kids from rural Sicily, Jews from the ghettos of Poland and Russia, the kids of sharecroppers and coal miners; in fact, they took all comers and turned them into Americans

Target wants its employees to spread some holiday cheer — whether they like it or not, according to a report.
The Minneapolis-based retailer issued a new directive mandating in-store workers smile and make eye contact and either greet or wave to any shopper that comes within 10 feet, according to Bloomberg News.
If a customer steps within four feet, then the service rep is instructed to ask whether they need help or how their day is going, the new guidance said.
Major retailers like Walmart and Disney have long used similar customer-greeting rules that require employees to smile, make eye contact and offer assistance when guests come within a set distance.

Thanks to the good work of Blaze Media’s Steve Baker, we now have a plausible suspect in the January 6 pipe bomb plot, a former Capitol Police officer and reportedly a current CIA associate by the name of Shaun Rae Kerkhoff.
“While nothing is 100% certain and everyone is innocent until proven guilty,” Baker posted on X, “gait recognition software identified a 94% match. Video proximity tracking and human analysis by federal intel sources take it to what I’m told is a 96-98% certainty.” [snip] the conspirators did not anticipate Harris being at the DNC. Her presence there complicated everything.

Hundreds of millions of smartphone users are now subject to porn bans and restrictions, as legislators in the U.S. and Europe either block adult websites completely or mandate identity and age verification checks on users accessing content.
This plays into a fundamental misunderstanding of the way the global internet works. It also has drastic, long-term implications for the freedom of millions. And there are serious short-term threats as well, which has prompted a new Google warning.
Whilst multiple U.S. states have enacted porn bans of various flavors, it is the U.K. that could be the trigger point for a more fundamental change to internet freedoms.
Comments:
The safest states are also 2nd Amendment supportive states.
