A University of Kentucky student and competitive cheerleader was arrested after the body of an infant she gave birth to was found stuffed inside a garbage bag tossed in a closet, according to authorities and reports. Laken Snelling, 21, was cuffed Sunday after cops were called about an unresponsive infant at a residence near campus grounds in Lexington, the Lexington Police Department said in a statement.m Officers found the infant “wrapped in a towel inside of a black trash bag,” in a closet, according to a police report obtained by WLWT.

What a shame two lives destroyed, the child and the mother.
Every so often a story such as this coms along and the mother who is really a child herself despite the age, has to bare the brunt of the law. Most times they are frightened or just had no one that would listen .No one to turn to.

She was a senior at the University of Kentucky, she had to have had enough sense to handle things better. Is this the value this generation places on new life? Is this a result of the abortion crowd and their message to the young.

I feel sorry for her, and the baby. Her mind was scrambled by anxiety and she didn't know what to do..

#3 please stop coddling these people. As a college senior she should have a high enough IQ to deal with a pregnancy without killing the baby. She just didn’t want to interrupt her lifestyle.

Oh my dear God....what an evil thing. Rest in peace, little one; you deserved so much better. Your so-called mother should suffer your fate.

She could have dropped it at any fire station or hospital. At least the poor little thing would have had a chance. If she was smart enough to be in college she was smart enough to know that.
But then I noticed in high school that being a cheerleader makes one immune to most rules of behavior.

It's pretty well known these days how pregnancies occur, and the methods for preventing them, when unwanted.
Many times girls forego such "preventative measures" in order to use their pregnancy as a cudgel to convince the "genetic material donor" to do the honorable thing, and marry her. Unfortunately, "honor" is a character trait sorely lacking in this world, and even in the USA. Anyone who would be so flippant with the life of a child should be marked with the Scarlet Letter, "M," for life. There's something seriously wrong with the brains of women these days, wherein they look at children, not as uniquely created souls from the Hand of God, but as optional commodities, that are jettisoned whenever required, or added whenever the "prize" will pay itself back many times over in gaining some advantage. Somewhere along the way, the child's life and soul are deemed superfluous, and soon after excised and discarded.
I pray the circumstances for this mother are far different than what it we find easy to conclude; only time and police investigation will tell.

I would wager that similar things happen every day.
This one made 'the News' ONLY because the mother is a cheerleader.
Look at the opening sentence:
"A University of Kentucky student and competitive cheerleader was arrested..."
If she had not been a cheerleader, there would have been no mention, no article.
What does that tell us about the 'News' media?

Only the death penalty would balance justice. Eye for an eye. Only true repentance will oherwise suffice.

FTA: "The new mother has been charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant..."
Once the autopsy report is completed, I suspect that there will be additional, more serious charges.

#3, I feel sorry for the baby. I also feel sorry for the grandparents using this quote - “when you have a grandchild, it fills a space in your heart that you never realized was empty.” (Author Unknown)
What is happening to people? It seems like someone's life is unimportant to another - is that a consequence of abortion? To treat life so casually?

If she had made a trip to another state and had an abortion, this would not be news and the result would have been the same. You must use government approved murder, sweetheart, and then all is well in the eyes of your society.

I actually feel sorry for this girl. Putting her in jail solves what. She will live with this act for the rest of her life.

This generation has such a low view of life. She's a selfish low class murderer, and I can't except any excuses for her. Even though RvW is no longer law, there are still so many ways to unload a child "safely." Every murderer lives with what they've done for the rest of their lives. No empathy here. I'll feel bad for her when there's an article where she says how sorry she is.
