A federal judge has declared President Donald Trump’s use of military troops in Los Angeles illegal, barring the Pentagon from using National Guard members and Marines from performing police functions, like arrests and crowd control. In a 52-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer warned that Trump appears intent on “creating a national police force with the President as its chief.” Trump billed his deployment of troops to Los Angeles, starting in early June, as a way of bolstering immigration enforcement efforts amid protests in the city against the president’s deportation agenda. Though Trump has now withdrawn all but 300 of those troops, he is mulling

As I recall the LAPD chief admitted publicly that the LAPD was "overwhelmed". Judge Breyer apparently missed the fact that NG troops only guarded federal buildings. They were not acting as police. He is a pompous underinformed fool.

This one-sided report on this seriously hgiased jude is from Politico. "Breyer’s ruling bars the Pentagon from “ordering, instructing, training, or using the National Guard currently deployed in California, and any military troops heretofore deployed in California” from “engaging in arrests, apprehensions, searches, seizures, security patrols, traffic control, crowd control, riot control, evidence collection, interrogation, or acting as informants,” without demonstrating they have permission from Congress." They did none of that. "An earlier decision from Breyer against Trump’s call-up of National Guard troops was quickly lifted by a federal appeals court. In that earlier decision, in June, Breyer had found that the deployment was unlawful because there was little sign that the situation in southern California met criteria Congress has specified for federalizing a state’s military forces, such as danger of a rebellion or difficulty in executing federal law." The LAPD chief: "We're overwhelmed."

Politico's liberal media toadies cite this as a win for Gavin. Pffffft Meanwhile: "Breyer stressed that he was not ordering a withdrawal of the roughly 300 troops that remain in Los Angeles, but simply that they only perform functions authorized by federal law." Which is what they did in LA during the riots.

So....... would this same judge order California to engage their law enforcement to get the riots under control. Because if memory serves, the riots and lawlessness was out of control with the local police just standing there watching. So, what DO YOU DO, when the local government refuses to act and the citizens are being terrorized. Answer me that Judge.

Libtard Clinton appointee has already been overturned once trying to stop DJT from deploying the National Guard. This should be quickly overturned as well. These resistance warriors are nothing if not persistent, but it's long past time for both Congress and SCOTUS to impose some serious penalties on these rogue judges who insist on using their bench to play partisan politics.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris says in her new memoir that Democrats’ decision to allow then-President Biden to decide whether he would run for reelection was driven by “recklessness.” “‘It’s Joe and Jill’s decision.’ We all said that, like a mantra, as if we’d all been hypnotized,” Harris writes in a newly-released excerpt of her upcoming book on her unsuccessful presidential bid, 107 Days. “Was it grace, or was it recklessness? In retrospect, I think it was recklessness,” she adds in the excerpt published by The Atlantic. “The stakes were simply too high. This wasn’t a choice that should have been left to an individual’s ego, an individual’s ambition.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA’s Mars rover Perseverance has uncovered rocks in a dry river channel that may hold potential signs of ancient microscopic life, scientists reported Wednesday. They stressed that in-depth analysis is needed of the sample gathered there by Perseverance — ideally in labs on Earth — before reaching any conclusions. While acknowledging the latest analysis “certainly is not the final answer,” NASA’s science mission chief Nicky Fox said it’s ”the closest we’ve actually come to discovering ancient life on Mars.” Roaming Mars since 2021, the rover cannot directly detect life, past or present. The U.S. Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to decide the legality of Donald Trump's sweeping global tariffs, setting up a major test of one of the Republican president's boldest assertions of executive power that has been central to his economic and trade agenda. The justices took up the Justice Department's appeal of a lower court's ruling that Trump overstepped his authority in imposing most of his tariffs under a federal law meant for emergencies. The court swiftly acted after the administration last week asked it to review the case, which implicates trillions of dollars in customs duties over the next decade.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday temporarily allowed the Trump administration to hold on to billions in foreign aid funds that it wants to cancel, setting up a high-stakes battle over the president’s power to unilaterally cancel funds mandated by Congress. The one-page order, signed by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., paused the part of a lower court ruling that required the government to pay some $4 billion of the $4.9 billion rescissions request that the Trump administration sent to Congress last month. The Supreme Court order also asked the initial challengers to the funding freeze to respond by this Friday.
