If any governor should know the risks of sending the National Guard to police an American city, it should be the governor of Ohio. Everyone in Ohio knows what happened on May 4, 1970, when National Guard troops opened fire on anti-war protesters at Kent State University. Four protesters were killed and nine others wounded, including one who was paralyzed from the waist down. [Snip] He’s sending them to police American civilians and further Trump’s political agenda, which includes normalizing the deployment of military troops on the streets of American communities even when local leaders don’t want them there.

President Trump told conservative radio host Todd Starnes on Thursday he plans on tagging along with DC police and National Guard members as they patrol the capital this evening. “I’m going to be going out tonight, I think with the police and with the military, of course,” the president said. “So we’re going to do a job--the National Guard is great, they’ve done a fantastic job.” It was not immediately clear whether Trump planned to personally help apprehend suspects or clear homeless encampments.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is fed up with the nonsense and lies about “mass starvation” in Gaza, and the world media’s adamant refusal to consider the evidence that Hamas has been releasing photographs of children with pre-existing congenital illnesses, such as cerebral palsy, and presenting them as “starving” and “close to death.” He also wanted to make clear just how much aid has been distributed to the Gazans by the Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. To date, two million meals have been served, but you almost never see this figure reported in the media.

[Snip]There were nearly 135,000 people listed who are over 160 years old, and in some cases, getting payments.'

I was born in the District of Columbia at the end of 1942. Growing up in the suburbs, there was so little crime that when it did happen, it made the front page... [Snip] If the District were a state, it would have the highest homicide rate of any state in the nation. [Snip] Area residents know what needs to happen in addition to swift punishment of the perpetrators.,,employed fathers in the home and school choice to free especially poor children from failing public schools that give them nothing on which to build a life. Without these, the National Guard will be only a temporary fix.

If you are one of the millions of people celebrating the trimming of federal fat, you’ll want to know that a new taxpayer threat of stunning proportions is rising, fast. [Snip] A $1.3 trillion pension crisis is barreling toward American taxpayers,.. [Snip] According to a new report by the nonpartisan Equable Institute, the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) is between $20 and $30 billion in debt and will be unable to fully pay back the teachers who funded it... [Snip] How could this happen? How could a $90+ billion fund be so poorly managed as to be at a loss? ...bureaucratic hubris and a sense of entitlement.

President Donald Trump is weighing whether to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug, according to a report. [Snip] This comes after cannabis companies have committed millions of dollars to the president's political groups, according to the report. [Snip] The potential move to remove marijuana from the list of Schedule I controlled substances and make it a Schedule III drug would make it significantly easier to buy and sell cannabis and make the industry more profitable.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is once again rejecting any consideration for President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss terms for a ceasefire without his involvement. [Snip] Zelenskyy reacted, carrying the message from the global intelligence community who support the ongoing conflict,... Zelenskyy has banned opposition parties in Ukraine, taken control of media, targeted religious groups who he claims are subversive to his interests and cancelled elections in order to remain in power. Now Zelenskyy hides behind the claim of a constitution his regime modified in order to ensure he alone controls the pathways to peace.

We’ve known for years that the Covid-19 vaccines left many Americans seriously injured. Yet despite this common knowledge, the federal government’s surveillance to ensure vaccine safety has been substandard, to put it charitably. Worse, its performance in compensating those injured by the vaccine has been pathetic. Now, Congress is finally paying attention to America’s vaccine woes. [Snip] The sheer number of reported adverse events from the Covid-19 vaccine (over 1.8 million) dwarfs all previously reported vaccine injuries. But because it is a “passive” reporting system, largely based on patient self-reporting, VAERS is unable to show a causal relationship between a specific vaccine injection and a particular adverse reaction.
