President Donald Trump has told Canada that if it recognizes Palestine as a state, it’s jeopardizing a trade pact with the U.S. The threat is more than leverage for talks. It’s a reminder that the West is giving up on civilization and needs to be rousted from its slumber. “Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine,” Trump wrote Thursday on Truth Social. “That will make it very hard for us to make a trade deal with them.” Canada is not the only Western nation that feels the need to recognize the terrorist-controlled Gaza Strip,

Can anyone guess what is wrong with the following headline? “Democrats use new tactic to highlight Trump’s gutting of Medicaid: billboards in the rural U.S.” That appeared in The Guardian newspaper over the weekend. How about this one from NPR: “GOP governors stay silent amid plans to slash Medicaid spending in their states.” Or this one from AP: “Rural hospitals brace for financial hits or even closure under Republicans’ $1 trillion Medicaid cut“ Or this one from NBC News: “Another report suggests Medicaid cuts could lead to thousands of deaths.” Or countless others

You might think that the first six months of President Donald Trump’s second term in office has been especially rough on the media. But if you do, you’re very wrong. In fact, though still not in positive territory, trust in the media has jumped sharply over the same half-year period a year earlier, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. In I&I/TIPP’s online national poll of 1,421 adults, taken from June 25 to June 27, we asked (as we do each month) the following question: Generally speaking, how much trust do you have in the traditional or established news media (Example: Washington Post, New York Times,

The political left will never recover from Trump Derangement Syndrome. President Donald Trump could put the economy on a perpetual growth path, stop World War III, bring permanent peace to the Middle East, resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict and in his spare time cure cancer and put a man on Mars, and the Democrats and progressives would still blindly hate him. Would the Republicans and conservatives who have battered and cursed him since 2015 continue to bitterly disapprove of him, as well? Trump has had an extraordinary run so far. An AI analysis by Newsweek says the first six months of Trump’s second term “have been the most

Shortly after President Donald Trump accused Barack Obama of treason – an epithet that has been thrown at Trump practically every day – Obama spokesman Patrick Rodenbush said: “These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.” Distraction from what? Rodenbush didn’t have to say, because the media have been busy filling in that blank. “Trump tries to distract from Epstein by casually accusing Obama of treason,” is how MSNBC put it. CNN’s headline blared

You’ve heard it countless times. Climate change is the biggest threat to humanity since the dawn of man. Nothing else compares. Well, nothing except hatred of Elon Musk. The same people who want to ban gas-powered cars to “save the planet” decided, bizarrely, to attack Musk (for the unpardonable sin of trying to root out waste and fraud in the federal government) by targeting Tesla drivers. Well, it worked. Tesla sales are down. Tesla earnings are down. But those who are in the market for an EV didn’t rush to buy plug-ins made by other companies. The entire market is down.

One of the most important provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill has gone completely unnoticed, but promises to make the auto industry great again. For 50 years, the federal government has been forcing fuel economy standards on auto companies. If the average fuel economy of the cars sold in a year exceeded a federal standard, the companies had to cough up enormous penalties. Passed in 1975 as a way to deal with an energy crisis (that was caused by government price controls), “corporate average fuel economy” (CAFE) standards – required the fleet of cars sold by an automaker to achieve

The Democratic Party’s attempt to “resist” President Donald Trump is backfiring, the latest I&I/TIPP poll shows. A plurality of American adults now believe the one-time party of the center has gone too far to the left. Voters who responded to the online national poll of 1,421 adults, taken from June 25 to June 27, were asked the following question: “Do you think the Democratic Party has become too radical in its views and policies?” A strong plurality of 45% of all poll respondents said yes, while 36% said no and another 18% said they weren’t sure. The poll’s margin of error is +/-2.7 percentage points.

Two impeachments didn’t do it. A phony Russian hoax didn’t do it. A dubious election loss didn’t do it. Relentlessly negative coverage didn’t do it. Civil and criminal judgments and massive fines didn’t do it. Two assassination attempts didn’t do it. Maybe Jeffrey Epstein’s ghost will finally bring Donald Trump down. That seems to be the hope, anyway. Epstein, who hobnobbed with the rich and famous, had been under investigation since 2005 for sex trafficking and pedophilia, and died in prison six years ago, has been responsible for conspiracy theories for years. As NPR wrote in 2022:

We’ve noted before that today’s Democrats are operating with a mental deficit. A new poll further confirms they are a broken people. While it’s good for a cheap laugh, because they are often smug, condescending and hateful to those who disagree with them, their fragile psychological state poses a threat to the republic. A Rasmussen poll released Monday found that 60% of Democratic voters still believe “the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.” As disturbing as that is, 69% of those who self-identify as “liberals” believe Donald Trump conspired with Moscow to beat Hillary Clinton.

When former Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she would not be running for California governor, she appeared to leave the door open to another shot at the White House in 2028. However, the real Democratic contender to watch is not Harris. Rather – implausible as it may seem to some – New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appears to be the front-runner for Democrats’ 2028 presidential nomination, should she forgo a Senate campaign, which she would almost certainly win.

Warren, who appeared alongside Mamdani at the DC37 union building to support his universal childcare proposal, said he kick-started that conversation in the right place – and has Wall Street fat cats and billionaires running scared. “For me, New York City is the place to start the conversation for Democrats on how affordability is the central issue, the central reason to be a Democrat, and that

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is declaring “war” on Republicans over plans in Texas proposing a new congressional map, likely resulting in five pickups for the GOP. Hochul ranted about President Donald Trump and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), deeming the governor a “co-conspirator” and asserting that they both are eroding democracy and “drag[ging] us toward authoritarianism.” “Now what Texas and Republican states are doing at the direction of Donald Trump, I say, is nothing short of a legal insurrection against our capital,” she said. “Legal meaning, they’re using the legal process — [it] does not mean it’s legal, and it must be stopped.”

As expected, Texas Democratic legislators have fled the state to deny a quorum for Gov. Greg Abbott's redistricting push. The members flew to Illinois on Sunday, which qualifies as peak irony given that the blue state is arguably the most gerrymandered in the country. This plan was reportedly hatched with Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL), and the 30 odd Democrats will spend at least a week there. Given what we saw when they did this in 2021, denying a quorum for an election reform vote, there is no doubt a lot of grandstanding, dramatics, and cringe singing on the way.

Recently, a large group of black youths began pummeling white adults in downtown Cincinnati. The original altercation apparently broke out between a black and white male in he-said/he-said fashion. But that dispute soon turned into a virtual free-for-all. Numerous male and female black youths sucker-punched a middle-aged woman. Others continued to kick or body slam the victims. There were many disturbing aspects to the beat-downs. One, the violence broke out along racial and age fault lines. After the initial dispute, groups of black youths swarmed solitary older white bystanders to pound them. Two, the surrounding assembled group of black youths not only failed to intervene to restrain the bullies.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to order a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip to force Hamas to free the hostages, according to local reports. The expansion of the war would see the military, which already controls about 75% of Gaza, take over the remaining areas and conduct operations where the hostages are believed to be held, the Jerusalem Post reported. The move was reportedly made without the input of the Israeli military’s chief of staff Eyal Zamir — with Netanyahu instructing him to fall in line or resign, according to the internal memo sent out.
