More than 100 criminal cases at Boston Municipal Court have been dismissed as Massachusetts defendants go without lawyers in the wake of an attorney work stoppage.
Virtually all bar advocates — private lawyers hired by the state to represent people who can't afford an attorney — are no longer accepting district court cases due to a pay dispute with the state. The Lavallee Protocol mandates that defendants who do not have attorneys within 45 days are to have the cases against them dismissed without prejudice. "The case dismissals today, with many more expected in coming days and weeks, present a clear and continuing threat to public safety ...

Authorities in Bermuda said Tuesday that they arrested four U.S. cruise ship passengers accused of drug possession.
Police said in a statement that the suspects had a “significant quantity of illegal drugs” including cannabis and carfentanil, which experts say is 100 times more potent than fentanyl and is used to tranquilize elephants.
“This seizure may have prevented a potential tragedy,” said acting Detective Superintendent Derricka Burns.
The suspects also were accused of possessing vape pens and suspected THC gummies.
Bermuda police said security officers aboard a Carnival cruise ship had detained the suspects.

California’s new $20-per-hour minimum wage for fast food workers has resulted in a significant decline in employment in that sector, leading to 18,000 fewer jobs than would have been the case otherwise.
That’s according to a new paper released by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) this month, which said:
We analyze the effect of California’s $20 fast food minimum wage, which was enacted in September 2023 and went into effect in April 2024, on employment in the fast food sector. In unadjusted data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, we find that employment in California’s fast food sector declined by 2.7 percent

An appeals court has overturned a New Jersey sanctuary law that attempted to ban state and local agencies, as well as private contractors, from partnering with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain illegal aliens in detention centers.
On Tuesday, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a 2-1 decision that New Jersey’s law, known as AB 5207, “interferes with the federal government’s core power to enforce immigration laws” by banning state and local agencies and private contractors from working with ICE to operate detention centers for illegal aliens.

Here's a common tactic of the legacy media: Find an activist with credentials in a field they haven't worked with in years, someone with a laundry list of made-up grievances, someone fundamentally bitter and angry, and have them speculate on some personal aspect of a person they've never met or spoken with.
Case in point: CNN recently trotted out a Dr. Chris Pernell, a left-wing activist who hasn't practiced medicine since her residency, to remote-diagnose President Trump's chronic venous insufficiency. It should come as no surprise that she immediately started crying the president's doom.

The Justice Department recently acknowledged that it is conducting a criminal investigation of both former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. The current CIA director, John Ratcliffe, made a criminal referral to the DOJ concerning Brennan. Many believe that referral involves perjury on Brennan’s part when testifying before Congress or during Special Counsel John Durham’s inquiry.
The precise criminal offenses concerning Comey are not clear at this point. But there was certainly plenty of malfeasance and misfeasance by both these agency heads starting with the inception of the Russia collusion fiasco.

Let’s be honest here: The Democratic Party is a train wreck, and famed party strategist James Carville is screaming it from the rooftops. I’ve given him a lot of flak for torching his credibility by confidently predicting a Kamala Harris victory—but credit where it’s due; this time, he’s not wrong.
In a scathing New York Times op-ed, Carville called his party a “cracked-out clown car”—and let’s face it, he hit the nail on the head. The Democrats are bleeding voters, hemorrhaging credibility, and spiraling into irrelevance with no clear leader or message. Carville’s attempt to patch this sinking ship is bold but delusional, and it’s a perfect snapshot of a party

It’s always amusing to me who Democrats view as being their “star” at any given moment. That the person the party has chosen to elevate changes daily tells you just how screwed they know they are. As such, I figured I’d highlight who they’re flying as a test candidate from time to time, as they pop up like a cold sore on a hooker. This week it’s Secretary Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
That Pete Buttigieg was ever a serious candidate, let alone the winner of the 2020 Iowa Caucuses, is a testament to the power of identity politics in the Democratic Party.

The largest employer in the United States isn't a Fortune 100 company like Alphabet, Amazon or Apple. It's the federal government − and that's a problem.
Thankfully, President Donald Trump continues to slash bureaucratic bloat. On July 11, the administration sent layoff notices to more than 1,300 State Department workers, and three days later, the Supreme Court allowed Trump
to move forward with plans to gut the Department of Education.
That's bad news for government employees, but great for taxpayers, especially given the Education Department's expense − $268 billion in the last fiscal year − and its lack of effectiveness.

Are we watching the death of the legacy media? These media companies are losing money by the bushelful. It’s unsustainable — as Stephen Colbert just learned. His show was reportedly losing $40 million per year. That’s an insane amount of money to lose on a single stand-up comedy/talk show. He reportedly had 200 people working on his staff. How does that compare to other evening shows in the comedy/talk space? Well, Greg Gutfeld’s evening comedy/talk show has… 12, including 2 cameramen. That’s right. Just twelve people work behind the scenes to put a far superior product on the screen.

Among the climatically correct, nothing is more scandalous than describing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions as beneficial. You can be blacklisted from public forums, professional networking sites, and even be removed from your tenured university position as an accomplished scientist.
Nonetheless, the truth is this: CO2 is fundamental to the photosynthetic process by which plants make food for themselves -- and ultimately for us. Furthermore, the increase in atmospheric CO2 from industrial activity in the past century has helped vegetation over most of the planet to flourish. Also benefiting plants has been the relative warmth of recent decades.
Among the beneficiaries are fruit plants, whose sensitivity to cold is well established.

A Department of Justice employee claims she was fired after feds discovered her husband had developed an anti-ICE phone app. Carolyn Feinstein, who is married to ICEBlock developer Joshua Aaron, said she was unfairly removed from her post in 'retribution' against her partner's work. The ICEBlock app sets out warning signals to users when ICE agents are within a five-mile radius of their location, allowing targets to flee. After Aaron was exposed online for creating the app, Feinstein said she was terminated from her post as a forensic accountant after almost a decade working for the DoJ. 'This was retribution.

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom asked nonprofits to donate at least $610,000 to groups that call for defunding or abolishing law enforcement since 2023 before distancing himself from such stances. Immigrant Defenders Law Center (IDLC) and Immigrant Legal Defense (ILD) received $500,000 in 2023 and $110,000 in 2025, respectively, at Newsom’s request, according to state records first reported by The Washington Free Beacon. IDLC has advocated for defunding the police and worked to free illegal immigrants detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), while ILD “prioritizes abolishing immigration detention and reimagining the U.S. immigration system entirely,” the group’s website says.

Everyone hates James Comey.
Conservatives hate him for his role in the Russian collusion hoax, but also that absurd “86/47” social media post. In that ridiculous tale, Comey claims he saw some shells arranged that way while walking on the beach. The man has increasingly become more unhinged since he was fired by Donald Trump, almost ten years ago.
Democrats hate Comey for shedding light on the Hillary Clinton email scandal, wherein the former secretary of state used an unsecured email server for all official government business—a big no-no

Monday on CNN’s “The Lead,” Axios reporter Alex Thompson said Hunter Biden revealing his father, President Joe Biden, was on Ambien was “really striking.”
Host Jake Tapper said, “Hunter made headlines of his own in a more than three-hour-long interview on a podcast, touching on a number of issues, including the 2024 campaign. He vehemently defended his father while revealing a new detail about the debate.”
Hunter Biden said, “I know exactly what happened at that debate. He flew around the world basically and the mileage, he could have flown around the world three times. He’s 81 years old. He’s tired as *. They give him Ambien

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to demand the elimination of cashless bail, saying the policy has failed and is endangering public safety.
“Crime in American Cities started to significantly rise when they went to CASHLESS BAIL,” President Trump posted on Monday. “The WORST criminals are flooding our streets and endangering even our great law enforcement officers. It is a complete disaster, and must be ended, IMMEDIATELY!”
Trump’s message echoes concerns he has voiced repeatedly on the campaign trail. At a Bronx rally in May of last year, Trump decried “radical left pro-crime policies” that he said have “destroyed” cities like New York.
