Here's a common tactic of the legacy media: Find an activist with credentials in a field they haven't worked with in years, someone with a laundry list of made-up grievances, someone fundamentally bitter and angry, and have them speculate on some personal aspect of a person they've never met or spoken with. Case in point: CNN recently trotted out a Dr. Chris Pernell, a left-wing activist who hasn't practiced medicine since her residency, to remote-diagnose President Trump's chronic venous insufficiency. It should come as no surprise that she immediately started crying the president's doom.

A sweeping new bill to create a Cabinet-level Secretary of the Coast Guard has cleared committee and is ready to head for a vote on the House floor. Congress and the Department of Homeland Security want to elevate the Coast Guard to better match the stature of other military branches, especially as it takes on growing roles in stopping illegal migration and drug trafficking under the Trump administration.
Representative Mike Ezell (R-MS), Representative Sam Graves (R-MO), Rick Larsen (D-WA), and Salud Carbajal (D-CA) introduced the Coast Guard Authorization Act on July 2nd, and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed the measure on July 15th.

Authorities in Bermuda said Tuesday that they arrested four U.S. cruise ship passengers accused of drug possession.
Police said in a statement that the suspects had a “significant quantity of illegal drugs” including cannabis and carfentanil, which experts say is 100 times more potent than fentanyl and is used to tranquilize elephants.
“This seizure may have prevented a potential tragedy,” said acting Detective Superintendent Derricka Burns.

An appeals court has overturned a New Jersey sanctuary law that attempted to ban state and local agencies, as well as private contractors, from partnering with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain illegal aliens in detention centers.
On Tuesday, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a 2-1 decision that New Jersey’s law, known as AB 5207, “interferes with the federal government’s core power to enforce immigration laws” by banning state and local agencies and private contractors from working with ICE to operate detention centers for illegal aliens.

A little boy in Newaygo County, Michigan, was pulled back from the brink of death on Saturday thanks to the quick action of a state trooper.
After a call came in about the four-year-old not breathing after he was found face down in water, Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper Casey Deater arrived at the scene on East 88th Street, WWMT reported on Tuesday.
During a recent interview, Deater told WWJ the child was pulled out of the water near a dock and “I just remember running as fast as I could” with a device used for CPR. [Tweets]

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have arrested an illegal alien with a lengthy rap sheet, totaling 21 prior criminal convictions.
On Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials announced the arrest of several illegal aliens, including 52-year-old Federico Fong-Nunez of Mexico.
Fong-Nunez has been convicted of 21 different crimes in Boulder, Colorado, including burglary, aggravated assault, and felony menacing.
