Trump sharpens the ax for the Education

The largest employer in the United States isn't a Fortune 100 company like Alphabet, Amazon or Apple. It's the federal government − and that's a problem. Thankfully, President Donald Trump continues to slash bureaucratic bloat. On July 11, the administration sent layoff notices to more than 1,300 State Department workers, and three days later, the Supreme Court allowed Trump to move forward with plans to gut the Department of Education. That's bad news for government employees, but great for taxpayers, especially given the Education Department's expense − $268 billion in the last fiscal year − and its lack of effectiveness.

Wait! David Hogg just went through the system, graduated from a good high school and has a degree from Harvard. He would be the ideal person to run Education and to implement all of the newest ways of thinking. Think of all the students who would turn out like him.

Close DOE completely. The lesbians who staff DOE need to find some other way to vent their self-inflicted rage.

The Dept of Education needs to stick around until all males are kept out of female-only spaces and ALL PDT initiatives are followed. Perhaps 10-20 lawyers are needed to sue states/districts for non-compliance. Sec'y Linda will document and publish all the wayward dealings. It will be fun!

To the contrary, Ms. Nicole Russell. If only the Ed. Dept. had really "[lacked] effectiveness." In fact, it has been dreadfully effective in ruining the learning and lives of countless children, as part of a grand design to keep poor people a class of dependents, to abolish patriotism and love of our glorious American history, to sexualize and at the same time infantilize the young so as to make them as dysfunctional as possible. I could go on but I'll stop with this item: The Dept. of Education crowned the teachers' union with absolute power, and power that has corrupted our educational system absolutely.

Key Russia Hoax Claim

Top officials working on an intelligence community analysis about Russia’s interference in the 2016 election were overruled by CIA Director John Brennan, according to records exclusively reviewed by The Federalist. The records are related to ongoing criminal investigations into Brennan and other top intelligence officials for their roles in launching the Russia collusion hoax. The dispute was over the “key judgment” in a January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that Russia had interfered in the election specifically because Putin and the Russian government “aspired to help President-elect Trump’s election chances.” The senior intelligence officials pointed out the lack of evidence to substantiate

A recent Rasmussen poll revealed that 60 percent of Democrats still believe the debunked claim that President Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russians to win the 2016 election. Can such people be disabused of this delusion by DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s Friday revelation that former President Obama helped launch that hoax in an attempt to undermine the first Trump administration? Not if they still listen to the legacy media. Gabbard has the receipts and plans a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, yet the news outlets that peddled the Russia collusion hoax dismiss her charges.

It is no longer debatable that President Trump’s second term is remarkable for its historic and rapid accomplishments. During the first six months of 2025, he has secured the southern border, brought prices down on energy and food, begun deporting violent illegal immigrants, used tariffs to produce the first monthly budget surplus the nation has seen in years, made his 2017 tax cut permanent by signing the “Big Beautiful Bill” into law, ad infinitum. There’s little reason to expect this momentum to slow down in the rest of Trump’s term unless the Democrats win the House of Representatives in 2026.

When Elon Musk started bellyaching about the “One Big Beautiful Bill” he revealed why his influence on the Trump administration was destined to be short-lived. Like most billionaires, he is accustomed to getting what he wants when and how he wants it. He has no patience with the excruciating political process and the necessary compromises that must be endured to produce a piece of legislation like the bill Trump signed into law on July 4. In this regard he has much in common with the late Ross Perot, whose destructive foray into national politics proved so disastrous for the Republican Party and the nation at large.

After being in this business for thirty years, if I've heard it once, I've heard it a thousand times by Democrats. If X happens, or this or that person gets elected, people will die. You'd think this tactic would be reserved for the most extreme of issues or candidates, but with today's Democratic Party, it's not the final arrow in their quiver, it's often times the first one they reach for in order to convince you to not do something. Remember when Mitt Romney ran for president in 2012? This was a couple years after the passage of the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare.
Mamdani’s grocery scheme is foolish

Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani has a lot of dumb ideas. Of course, these days that’s pretty much assumed when you hear the words “Democratic mayoral nominee.” But — though the competition is stiff — the dumbest of his ideas may be his plan for government-run grocery stores. In fact, it’s so obviously a terrible idea that even Democrats seem to know it. So there must be another agenda, and I think I know what it is. Business owners across New York City and the nation have denounced Mamdani’s plan as a Soviet-style disaster. “You can’t force us to pay taxes and then be our adversary,” said Bronx bodega owner Rafael Garcia.

Zohran Mamdani says he is not a Communist. We'll come back to that claim in a moment, but first, let me remind you that he also says he's not a supporter of defunding the police. He calls that allegation a fear tactic and a right-wing smear from MAGA billionaires. But he's called for NYPD to be defunded many, many times. In other words, he sees the reading of his own quotes aloud as something of a sinister lie, or whatever. Look at his assertion in a recent mayoral debate below, then compare that to what he's said. Repeatedly. And publicly.

Last Friday’s Supreme Court ruling in Trump v. CASA finally ended what many of the President’s supporters saw as a “judicial insurrection.” Upon assuming office, President Trump issued a number of executive orders involving a variety of issues. They were immediately challenged by lawsuits filed in a select group of district courts, virtually all of which issued universal injunctions that seriously impeded implementation of the President’s agenda. Such injunctions have long been criticized by numerous legal scholars and several members of the U.S. Supreme Court, including Justice Kagan.

Barack Obama has broken his silence on calls from Donald Trump for him to be prosecuted by unequivocally rejecting his successor’s accusations that he tried to engineer a “coup” following Trump’s 2016 election victory by “manufacturing” evidence of Russian interference. Obama’s office took the unusual step of issuing an emphatic refutation after Trump told reporters that his predecessor had “[tried] to lead a coup” against him and was guilty of “treason” over intelligence assessments suggesting that Russia had intervened to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton in the campaign. “Out of respect for the office of the presidency,

California’s new $20-per-hour minimum wage for fast food workers has resulted in a significant decline in employment in that sector, leading to 18,000 fewer jobs than would have been the case otherwise. That’s according to a new paper released by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) this month, which said: We analyze the effect of California’s $20 fast food minimum wage, which was enacted in September 2023 and went into effect in April 2024, on employment in the fast food sector. In unadjusted data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, we find that employment in California’s fast food sector declined by 2.7 percent
