We have been marking the first anniversary of the attempted assassination of the Republican presidential candidate. Judging from the reaction on social media, lefties regret only that the US Secret Service is too incompetent to pull off the eighty-sixing of Trump, while a not insignificant number of righties seem to believe it was just another spectacle for the rubes - with Trump surviving the closest call on TV since Ed Ames and Johnny Carson played Frontier Bris. In a certain sense, both are more normal reactions than the official version, in which all kinds of curious anomalies go entirely uninvestigated by either officialdom or the media.

Comments:

Worth a read. I hope this investigation isn't Epstein-d.

My considered advice, Mark, is to steer completely clear of multi-story buildings unless in the company of at least two trusted friends. Also, it might be helpful to have a panel of trusted psychologists interview you and publish an open letter to "whom it might concern", stating you are of sound mind and in very good spirits, no depression whatsoever. And don't forget, even food-tasters were of value back in the old days . With history rhyming if not repeating.

It's irrational not to strongly consider that someone left the Secret Service "back door" unlocked. And why wouldn't the CIA have used a foreign operative to find a US patsy to go in said "back door," or perhaps the "back door" was left open because an Iranian plot was already known.

We previously reported on the comments that Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz made about the "Epstein List" during an interview he did on former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s podcast. At that time, he spoke about names being suppressed, but said he was limited in what he could say because he was "bound by confidentiality from a judge and cases, and I can’t disclose what I know,” he added. Dershowitz explained in that interview that he had been falsely accused, as my colleague Bob Hoge reported. His comments might help answer some of the questions people have had

A federal judge in Los Angeles is trying to shut down ICE enforcement of the nation’s popular immigration laws on the claim that it is illegally “profiling” people in California. Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, issued two restraining orders late on Friday. Frimpong was nominated by President Joe Biden and is the daughter of two immigrants from Ghana. She was selected by both Harvard and Yale universities.[snip]The suspects’ race and ethnicity, their difficulty speaking English, their location at sites known for hiring illegal immigrants, and their class of work do not meet the “probable cause” requirement for arrests, the judge ruled.

Protesters and even California Gov. Gavin Newsom targeted Vice President JD Vance as he visited Disneyland with his family this weekend. Sharing a video of Vance with his family at the Southern California theme park, Newsom wrote, “Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t,” in a post on X on Saturday. Some 100 to 150 protesters gathered outside the gates of the “Happiest Place on Earth” to jeer Vance and his family on Friday and Saturday after his presence at the park was reported, according to the Orange County Register.

Officials have claimed that membership sign-ups to a swimming pool in the Swiss municipality of Porrentruy have increased significantly after authorities imposed a ban on foreigners. Last week, the Porrentruy Outdoor Swimming Pool announced that only those with a Swiss passport or a valid residence permit would be allowed access to the facilities following a spate of incidents involving migrants.[snip] A regular patron of the pool told the Swiss news outlet 20 Minutes that there have been frequent arguments between lifeguards and people with a “migrant background” — mostly young men of North African extraction — coming across the border in France over hygiene requirements, such as showering before entering the pool.

What happened to the Jeffrey Epstein case? It’s devolved into the unfinished horse meme. We were promised transparency, accountability, and the whole truth regarding the notorious sexual predator, alleged sex trafficker, and well-connected New York financier. Epstein was well acquainted with the world’s wealthy and influential families. In the summer of 2019, federal agents arrested him on sex trafficking charges. Joe Biden has always been a fabulist. Since he first stepped onto the national stage, he has woven myths about his life. Joe needed the gravitas of good grades and a solid academic background to move up the ladder of national politics, so he invented a student who never existed. Joe threatened to fight a man who asked about his academic chops and claimed he went to law school on “a full academic scholarship.” Except, he didn’t. He claimed he had three degrees from college. Except, he doesn't. He claimed he was in the “top half” of his law school class. Nope. He was in the “steerage” section

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to move ahead with plans to carry out mass layoffs at the Department of Education that were blocked by a federal judge. The conservative-majority court, without any explanation, granted an emergency application from the administration that blocks the federal judge's ruling. The court's three liberal members objected, with Justice Sonia Sotomayor writing a blistering dissenting opinion. "When the Executive publicly announces its intent to break the law, and then executes on that promise, it is the Judiciary’s duty to check that lawlessness, not expedite it," she wrote.

Uh oh. Democrat swamp rat Jamie Raskin has jumped on the Epstein conspiracy bandwagon, demanding AG Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino testify to Congress about the so-called Epstein files. After five days of escalating hysteria and chest-beating, including ultimatums to the president to “fire Blondi,” MAGA “influencers” have found themselves on the same side as Raskin, which, needless to say, is the wrong side. Schiff: “Mosquitos the size of drones. Babies sleeping on the floor. Rat chewing on wires. Overflowing trash. Broken showers.” Debbie: “People using toilets?” Wrong. Schiff: “No AC. No lawyers. We’ve noted before that today’s Democrats are operating with a mental deficit. A new poll further confirms they are a broken people. While it’s good for a cheap laugh, because they are often smug, condescending and hateful to those who disagree with them, their fragile psychological state poses a threat to the republic. A Rasmussen poll released Monday found that 60% of Democratic voters still believe “the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.” As disturbing as that is, 69% of those who self-identify as “liberals” believe Donald Trump conspired with Moscow to beat Hillary Clinton.

But it doesn’t matter what most Republicans want, because elections are won on the margins. I often disagree with Steve Bannon on policy, but his instincts for political tactics are razor sharp.
