After more than three decades on air, CBS announced on Thursday that its famed "Late Show" franchise is coming to a close. "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will officially come to an end in May 2026, according to the network, which said the decision to end the show was a financial one. "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," George Cheeks, the president of CBS and co-chief executive of Paramount, CBS's parent company, wrote in a press release. "It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount."

Comments:

The Late Show had been funny. Colbert never was.

Greg Gutfeld draws a larger share and audience than Kimmel, Fallon, and Colbert combined. They should cancel the other two losers and give up. Woke don’t sell!

Colbert's interview with Oprah where "god" made an appearance to urge her to run for president was appalling and totally unfunny. The demise of the Late Show is long overdue. I don't believe it when CBS stated it had nothing to do with performance or content. As #2 mentioned GG's audience share leaves the others in the dust.

Maybe, just maybe, the era of real / true comedy could return from the grave the Woke crowd buried it in and allow humans to be human once more - to laugh until it hurts and realize on a subliminal level that that which makes us laugh the hardest is that which comes closest to the deepest human truths. My next wish is that music could be restored to the heigths it use to strive for and the days of female, adolescent, self-absorbed boyfriend "music" takes its' place in the grave the Woke had buried comedy in!

I remember turning on Letterman's show once, many years ago. It was so stupid that I could FEEL my brain cells dying, so I quickly turned it off. I turned on 'C' once, and it was not only stupid, it was truly vicious and nasty, so I quickly turned it off also. Good Riddance to 'C'. May he take a Long Walk off a Short Pier. So the Network BigWig says it's a 'financial decision'.... I guess when no-one's watching and advertisers won't buy ads and the network is losing it's shirt as a result.... Yep, that's a 'Financial Decision'! As #5 said.... "Pull the Plug NOW!"

The only time Colbert was in the least funny was when he was at the Capitol with Eleanor Holmes Norton, a DC delegate but not in Congress. The House members were alerted to a vote on the floor; Norton and Colbert heard the tone. But Norton didn't have anywhere to go because she couldn't vote. Colbert noted that she couldn't vote. Tough stuff. One semi-funny moment. It's good that she can't vote. Everyone above is correct. Colbert ain't a comedian. He's an activist and an ass. He should be canceled now.

The Dem party and their minions seem to be crumbling, piece by piece, largely due to the fact that Trump never makes the mistake of bringing a knife to a gunfight. My concern is what will happen once he leaves office. Will the conservatives learn from Trump or will they revert to their "I am so afraid of being called a racist, sexist, or any -ist" ways?

#24: For those who were up *really* late, Craig Ferguson's show was pretty funny for a few years. He had the presence of mind to realize, though, that he'd taken it as far as it could go and wisely departed from the stage before the program devolved. The rest of these late night talking heads entered as comedians and are leaving as deadly-earnest -- and not funny -- clowns.

Fox News Digital has uncovered damning evidence that the Obama administration deliberately “manufactured and politicized intelligence” to push the now-debunked Russia election interference narrative, despite contradictory assessments from within the intelligence community itself.According to newly declassified documents that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released Friday, there’s “overwhelming evidence” that Barack Obama and his national security inner circle went to work immediately after Donald Trump’s stunning 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton. Their goal? Lay the foundation for the Trump-Russia hoax that would consume the nation for years. This wasn’t a matter of bad judgment; it was a calculated operation to delegitimize Trump’s presidency before it even began.

White House Trade and Economic Advisor Peter Navarro takes a well deserved victory lap on the latest U.S. consumer sales news. The Census Bureau report yesterday highlighted that consumer sales remain strong at +0.6%, significantly higher than all economists forecast [DATA HERE]. Retail sales growth is important because approximately two-thirds of the U.S. GDP growth is driven by consumer sales. With inflation low, retail sales high, and with a previously reported drop in U.S. imports, the ¹second quarter GDP is likely to be much stronger than anyone previously predicted. Thus, Peter Navarro is leaning forward against the naysayers. This is essentially a repeat of the 2017/2018 economic outcome

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board sent a straightforward message to President Donald Trump on Wednesday. In recent weeks, Trump has mulled over the idea of firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, railing against the head of the central bank that he has continued to criticize for holding interest rates at a relatively high level. According to reports, Trump on Tuesday had asked a group of House Republicans whether he should act on his threat, going as far as to pen a letter for his ousting — despite Powell being appointed by the president during his first term, and his stint wrapping up next year. But on Wednesday, the president dismissed plans

June 1 marked the 100th anniversary of Pierce v. Society of Sisters. On June 27, SCOTUS ruled 6–3 that Maryland parents who have religious objections can pull their children from public school lessons using “LGBTQ+ inclusive” storybooks. The Mahmoud v.
