The Chicago Tribune issued a grim warning to New Yorkers about electing a socialist mayoral candidate like Zohran Mamdani in a bombshell op-ed Monday, the day before the Empire State’s primary elections. The paper’s editorial board paints a bleak image of Mamdani, the 33-year-old Democratic socialist Queens assemblyman who leapfrogged the longtime front-runner, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in a stunning new poll released earlier in the day. [snip] The Tribune likened Mamdani’s buzzworthy campaign, which has garnered a historic amount of grassroots support, to that of embattled progressive Windy City Mayor Brandon Johnson, who took office in 2023.

Comments:

The Chi Trib compares mayor Johnson to Mamdani and finds the latter even worse.

How desperate it must be that in NYC, arguably the financial capital of the world, the unwashed masses wish to vote for a radical, Communist to be their Mayor?

When the liberal newspaper is saying that you are too liberal, and most likely worse than the current Chicago disaster of a mayor; you know it's bad. Unfortunately, AOC style liberals and socialists like Mamdani are blinded to their own stupidity.

Always remember...the democrats accuse US of being ...what they are...WE've witnessed this before...so when the crockette woman from the house talks about the gestapo...she's referring to herself....and AOC is no better....how these women can sit in MY House...and make rules that I must follow is beyond just political rhetoric...it's treason.....they are stupid enough to think they are more to the globalists ...than a means to an end.....

Help New York City Kill Itself 1 reply

If you haven’t been to New York City before, you missed it. It’s not destroyed, it’s just a mess and not worth visiting. You still could – it’s great place to take the family if you love the smell of fresh urine on hot concrete coupled with potent marijuana, because you smell that combination pretty much everywhere. The city is dying, and we should let it. Progressives are all in favor of assisted suicide, we should join them in the case of New York and help the city kill itself. Only a complete embrace of socialist/fascist/communist policies (and there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the three)

The LA County Sheriff’s Department has deleted a social media post calling the US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities “tragic” after being dragged online. “Our hearts go out to the victims and families impacted by the recent bombings in Iran,” the department wrote on X Sunday in a now-deleted post. “While this tragic event happened overseas, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is closely monitoring the situation alongside our local, state and federal partners.” The post sparked immediate outrage and was allegedly updated to exclude the part sending condolences to “the victims and families” and calling the US military airstrikes “tragic.”

She might be the She-Wolf of Wall Street. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-California) raked in between $7.8 and $42.5 million in 2024 — meaning her estimated net worth with venture capitalist hubby Paul Pelosi could now top out at $413 million, new financial disclosures showed. The staggering sum is an eye-popping jump from 2023, when financial disclosures showed the couple’s net worth topping out at a possible $370 million. Pelosi’s exact net worth is not known because lawmakers are only required to disclose ranges. Market research firm Quiver Quantitative, which estimates a single figure based on daily stock values it tracks, placed the pair’s 2024 worth at $257 million

A Department of State employee was fired after video footage surfaced that appeared to show him admitting he had given illegal migrants advice and helped them dodge deportation. The O’Keefe Media Group was informed in a statement by the Department of State that Arslan Akhtar, who had worked as a visa specialist for the agency, was “no longer employed by” the State Department. “The contractor is no longer employed by the U.S. State Department,” an official said. “Upholding the rule of law and protecting the integrity of our immigration system is essential, which is why the Department will launch a new contractor screening and vetting process.”

New York Democrats are reportedly trying to inflate the city’s share of seats in Congress and of federal funding by keeping illegal aliens in the federal 2030 census. The New York Times reported Thursday that “a coalition of elected officials, community activists, and labor and civic leaders in New York City” is planning ahead for the 2030 census, as Republicans push to have noncitizens excluded from congressional districting counts. New York Democrats fear they will lose at least two of their 26 seats in the House, according to the Times:

There’s a saying, “I won’t dignify that with a response.” Much of what Ilhan Omar says qualifies; however, it is requisite on U.S. patriots to address her putdown of the U.S. turning into “one of the worst countries.” It’s tempting to be vindictive toward such preposterous ingratitude, but that’s up to her voters (more on her district in a moment). But there’s some schadenfreude to relish: she’s very unhappy, and is not even a friend to herself. In fact, her warped thinking induces such negative emotions that she feels comfortable being mired in the squalid SQUAD — misery loves company. It would be preferable if she returned to Somalia,

This is a fair question from Matt Continetti, who recites some of the relevant quotations before posing it. I'll add to the list. President Bill Clinton described a nuclearlzed Iran as intolerable and signed the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, "which authorize[d] him to take punitive action against individuals or organizations known to be providing material aid to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs in Iran." President George W. Bush intoned in 2008 that "permitting the world’s leading sponsor of terror to possess the world’s deadliest weapon would be an unforgivable betrayal of future generations."

Zohran Mamdani, winner of the Democratic Party’s New York City mayoral primary, is overflowing with Marxist ideas of how to govern that are so lousy that it’s hard to believe he got more than his own vote in Tuesday’s election. Each of them is horrendous, from free bus services to rent control to punitive taxes on those who create prosperity, but none are quite so laughable as his proposal to establish a chain of city-run grocery stores. Mamdani’s campaign literature – overflowing with empty leftist jargon – says if elected he “will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit.”

Numerous outlets reported Wednesday on an early intelligence assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency suggesting the U.S. strikes only set Iran’s nuclear program back a few months. The White House strongly disputed the intelligence assessment and criticized the leakers within the intelligence apparatus. “This alleged ‘assessment’ is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community.
