As has often been said, the corporate press are nothing if not a predictable lot, and that has certainly been the case in the aftermath of Democrat Socialist Zohran Mamdani's apparent Democrat mayoral primary victory in New York City, with the swooning commencing even before former NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded defeat. We reported earlier, for instance, on how definitive proof existed well before the primary took place that the left's/MSM's latest "flavor of the month" was a genuine communist. And yet, instead of focusing on how troublesome it was that the guy who wants to be mayor of one of America's most iconic cities essentially wanted to destroy it,

Military commissaries are hardly the same thing. For one, Zohran's stores would be in a city where property is expensive. Refurbishing the stores would be hugely expensive with NY's contractor rates. Plus he claims these stores would not pay property taxes or any type of rent. LOL.

I wonder how the store staff would handle the store being swamped due to lower prices, followed by customers fighting over the inventory. Think of department stores on Black Friday, but in a government grocery store, every day could be Black Friday.

If the government is paying for the groceries to stock the shelves, it will end up like the government paying for college tuition, overpriced groceries paid for by the taxpayer.

If the commie gets elected, this will be fun to watch. Toss in the $30 minimum wage and the private stores will close. Talk about your food deserts. Not only no stores but no food either. Be interesting to see what the Hertz truck and trailer rental figures spike to. The crime surge alone will kill tourism and run major corporations out of the city taking the tax paying citizens with them.

These morons don't rasp that even if the idiots in the city government could be as efficient as the REAL grocers, they could only save 2% at best by being "non profit". So, your $100 grocery bill would shrink down to $98......pointless, especially since the city workers will be stealing 25% or more.

What could happen with city owned grocery stores? The grocery store prices are so low or free, legit grocery chains cant compete, leave area, stay far away. Then over time the city grocery begins to perform poorly, goes bankrupt, has degraded food, deplorable customer service. Why should management try hard, excel, to be a stellar enterprise? Theres no competition, citizens have no other choice. Even if it gets fixed, which it wont, too late damage is done-all other chains are gone.

Socialism always rears its ugly head because there’s always a fresh crop of idiots who believe it. Why? Because it promises Utopia. Of course, it never works, because it’s contrary to human nature. When it fails, as it always does, there’s always someone around to preach “it’s still a good idea - it’s just that the wrong people were in charge last time! WE can make it work!” This time, an entire city is ready to fall for it.

Zohran Mamdani says he is not a Communist. We'll come back to that claim in a moment, but first, let me remind you that he also says he's not a supporter of defunding the police. He calls that allegation a fear tactic and a right-wing smear from MAGA billionaires. But he's called for NYPD to be defunded many, many times. In other words, he sees the reading of his own quotes aloud as something of a sinister lie, or whatever. Look at his assertion in a recent mayoral debate below, then compare that to what he's said. Repeatedly. And publicly.

Last Friday’s Supreme Court ruling in Trump v. CASA finally ended what many of the President’s supporters saw as a “judicial insurrection.” Upon assuming office, President Trump issued a number of executive orders involving a variety of issues. They were immediately challenged by lawsuits filed in a select group of district courts, virtually all of which issued universal injunctions that seriously impeded implementation of the President’s agenda. Such injunctions have long been criticized by numerous legal scholars and several members of the U.S. Supreme Court, including Justice Kagan.

President Trump may be a second-term president now, but he hasn’t lost his penchant for surprising critics and supporters alike. No one could be sure what he would do about the Israel-Iran war. Had he played a role in setting it up, by duping the Iranians into believing he wanted to strike a “deal” to arrest their nuclear-weapons program? Or was he negotiating in good faith and blindsided by Israel? Would he involve America in the war or not? And if he did, would regime change in Tehran be his goal?

The British-based luxury and performance carmaker has had a rough go of it this century, but nothing could prepare anyone for the most bone-headed move in corporate history — and I don't mean Jaguar's woke "Reimagine" ad from late last year. Let me bring you up to speed. As recently as 2018, Jaguar sold 180,833 cars annually. Last year, they sold fewer than 33,000. In April — the most current sales figures available — Jag sold just 49 cars in the massive UK/Europe market. U.S. sales figures aren't available yet, but they aren't any better. Jaguar went from selling 1,961 cars a month to 49 in just six years.
