Consider the fact that all the people involved here are Muslims - fanatical Muslims. Romania is a Christian, European country. There is a BIG difference.

Agree w/ #1. Iran is a different dynamic. And most Iranians are Shiites, which puts them at odds with most of the Islamic world who are Sunnis. They have an extra axe to grind/chip on their shoulder which the radical regime has exploited to keep control.

Having lived in Romania during the Ceausescu regime and seeing it first hand, I can tell you that this article hits the nail on the head. The army had planned to video the execution of Nicolae and Elena to show on television for the Romanian people but, as Creque said, they couldn’t wait to shoot the odious couple and did it before the camera was rolling. What the Romanian people got to see was the bullet ridden bodies of the couple lying on the ground. And then they poured into the streets and celebrated Christmas openly for the first time in over 40 years. My prayer is that the Iranian army will also side with the people. Then maybe they will have a chance.

There are numerous videos* of President Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife Elena, hated perhaps more than her husband, in December 1989 in their last week of life. Nicolae, who had had many Romanians shot down in the street, gave a speech that was jeered, followed by their attempt to flee, their capture, one hour trial, and summary executions by eight eager shooters, some with automatic weapons, who must have won an executioners' lottery. Multitudes of Romanians wanted a part in the executions. Brutal dictator(s) since 1974, they perished with 120 bullets inside their bodies. That's what's called a smoke check. After blasting a vicious perp an unnecessary amount of times, some cops might call for an immediate smoke check, which is checking the many bullet holes to see if any smoke is coming out. If the bad guy has been shot absolutely to kingdom come by multiple shooters**, on rare occasions, smoke will rise from perforations in the corpse. The smokin' perp got his money's worth. So did Nicolae and Elena. * For example ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qf22th03U8 ** Best example was some pervert thinking he was going to a motel to molest a 14-year-old boy. He knocked on the motel room door with a pistol in his hand. Bad decision. There wasn't a child there, although there were five police officers, who opened up simultaneously. Smokin'!

Whereas the general modus operandi in legacy media is to smear RFK Jr. as an “anti-vaxxer” within the first sentence, the Washington Post courteously waited until the second paragraph to label RFK Jr. a “vaccine misinformation” spreader on its way to condemning him for cutting federal funding to Bill Gates’ global “vaccine alliance,” GAVI. The United States will halt its contributions to Gavi, the global alliance that works to expand access to vaccines for children in some of the world’s poorest countries, said Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Wednesday — a move that public health experts said would have deadly consequences.

Operation Midnight Hammer was a resounding success. It crippled Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It’s now a fact. With Israel securing total air supremacy, the odds of this being a successful military operation were significantly high. Our B-2 Bomber fleet carried out its run, delivered its target packages, and left. The Democrats’ reaction has been revolting or bordering on treasonous. Some sound as if they’re upset Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, lost its capacity to build nukes. Isn’t that what we all wanted? They chirped about illegal wars, which fell flat because we all remember Obama’s wars. Then, they clung to this low-confidence, preliminary, and unreliable intelligence estimate

This is a fair question from Matt Continetti, who recites some of the relevant quotations before posing it. I'll add to the list. President Bill Clinton described a nuclearlzed Iran as intolerable and signed the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, "which authorize[d] him to take punitive action against individuals or organizations known to be providing material aid to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs in Iran." President George W. Bush intoned in 2008 that "permitting the world’s leading sponsor of terror to possess the world’s deadliest weapon would be an unforgivable betrayal of future generations."

June 17, 2025, the recent 53rd anniversary of the Watergate break-in, should remind us of the scandal’s scurrilous aftermath. What was promised to be a new millennium of aggressive, yet punctilious, journalism turned out to be a continuation of the Washington Post‘s reckless, essentially untruthful, Watergate reporting, clearly biased in favor of Democrats. While Republicans in the wake of Watergate vowed to be beyond reproach, like Caesar’s wife, they were indeed generally rectitudinous but yet continued the same stupidity that ruined the Nixon administration. Because neither side addressed these failures, they persist today.

Untergang (Downfall, 2004) is a movie about the last days of the Hitler regime, including Hitler's nine-millimeter-and-cyanide honeymoon with Eva Braun. We are now looking at the final days of Iran's theocracy, which is likely to collapse by the end of the week; one week after Israel began military action. It is well known from history that, when a country's leaders flee the battlefield, the war is over for them. At Gaugamela in 331 B.C.E., the massive Persian army collapsed when King Darius turned his chariot to run from Alexander the Great, who was personally trying to kill him. Once his army saw him flee, it lost its will to fight

It was supposed to be economic Armageddon. That, at least, was the loud warning from academics, pundits, and many in the financial press. Tariffs, they said, would torch the American consumer, spike inflation, and crater confidence. Especially those tariffs President Donald Trump instituted on April 2 — Liberation Day. Instead, something else happened: nothing of the sort. Far from igniting the inflationary firestorm predicted by his critics, Trump’s sweeping tariffs — including a 10% universal import duty and targeted hikes on 90 nations — have coincided with the lowest inflation rate since early 2021. In a striking reversal of the narrative pushed by many economists,

Justice Amy Coney Barrett has gotten a bad rap lately for siding with the leftist wing of the Supreme Court on a few cases, but if you ever needed a reminder of why ACB was such a pivotal addition to the Supreme Court, look no further than her latest majority opinion, which brutally destroyed Ketanji Brown Jackson for her moronic dissent in Trump v. In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS decided that parents do have the right to opt their elementary school-aged (pre-K through 8th grade) children out of classroom instruction that may include materials on gender and sexuality. The three dissenters were Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson. Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel Alito states that the parents involved were likely to succeed in their claim that the school system, by not allowing the opt-out on LGBTQ-themed classroom activities, was an unconstitutional burden on their religious liberties.

As RedState reported, the Trump administration scored a major victory on Friday after the Supreme Court ruled that district court-level nationwide injunctions exceeded judicial authority. That will throw a wrench into the left-wing strategy of seeking universal relief in a select few left-wing jurisdictions across the country and hopefully return some actual balance to the separation of powers within the U.S. government. Of course, while the decision was a victory for common sense and for voters who would prefer judges not overstep their bounds to essentially operate as president, it was a defeat for Democrats who have relied on that abuse to remain in power even when they lose.
