Barbra Streisand Says She’s ‘Horrified’
Every Day by Trump’s ‘Chaos, Corruption,
and Cruelty’

In an interview with the Associated Press, Streisand revealed that she is teaming with artists including Sting, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Seal, and newcomers such as Icelandic pop star Laufey. But amid her efforts to tout her new album, Streisand could not resist popping off about the evils of Donald Trump — one of her favorite topics. The Yentl star told the AP that she has ongoing mental distress over the Trump administration. She even claimed that her worries about Trump may have caused her to pick some of the darker songs for her new album.

Comments:

Babs is upset because we have ignored her constant warnings about The Bad Orange Man.

She doesn't have TDS, she has Republican Derangement Syndrome. She lost her mind when Bush Jr won 25 years ago. Streisand, Miller and Cher were my favorite female vocalists in my youth. I bought every album that they put out until the election of 2000. All three of them lost their minds, got political and got nasty. I haven't spent a dime in a quarter century to support them. For that matter, my Hollywood boycott list gets longer every election. Just shut up and sing.

Women who suffer from extreme TDS are not aging well. I happened to come across a video of Kathy Griffin speed walking with another woman and Kathy seriously looked like the walking dead. Having suffered through 12 years of the Black Messiah’s rule, we know exactly how you feel, Babs. The difference is that we went on with our lives. We didn’t have the luxury of “mental distress,” as we had to take care of jobs and families. You’re always yammering on about women’s rights and how powerful women are, and yet you seem to have let a man control your thought processes.

I'm horrified by Barbra Stresiand's face. Honestly, she could shatter a mirror just by looking in it. Why is it that rich celebrities, people who could've only come into their fame and fortune in a capitalist society, seem to be the loudest voices against it? Roger Waters is another example, the 'pinko' in Pink Floyd, who hates Trump, capitalism, and Jews to boot. Trump stands for the USA, for capitalism, for traditional family values, and for common sense.

There is some acknowledgment above that she is a wonderful singer, and indeed she is. The fact that I believe she has a warped view of the world doesn't obligate me to deny her inarguable talent. For those who haven't seen it, I recently re-watched Peter Bogdonavich's "What's Up Doc?" It's as much fun as I remember from childhood. So many great performances; so many laughs. And right there in the middle is a scene I treasure: Ryan O' Neil's character takes refuge in the unfinished top floor of the hotel and, hiding under a tarp with a piano, is Streisand's character. They talk, they fall in love, he plays, and she sings. "As Time Goes By." Beautifully. Charmingly. Here's the thing. She didn't lip sync it. There was no studio recording. They set up microphones, her accompanist played just off camera, and she sang it live. For those who don't know, there's a reason they record the sound for songs separately in the movies. Filmed audio is brutal on any flaw in sung sound. Her performance is gorgeous. It's my favorite rendition of that song (and that's saying a lot because I love Dooley Wilson and the film Casablanca more than almost any other.) As much as I disagree with her politics, I'm grateful to her for that film and for that song. I wouldn't miss her if she left the United States. But I will miss her when she her talent is with us no more.

Decades ago Babs decided to do her bit to Save the Planet and posted some suggestions. One was instead of drying your clothes with an electric dryer to hang them on a line and let the wind dry your stuff. Reporters called and wanted to know when Ms Streisand was going to hang her wet clothes on a line for wind drying. Her spokesperson responded that she didn't mean she would use wind drying; it was just a suggestion for peons.

Back in the early years of his radio show, instead of saying something was "complete B.S." Rush Limbaugh would say "complete Barbra Streisand".... until the mid-90s, when Rush hinted on-air that he'd received "cease and desist" notices related to the use of a certain person's name and image. Woe to the Democrat Party. The once unified Democrat Party has fractured. They lost the 2024 election by a landslide. They even lost the popular vote, only the second time since 1988. The majority of men have taken their vote to the Republican Party. Hispanics now vote GOP, and Blacks?...they have split wide open, no longer a reliable Dem vote. Of the 14 states that do not require voter ID, Harris won 12 of them. Trump lost Colorado, but they say they require ID but don't require a photo ID. Pretty thin accomplishment.

The Supreme Court decisively ended lower courts’ ability to block policies issued by the Trump administration using nationwide injunctions on Friday. On his first day in office — of his second term, not his wasted first term — President Trump signed an executive order ending anchor babies, the practice of treating kids born to illegals on U.S. soil as full-fledged citizens. (Apparently, our Founding Fathers wanted to ensure that poverty-stricken third-worlders who force their way into our country would never have to leave.) Three federal district court judges promptly issued (you’ll never guess) nationwide injunctions blocking Trump’s order. The Supreme Court is expected to rule on those injunctions any day now. It may be that the anchor baby lunacy is . . .

A former staffer for former Presidents Bill Clinton and Joe Biden admitted Sunday that former Vice President Kamala Harris would not have displayed “the courage or fortitude” to take out Iran’s nuclear program. The United States struck sites in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan related to Iran’s effort to develop nuclear weapons early Sunday morning, using as many as 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators in the operation. Jamie Metzl, who served on the National Security Council staff during the Clinton administration and as a Senate staffer for Biden, said that while he backed Harris in the 2024 campaign, he was not a “blind tribalist” in a Sunday morning post on X.

After days of publicly mulling whether to join Israel in its military campaign against Iran, President Trump directed the U.S. military on Saturday to execute a complex attack on three of the nation’s nuclear sites with several American warplanes and submarines. Hours later, Mr. Trump declared the mission a “spectacular military success,” saying during a national address from the White House that U.S. forces had “completely and totally obliterated,” Iran’s nuclear program. “There’s no military in the world that could have done what we did tonight, not even close,” he said, standing in front of Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Washington — Former President Joe Biden will be in Galveston, Texas, on Thursday to join a Juneteenth Celebration Service at a historic African Methodist Episcopal Church. The event will be held at the Reedy Chapel AME Church, one of the locations where an order announcing the end of slavery in Texas was read on June 19, 1865, two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, according to the church. In 2021, Biden signed into law a measure that made June 19, or Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. Called the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act

It would be amusing if it weren't so serious. Last weekend's expressions of supposed free speech were almost universally called demonstrations by the media and "mostly peaceful" by some. In contrast, the Jan. 6, 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol was labeled an "insurrection" and "riot" by the media. A few congressional Republicans have called for an investigation after reports that some NGOs were used by foreign and liberal individuals and domestic organizations to funnel money that underwrote some of the expenses, like the cost of well-made signs.

The Earth could be doomed to breach the symbolic 1.5C warming limit in as little as three years at current levels of carbon dioxide emissions. That's the stark warning from more than 60 of the world's leading climate scientists in the most up-to-date assessment of the state of global warming. Nearly 200 countries agreed to try to limit global temperature rises to 1.5C above levels of the late 1800s in a landmark agreement in 2015, with the aim of avoiding some of the worst impacts of climate change.

The end is nigh. That seems to be the message this week from the three liberal justices at the Supreme Court when faced with the nightmarish prospect of parents being able to remove their young children from mandatory classes on gay, lesbian and transgender material. (Snip) Teachers were informed that this was mandatory reading, which must be assigned, and that families would not be allowed to opt out. The guidelines for teachers made clear that students had to be corrected if they expressed errant or opposing views of gender. If a child questions how someone born a boy could become
The recycling scam laid bare in California’s

Our South Carolina neighborhood has green cans for garbage and blue cans for recycling. All our neighbors dutifully separate their garbage. We don’t, and we don’t for a very specific reason. What I discovered a couple of years ago is that, while different trucks drive around collecting blue and green cans on garbage day, at the end of the shift, the trucks dump all the garbage into the same landfill. It’s a scam that, according to my local representative, makes people feel good about themselves. When I lived in Marin County, California, we also had to separate our garbage. That wasn’t surprising, though

Michelle Obama is back – just not on the political stage. At a time when the Democratic faithful are hungry for dynamic leadership, the former first lady is getting cozy and personal in a podcast called "IMO," a breezy hour-long celebrity chat co-hosted by her brother, basketball executive Craig Robinson. "I feel like at 60, this is the first time where all my decisions are for me," Obama said on her June 19 episode with radio show host Angie Martinez. With her daughters Sasha and Malia launched in their own young adult lives, "this is a period of freedom." Each week

Socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani doubled down on his plan to jack up property taxes on “richer and whiter neighborhoods” on Sunday — and also asserted that billionaires shouldn’t exist. Mamdani claimed that his soak-the-rich proposal was “not driven by race” — despite his campaign platform explicitly targeting white homeowners. “That is just a description of what we see right now. It’s not driven by race. It’s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being under-taxed versus over-taxed,” Mamdani told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

The Justice Department on Friday fired at least three prosecutors involved in U.S. Capitol riot criminal cases, the latest moves by the Trump administration targeting attorneys connected to the massive prosecution of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack, according to two people familiar with the matter. Those dismissed include two attorneys who worked as supervisors overseeing the Jan. 6 prosecutions in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington as well as a line attorney who prosecuted cases stemming from the Capitol attack, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss personnel matters. A letter that was received by one of the prosecutors was signed by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Girls don’t usually fight. There are sound reasons for this – reasons of general decorum, biology, hormones, jewelry, dresses and hairdos. But when they do, boy oh boy, it can be a doozy. It happened yesterday at the Supreme Court. The case was an appeal of a district court order issuing a “universal injunction” against President Trump’s executive order seeking to abolish “birthright citizenship.” Birthright citizenship is the kind you get if you’re born in America even if your parents are here illegally. The 14th Amendment seems to provide for it, although there is a non-frivolous argument that it does not.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday said it is terminating the deportation shield for more than 500,0000 Haitian nationals who entered the United States under the Biden administration. The agency, which shortened the duration of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for some 521,000 Haitians earlier this year, will terminate their status on Sept. 2. It came after the Supreme Court ruled on May 19 that the Trump administration could proceed with ending TPS for Venezuelans,(snip)The court, in a separate order on May 30, said that the administration could immediately revoke a separate status known as parole for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans.

Well this was certainly unexpected. The leftist Washington Post dropped a devastating op-ed Friday by its editorial board that ripped into democratic socialist mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani and said that he would be “bad for New York.” As we reported, the political novice won a shocking victory in Tuesday's Democrat NYC mayoral primary, beating disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo and putting himself in prime position for the November general election. Usually the liberal rag is little more than a mouthpiece for the DNC, so to see them go after a Democrat this hard is a stunner and reveals two things:

Intercepted Iranian communications downplayed the extent of damage caused by US strikes on Iran's nuclear program, the Washington Post reported on Sunday, citing four people familiar with classified intelligence circulating within the US government. A source, who declined to be named, confirmed that account to Reuters but said there were serious questions about whether the Iranian officials were being truthful, and described the intercepts as unreliable indicators. The report by the Post is the latest, however, to raise questions about the extent of the damage to Iran's nuclear program. A leaked preliminary assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency cautioned the strikes may have only set back Iran by months.

The ascendancy of Zohran Mamdani to challenge Eric Adams for the crown of the leader of New York City has many a resident looking for the exits. Now my cohorts, Brandon Morse and Ward Clark, have offered up warning labels about their respective states of Texas and Alaska as possible landing spots for those fleeing the promised political oppression, but allow me to string up some tropical warning tape at the northern border of Florida.
