The Justice Department on Friday fired at least three prosecutors involved in U.S. Capitol riot criminal cases, the latest moves by the Trump administration targeting attorneys connected to the massive prosecution of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Those dismissed include two attorneys who worked as supervisors overseeing the Jan. 6 prosecutions in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington as well as a line attorney who prosecuted cases stemming from the Capitol attack, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss personnel matters.
A letter that was received by one of the prosecutors was signed by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

I would have preferred that they be indicted, but firing will work for now.

So the Asspress used 'anonymous' sources. Its says the Dept of Justice is independent of the White House. I thought the President was the the head of all departments in the Executive branch. Where does the Constitution say the Dept of Just-Us is a separate and independent agency? Also the 'anonymous' sources just say that attorneys were fired. Doesn't go e a cause. Doesn't mention if Trump was involved or not. But the AssPress states the 'Trump Administration' is shattering norms. What norms and how does the AssPress know the reasons for the firing yet doesn't state it. Is it possible that the Department of Just-Us haS incompetent or unethical prosecutors? Or is every single attorney in the Dpet of Just-Us clear as the driven snow? This is an opinion hit piece without sufficient facts. It's the usual prevarication. Part of the truth I( firings) to hide the true agenda (unsubstantiated claims as facts).

Calling Jan 6 an "attack" gives away the rest of the story. But at least it is an improvement from insurrection.

Usual AP pearl clutching.
The Left is aghast that their pet imbedded agents are being weeded out and removed from government. It is abundantly clear that the J6 prosecutions were unfair and even criminal. People that supported them within the government shouldn't continue to work within the government.
And guess what? Almost everyone serving in the Executive branch serves AT THE PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT. Trump doesn't need to have a reason for dismissing people. It's not a discussion. If Trump doesn't want them there, they are gone. Dem Presidents have done this in the past and no angst was expressed by media.
Trump wants strong supporters of Conservative justice in the Justice Department. The prosecutors involved with J6 do not qualify. Period.
It's always fun to see the AP's feathers get ruffled.

Indict, try, convict, and throw into one of the now vacant January 6th 'oubliettes'. Let them simmer for 4 years.

Won't give AP the click. But, there should be a line of DOJ attorneys, especially supervisors and managers, fired for their corruption of the law, not just three. Now speed up the pace, Pammy.

Yes, AP. Trump is very ‘norm shattering’. That’s why we voted for him. Still don’t get it, do ya.

They should have self fired, but since they didn't have the decency and because of what they did, they should find themselves in the same place they put those January 6 victims. When do we see real justice?

I have heard nothing about this in the news. Let's watch and see if they go their merry way with big retirement in hand or if they are made to pay for what they did to so many lives for no reason.

Seems that WE the people are to believe the ASSPRESS',,,,"anonymous sources"?....Since President Trump... is so good at "managing" the fake news......more and more anonumous sources are being given the benefit of the doubt by the never Trumpers' deranged syndrome fools....it's comical to watch ...President Trump calls them out at his daily briefings...and cuts them off at the pass....and Pete Hegseth laid Jennifer Griffin of Fox fame out to dry....

The entirety of the Biden DOJ was working on J6 or other anti-Trump cases, so any dismissals would be seen as retribution by Trump. These prosecutors kept J6ers in a DC gulag for 4 years without bail, the majority guilty at worse of a trespassing misdemeanor, and most innocent detainees.

How about 3 firings per DAY until the stench of these prosecutors has been removed from the DOJ? And then........ the prosecutions of the prosecutors must begin. These individuals need to face REAL (and swift) justice. I consider that to be non-negotiable.

Look for a rogue judge to intervene, the Democrats in Congress to launch an investigation and recommend impeachment, and RIINOs to be 'very concerned'.

They should be put into the same cells that they put the January 6 defendants in, for about two years, then let them loose.

If only the bubble residing AP reporter could see the obvious bias in her article. Anyway, when Obama took office, he reworked the DOJ, installing many social justice warriors who believed in equity not truth or justice. A Black senior career attorney left, saying there was no more justice at Justice. As for the shameful January 6th prosecutions, it would be justice if the related pardons are held to be invalid, and real justice came to the monstrous individuals who so misused their prosecutorial power to destroy the lives of so many people, including those who weren't even involved with January 6th, as well as the many innocent bystanders and the perfectly legal protesters. Additionally there was the consistent overcharging, to the point where even the anti-Trump judges, were reducing recommended sentences. The prosecutions in connection with January 6th will forever be a stain on America.

@#2 - The Dumpster Media always refers to the DOJ as an independent agency, so as to stir up the Left and confuse everyone else into thinking the WH should have no control. It's no different than the Dems calling the US a 'democracy' instead of a constitutional republic.

It doesn't matter who the individuals are, the Deep State thinks with a hive mind and they only did what the Biden Cabal ordered them to do. How dare they deny the Hildebeast her turn. That outrage started the ball rolling.
