Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed victory over Israel and said his country had “delivered a hand slap to America’s face” on Thursday, in his first public comments since a ceasefire was declared in the war between the two countries.
Khamenei spoke in a video broadcast on Iranian state television, his first appearance since June 19.
He told viewers that the U.S. had only intervened in the war because “it felt that if it did not intervene, the Zionist regime would be utterly destroyed.”
But he said, however, that the U.S. “achieved no gains from this war.

And in other news, Herr Chancellor Hitler said that the Sixth Army had deliverd "a slap to the face" of Stalin's Soviet Red Army troops in Stalingrad and shown those lousy Bolsheviks who's boss! He said he can't wait for the next time the USSR tries to challenge Nazi hegemony in the Balkans. And he added, "just wait until those Americans try to cross the Channel into France! The Waffen SS will annihilate them before they have a chance to get a toehold on the French coast."

They may not have got to Khamenei (Hominy) yet, but you know his lower intestines are well cleaned out, colonoscopy clean, probably involuntarily. Keep running until they get ya, filthy cleric. Hear that hum? It's a drone. Tick tock, towelhead.

The clerics are perfectly happy marching to the death of Iran. They believe in the 72 virgins in paradise.
I am more concerned with what Iran's military thinks.
No military support, no clerics.

Iran has received nothing for the many trillions they have burned away on their proxies and nuclear program in their efforts to destroy Israel. Israel is still here, Iran has an inflation rate of 40%, and all their people live in poverty. Iran must decide if they want to stick with the mullahs, Khamenei, and eat dirt, or get someone that knows how to run their country. Iran's proxies have not been supporting them, because Iran is out of money to pay them, and Israel has bombed them back into their caves.

Having lived and worked in the Middle East over a period of 10 years I always wondered why the concept of lying appeared foreign to that part of the world. Came across a book titled "The Closed Circle: An Interpretation of the Arabs" by David Pyrce-Jones that explained this pretty much universal phenomenon in the Arab world - seems that the fundamental condition to avoid there at all cost is "shame" and avoiding shame allows for / bestows "honor". Right / wrong, truthful / dishonest, dependable / unreliable count as nothing relative to avoid shame (weakness) / pursue honor (defined as avoiding shame). Given the Supreme Leader's comments you can see that he, and the whole culture in that part of the world, is caught up on a merry-go-round that is going no where. The problem for the Arabs, and their cousins in the area, is that Israel is in their midst and shames them by both its very existence AND its success as a modern, progressive country that owes no allegiance to Allah. This belies the Koran's promise that the Arabs would rule this world, a shaming event that can't be tolerated on either the individual or national level - it is the only thing holding these Sunni & Shiite nations together and the Apocalypse is preferable to admitting that Allah was wrong (the Ultimate Shame)!

Thanks for the comment #17. I would add that the Iranians are not Arabs. They are a race distinct from the Arabs. They are Persian. They are united with Arabs by their religion, Islam. The avoidance of shame is common to Muslims. I experienced it when I had to confront an Egyptian (Arab) over a serious error he had made, potentially costing my company 10’s of millions. We did not accept his analysis. He resigned rather than admit he was wrong.
I am still puzzled by this cultural “ethic”, but am aware of it when dealing with Muslims.

We have politicians here who will tell you that the red truck in front of you is green too.
The problem is those voters who are color blind and continue to vote for the liars.
Unlike in Iran where they really get no say in the matter of who is in leadership.

My experience indicates that the "shame" thing is pretty much an Arab and their areal cousins (Persian) "thing". Muslims in Asia don't appear to share this trait. I also noticed that where you stand in the social hierarchy had a lot to do with where "shame" ultimately fell - in poorer countries like Egypt, the person at the top never suffered from shame but those beneath him (it appears to be tied to the males) where expected to fall on their swords so to speak to save the master - the lower on the social rung the more "shame" you were suppose to take / tolerate - no unlike "sin eaters' of the past. In richer countries like Saudi Arabia, etc. (those with lots of oil) pretty much every Muslim in good standing avoid shame like the plague and pass it on to the lower-end foreign workers (typically from Egypt and Pakistan). PS - NEVER touch a Muslim from this part of the world with your left hand or show them the bottom of your shoes while sitting!
