California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) threatened Friday that his state would stop tax payments to the federal government, after news reports suggested President Donald Trump was thinking of cutting funds to the state. As Breitbart News noted earlier in the day, reports emerged suggesting that the Trump White House was considering cutting federal funding to California due to its challenges to, and defiance of, federal policy.
Breitbart News reported:
President Donald Trump is reportedly considering ways to pull more federal funding from the State of California, as Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) continues to defy White House policies, despite needing money.

I like to check out some of the Hollywood sites for the comedic value. The commenters there think the whole nation would immediately collapse and beg California for forgiveness - which they shouldn't give - if Newsom does this. Like I said, pure comedic value.

Are CA and the US treasury just exchanging tax revenues? Why bother, let Newsom fend for himself.

When things to rightfully sour in California, Governor Gavin "Gruesome" Newsom will start with- It's Trump's Fault. Gruesome knows that he possess the power over the many millions of sickos and feral low information voters in California. The vast number of toxic and corrupt MSM "journalists" will back up the lies from Gruesome. Maybe we'll hear a peep from the Republicans. Expect Maxine Waters(the recently reelected August 15, 1938 age 86), the congressperson to lead the charge with a megaphone and wig.

Go for it, Gov. Hairgel! We decided in the mid 19th century that states don't get to nullify federal law, so you can expect to be handcuffed by federal Marshals and jailed in another state (without bail) pending your trial -- which should be an open and shut case.

Honestly, I hope they get away with it. Then the precedent will be set, and ALL states can start to withhold money to the feds!!! Ignore federal rulings and laws too!!!
That means the Confederacy will have won the war after all. It just took 160 years to finally declare victory!!!
Seriously, Cuba-fornia is playing with fire with President Trump in charge!!! It should be sweet to watch them crash and burn!!!!!

I'm sure California would suffer a much greater loss than the US Treasury. Tell the mathematically and ethically-challenged Newsom that it's a deal.

I wonder what the money flows are..... individuals send their federal income tax payments directly to the IRS, business entities too. There are probably some taxes which the federal government gets to state governments to collect for it ......
Is that sign post up ahead the Trump FAFO zone? I think that could be an educational moment.

A lot of world power players keep lining up to take their turn in PDJT's FAFO game. Which will be the first to learn vicariously not to take the bait? And, no, I didn't expect Governor Gruesom to have the wisdom for that...

If he goes down this path all payments for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, government funding for colleges and universities as well as SNAP and other welfare programs should be stopped immediately. All federal offices and courts should be shuttered. I am sure there are other forms of our money that can be saved. Let Newsome face a bunch of angry voters.

What an opportunity. Encourage all the lefties and weirdos to flee to CA for "sanctuary", assist the honest normies to move out, get CA to succeed, conquer it, and either expell the trouble makers or put them detention camps, and put CA into "US territory" status without voting rights.

The list of U.S. military and federal research facilities in California, all contributing in an outsized manner to California's economy, is quite large, and they can all be relocated to other (Red) states. Just relocating the handful of major Air Force bases in California, like Travis, Beale, March, McClellan, Los Angeles, Vandenberg and the legendary Edwards AFB, would be devastating to the state's economy. Then there are the huge Navy bases, Army installations, and of course Marine Corps bases, such as Camp Pendleton, 29 Palms, Miramar, Barstow, and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, one of the largest military training centers in the world. And then there are the federal research centers and national labs, largely connected to NASA and the Department of Energy, like the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena and the Lawrence Livermore National Lab in the Bay Area . I believe that many of the aforementioned facilities should be relocated out of California, regardless of whether Newsome is bluffing on withholding tax payments back to the federal government, especially since it is US tax dollars that funds large segments of California's economy in the first place. As a brazen "sanctuary state," having sensitive military and federal research facilities in pro open borders and Communist China-friendly California, is an inherent security risk. The list of facilities is not comprehensive but came off the top of my head due to familiarity with them from childhood throughout my working career. Not being as familiar with the Army, I did not cite the many Army forts, camps, and other installations. Coast Guard also maintains large base facilities in CA. Curtail or eliminate the state's overly massive influx of federal dollars, and California might be on par with Bangladesh as far as global economic ratings.
