Fox News Primetime Is Now Bigger than

Everybody has been laughing at CNN's skydive without a parachute, and we all had a chuckle when the ratings came out that showed that CNN's viewership is now about 1/6th that of Fox News. After all, who would have predicted that the publicity push for Jake Tapper's "Original Sin" (apologies to Alex Thompson, who co-wrote the book and is an actual journalist, but nobody cares about non-celebrities anymore) wouldn't give CNN a bump or two in the ratings? I expected it would have, since any publicity is good publicity if you are looking for ratings. So it's funny that the more people see Jake Tapper, the less interested they are

"transnational corporations ... they want customers who are of the better sort." The rest of the world turns their noses up to Americans. They are the "elite", yet it is baffling to us why they deserve to be considered so. We are more "salt of the earth". Yet we have the purchasing power they need and they hate us for their dependance on us. They also know that markets can be fickle. Say or do something that alienates your market and they will pack up and leave you, no matter how "special" you are. Bud Lite anyone? It's great that CNN and the abc networks are finally moving toward the ratings they deserve. Once the fall started, it seems like it is unstoppable and their obnoxious "talent" insists on making it even worse because they want to be considered "elite" as well. But they just aren't. They are all poseurs trying to be like other poseurs, a bad copy of a bad copy, with nothing to back it up.

It's Newsman only in our house. Love Rob Schmirr, Rob Finnerty, and Greg Kelly week nights. It's. Mike Savage on Sunday nights, and that Rob Carson "What in the World" right after Savage Nation is a stitch and a half. We DVR Rob Carson so we never miss him. He's a hoot!

Doesn't surprise me. I watch The Five and Gutfeld! religiously. The only shows I watch on the alphabet channels (aside from sports, primarily NASCAR and football) are Survivor and The Amazing Race. Food Network, Discovery Channel, and Smithsonian Channel get most of the rest of my viewing time.

Glad for Fox News, and particularly glad the likes of ABC, NBC and CBS are in the rearview mirror. CNN has been a joke for decades it's just they're figuring it out now. I'm not sure how much longer they'll have success at Fox News though due to Lachlan Murdoch likely influencing the lineup/content in the years to come. Gutfeld is funny and informative, but see the previous sentence. I mainly watch Newsmax, typically Higbie, Schmitt, and Finnerty most weekdays. Hopefully, Newsmax will vault to the head of the pack with their accurate reporting. Time will tell.

I just rewatched exhibit 300,000 about why CNN primetime gets beaten by Thundarr the Barbarian reruns on Boomerang. A host and Jamele Hill were basically saying why in the past Olympics a woman boxer gave up after being hit by a man posing as a woman. Now it has recently been confirmed that the man was actually a man. Imagine that. As for ABCCBSNBC did anyone know that Norah O'Donnell and Lester Holt aren't hosting their evening shows. Yeah, me neither as no one watches them anymore. Heck I only watch CBS primetime and that's not going to be the case because they keep cancelling good shows like Blue Bloods. While the keep long in the tooth slop like Survivor and shows like NCIS: Sydney. Good news for Fox but I haven't fully watched them since O' Reilly got the boot. That channel will never be great again because of two reasons, Lachlan Murdock and Paul Ryan. Two of the biggest leftist putzes to ever be involved in a tv network. That's why its Newsmax for me from now on.

I enjoy Newsmax in the evenings - Rob Finnerty, Greg Kelly and Rob Schmidt. I don't mind Greta Von Susteren but usually don't turn the TV on that early. I have seen Dr. Savage on some of their shows but haven't watched his own show. I will have to check out Rob Carson. I have seen him but never watched his show. There is one at 9:00 central that I turn on the mute and read my book.

Joe Rogan released a new podcast featuring FBI Director Kash Patel today. At one point in the discussion Patel revealed that his house "just got swatted yesterday." These comments came about 30 minutes into the two-hour interview at the end of a long discussion of Russiagate. Patel didn't say he was blaming the swatting on anyone in particular but the implication was that this was one part of a larger campaign of harassment that has been directed his way because he has turned over documents about Russiagate to congress.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) threatened Friday that his state would stop tax payments to the federal government, after news reports suggested President Donald Trump was thinking of cutting funds to the state. As Breitbart News noted earlier in the day, reports emerged suggesting that the Trump White House was considering cutting federal funding to California due to its challenges to, and defiance of, federal policy. Breitbart News reported: President Donald Trump is reportedly considering ways to pull more federal funding from the State of California, as Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) continues to defy White House policies, despite needing money.

The Supreme Court on Friday handed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) two major victories in its expanding legal battle over drastic efforts to reshape the federal bureaucracy. In two separate emergency rulings issued simultaneously, the court lifted a block on DOGE personnel accessing sensitive Social Security Administration (SSA) systems and wiped a ruling forcing DOGE to turn over discovery in a records lawsuit. Both rulings appeared to be along the Supreme Court’s ideological lines,

Employers in the United States added 139,000 workers to their payrolls in May, the Department of Labor said Friday, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.2 percent. Economists had been expecting 125,000 jobs and an unemployment rate unchanged at 4.2 percent. President Donald Trump’s program of shrinking the federal government is showing signs of progress. Employment in the federal government fell by 22,000 in May and is down 59,000 since January. The private sector added 140,000 jobs, more than the 120,000 forecast.

Texas on Tuesday removed BlackRock (BLK.N), opens new tab from a list of companies seen as boycotting the energy industry, a step the New York asset manager won only with steep cuts to its climate ambitions. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said the decision reflected BlackRock's retreats from industry climate groups like the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative. He also noted how the firm has lowered its support for shareholder environmental resolutions and backed a new Texas Stock Exchange. BlackRock "has acknowledged the real social and economic costs, both here in Texas and globally, that come from limiting investment in the oil and gas industry," Hegar said in a statement.

Former President Bill Clinton said Thursday on ABC’s “The View” that he was “worried” the “courts won’t hold until we have the midterm elections” when asked about his concerns over President Donald Trump. Co-host Sunny Hostin said, “Mr. President, I agree with you, we need to talk about the future. And beyond President Trump’s big, beautiful bill, he is working to dismantle, in my view, our foundational institutions, right? He’s intimidating law firms and universities, he’s stifling media, he’s illegally disappearing people and deporting people. And he’s now threatening to impeach judges. So are you confident that the courts will hold? And what concerns you most about what he’s doing now?”

Sure, when President Joe Biden was behind the Resolute Desk, they could say and do what they wanted willy-nilly. One of those orgs. that got the wrong message is the International Criminal Court (ICC). It's been a mixed year for Second Amendment advocates, but on Thursday, came a significant win from the Supreme Court on that front. The Court announced a decision in "Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., Et Al. Petitioners v. Estados Unidos Mexicanos." In this case, Mexico in effect sued American gun manufacturers for the plague of violence that is sweeping Mexico. The Supreme Court, in its decision, noted that Mexico's case runs afoul of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, or PLCA. Best of all, the decision was unanimous. Here's the main point of the decision: Because Mexico’s complaint does not plausibly allege that the defendant gun manufacturers aided and abetted

In the debate about which U.S. President has the record for deporting the most illegal aliens, it looks like former Pres. Obama still holds the title. The UK Independent did an in-depth look into the question in late 2024, just after Trump was elected to a second term. The outlet produced this confusing graph. For our purposes, the red bars at the bottom are what we would consider to be deportations: involuntary departures facilitated by a formal order. “Returns” come in a variety of flavors and include people leaving voluntarily (a good thing). The rest of the figures in the blue, light blue, and pink bars represent

Military families homeschool their children at about twice the rate of the general population. About 12% of military kids are homeschooled, pointing to the many advantages of giving children continuity in a job given to frequent relocation. Otherwise, the same issues that drive non-military parents to homeschool their kids apply, including academic quality, ideology, flexibility, and safety concerns. Realizing this, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memorandum in May directing subordinates to conduct a review of what their departments are doing to support homeschooling in the military. "Homeschooling offers an individualized approach for students and highlights the significant role parents play in the educational process. I hereby direct

China doesn't have the best track record when it comes to batteries for things like electric cars and scooters. In fact, some of these Chinese lithium batteries have an unpleasant tendency to become explodey. Granted, this is a problem with batteries like this in general, but China's quality control standards in general are, shall we say, not the greatest. From steel to batteries, China just doesn't quite measure up. Case in point: Now a ship carrying 3,000 cars from China to Mexico, 800 of them electric vehicles, is off the coast of Alaska, abandoned, burning, and spewing toxic smoke. How "green" is that?
