Angry Angelenos want to filet this bass. More than 50,000 outraged Los Angeles residents demand the ouster of lefty Mayor Karen Bass in a new petition, ripping her “gross mismanagement” in her disastrous response to the devastating wildfires ravaging the city. “We . . . urgently call for the immediate recall of [Bass] due to her gross mismanagement and failure to effectively respond to the devastating 2025 fires in and around the city,” reads the Change.org petition created Wednesday, which had amassed 56,000 signatures by Saturday morning.

Comments:

Who needs Karen Bass? There are dozens of other black lesbians ready to step in and do the job.

If there was any real justice Commie Bass and her Bull Dyke Fire Chief should be shackled to cinder blocks and placed at the bottom of the empty Palisades reservoir and then refill the reservoir. Let see if they realize at that point the consequences of failing to appreciate the value of water in fighting fires.

Bass is just the tip of the Woke iceberg. Woke politics is preferential treatment for certain groups to such an extreme degree that one neglects everything else. End result here: Is a fire so massive that everything gets burnt to the ground. Bass and other like-minded thinkers just flunked big time. Basic premise of governing is protect your cities.

While I agree that woke Californians are finally getting their comeuppance (it breaks my heart to see rich movie stars cry), not only did this moron mayor cut $17 6 million from the LAFD budget (their budget is smaller than the budgets for the homeless and the illegal aliens) just ONE WEEK prior to the start of the Palisades Fire, she demanded that the fire chief cut another $48 million out of LAFD's budget. This would have resulted in closing 16 stations and laying off 750 firefighters from a department that is already understaffed and overworked.

Is it a futile act to try to recall a deep blue politician in a deep blue state? To say the least, so-called progressives, either criminally stupid or criminally communist-minded, have come close to ruining what is in so many ways the USA's most varied and amazing state, California. Karen Bass has become the Mayor of Ghana, or title writ large, Mayor of Africa. That's what she wanted, to junket to and celebrate in Africa with people who didn't vote for her while her city five thousand miles away burns. A sufficient number of LA voters appear to have badly wanted someone of her description in that important office, and so that's what they got ... someone of her description, which, as is well known, is worthy of praise just because she is what she appears to be. Doesn't she look good and fit into the role precisely? Anyone who offers a peep of criticism is probably in the Klan. /sarc off

You can't fire her, she's a "minority." She doesn't care that the death toll continues to rise. So far, the lives of 16 people were victims of Mayor Bass's incompetence, or lack of concern. Matters not what you call it. She is responsible.

How California eco-bureaucrats halted

California’s eco-bureaucrats halted a wildfire prevention project near the Pacific Palisades to protect an endangered shrub. It’s just the latest clash between fire safety and conservation in California that is coming under scrutiny following the devastating outbreak of the Palisades Fire — the most devastating blaze in Los Angeles history, which has consumed the very same area. In 2019, the LA Department of Water and Power (LADWP) began replacing nearly 100-year-old power line poles cutting through Topanga State Park, when the project was halted within days by conservationists outraged that federally endangered Braunton’s milkvetch plants had been trampled during the process.

A glance across America and Europe leads to an unmistakable conclusion: Revolution is in the air. The failures of democracies are sparking internal upheavals. Thankfully, spasms of violence and bloodshed are few, but a toxic brew of overbearing governments, shrinking freedoms and undeniable decline is producing demands for big changes. A common thread from California to Great Britain, France and Germany is that liberal underpinnings have morphed into sloppy socialism, unchecked immigration, cultural clashes and restraints on critical speech.

The homeless man tackled and zip-tied by onlookers who say he was trying to start fires with a blowtorch near a Los Angeles wildfire is an illegal immigrant who will likely be protected by California’s sanctuary city status, according to a report. The suspect, identified as Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva, is a Mexican national who is in the United States illegally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sources told Fox News. He was chased and taken down by residents of Woodland Hills after they allegedly saw him torching old Christmas trees and debris on fire with what one resident described as a “flamethrower” soon after the massive wildfire began Thursday.

The report details Smith's decision to bring a four-count indictment against Trump, accusing him of plotting to obstruct the collection and certification of votes following his 2020 defeat by Democratic President Joe Biden. It concludes that the evidence would have been enough to convict Trump at trial, but his imminent return to the presidency, set for Jan. 20, made that impossible.
