Breakfast of failures? California gastroenterologist Dr. Saurabh Sethi has taken to TikTok to call out the five unhealthiest breakfast foods. We’ve long been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, a metabolic boost that provides the cornerstone of nutrition. Yet according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, a quarter of us skip our morning meal, and it seems even those who do make the time to rise and dine do not always make healthy choices.

Nothing too surprising. Any foods that are heavily processed are not the best choice. Donuts are OK as a rare treat, but I doubt anyone relies on them for nutrition.

Completely unknown 'doctor' bashes the most popular foods and now he's known and satisfied his ego. Good job, 'Doc'

Dr. Saurabh Sethi on TikTok. Yep, that sounds like my first choice in food advice.

This has become an annoying trend, and anything that starts with "I'm a (fill in the blank)..." doesn't get a click from me. And, although she's citing a gastroenterologist, a quick search reveals that the author is an "astrology writer" at the Post.

I'm sorry, but anyone from California has no credibility. If anything, the opposite of what he recommends is likely to be better for you.

What he doesn't mention is that if you eat pancakes and bacon together they nullify each other's bad effects. This is a known fact. Plus coffee.

Hey Doc, back slowly away from the Bacon, and you won't get hurt...

I like bacon but I don't eat it every day. I also like pancakes but I don't eat them every day either. My usual breakfast is bananas and Greek Yogurt. I won't give up bacon at all. Sorry doc.

There are different schools of thought about a heavy breakfast being good for you. Sugar filled cereal from gene altered grains is not my idea of a good start for the day.

I stopped listening to “scientific” nutrition advice after they told us to eat no more than 2 eggsper week and they foisted the nutrition pyramid on the public.

Stress is unhealthy too, and we all carry too much of it. I avoid the stress of worrying about food by eating what I like and ignoring experts. Awful lot of healthy people who eat "right" dying early also.

He totally lost me at bacon!!!!!
I have made it into my mid-60's eating bacon my whole life. There isn't a bat's chance in Hell that I will ever stop eating bacon. I am pretty sure that the "manna from Heaven" in the Old Testament was actually bacon!!! (They just never told the Israelites that it was made from pork!)

I never eat breakfast other than coffee. I listen to my body and it doesn’t want food in the morning. Just the smell of someone cooking breakfast makes my stomach roil. I’m 72, have a few aches and pains, but my lab work always indicates that I’m healthy. All things in moderation works pretty well.

His number 1 is bacon. That disqualifies him as far as I'm concerned.

The doctor writes that "donuts" are unhealthy - - but I disagree. Many years ago - - John Belushi demonstrated that Little Chocolate Donuts can change an ordinary man into an Olympic athlete. I'll stick with Belushi's health tips.
