The fires are still going out here in Los Angeles and new ones are emerging tonight, the Sunset fire and now a fire in Studio City, the air smells of fire and smoke, and the only thing worse is the inept local leadership. And the level of ineptitude is truly mindblowing. [SNIP] Wokeness and DEI led to four lesbians, 3 of them named some variation of Kirstin, running one of the nation’s largest fire departments. The LAFD is very diverse. It’s run by lesbians named Kristin.

If the LAFD was run by four lesbian named Kirsten who were competent, it wouldn't be bad at all, but these women don't know how to do their jobs.

I know the fire service, I am a retired firefighter and I know this is a slap in the face of the many brave and hard working men , yes and even women, in the LA fire department. I can see a lone lesbian reaching heights in the administration ,but how did 4 dykes get this high in the department.? It just doesn't make numerical sense in a department that is 97% straight for 3% to reach this height. Well if something has to burn every woke movie studio in Hollywood is a good start.

Didn't know Harvard had Firefighting Degrees... From a city of 9.5Million, and a National(international?) search for the very best of the best...the coincidence that the top 4 of the Department all happen to be female, all happen to be Lesbian, and 3 just happen to have the same first name? A derivative form of "Christian", sommat similar to if they all were named "Mohammad". On the "plus side" Carbon Canyon is now aptly named(I wonder if it was named that after a previous fire?)

At this point, you kind of wonder whether the citizens of Los Angeles want Mayor Karen Bass back in Ghana. As you may recall, the prominent California Democrat — former head of the Congressional Black Caucus during her time in the House of Representatives and a potential veep pick for Joe Biden in 2020 before her fondness for Fidel Castro and the “Church” of Scientology derailed her — was over in the African nation for the inauguration of a new president. [SNIP] Bass refused help from the New York Fire Department — even though the city was willing to pay for airfare to bring firefighters out to Los Angeles.

In the letter, Newsom invites Trump to come see the damage, meet with first responders and displaced victims and thank firefighters and emergency personnel for their work. "In the spirit of this great country, we must not politicize human tragedy or spread disinformation from the sidelines," Newsom wrote. "Hundreds of thousands of Americans — displaced from their homes and fearful for the future — deserve to see all of us working in their best interests to ensure a fast recovery and rebuild."

Gavin Newsom is coming under fire for slashing California's funding for wildfire and forest resilience by $101 million less than a year before devastating fires tore through Los Angeles. The Democrat California Governor signed the budget cuts into law in June 2024, severing funding from seven programs focused on preventing and battling potential wildfires in the state, reports Newsweek. Cuts included a $5 million decrease to the CAL FIRE fuel reduction teams, which included funding to pay for vegetation management work by the California National Guard, an analysis by the outlet found.

Los Angeles' budget is in the spotlight as multiple wildfires rage around the city amid revelations that Mayor Karen Bass slashed the fire department's budget last year while prioritizing spending on the city's homeless population. For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Los Angeles budgeted $837 million for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), which was roughly 65% the size of the homeless budget of $1.3 billion. An analysis by L.A.'s city comptroller last year found that roughly half the budget for homelessness went unspent.
