Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass demanded her Fire Department make an extra $49million of budget cuts last week, a leaked memo revealed. This cut is already on top of $17.6million of cuts in her latest budget. The extra cuts, requested just days before fires broke out and devastated swathes of Los Angeles, would have shut down 16 fire stations and crippled the department's ability to respond to emergencies, sources said. [SNIP] The memo is dated January 6, only a day before the devastating Palisades Fire started.

Bass is a looney toon member of the Venceremos Brigade. Read about them here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venceremos_Brigade. She loved Fidel and all el Jefe stood for, and more than likely still does. She is trying to destroy Los Angeles to make it like the Cuba she loves. She's not stupid. Just a Commie.

We can laugh at the stupidity of blue state management and criticize their abilities but it eventually comes around to bite us when we are forced at the federal level to pay for their mistakes. People allowing preventable blue state disasters should be made to suffer for their mistakes and that will encourage them to select good leaders. Bail them out now and they will not fix the main problem.

At this point, you kind of wonder whether the citizens of Los Angeles want Mayor Karen Bass back in Ghana. As you may recall, the prominent California Democrat — former head of the Congressional Black Caucus during her time in the House of Representatives and a potential veep pick for Joe Biden in 2020 before her fondness for Fidel Castro and the “Church” of Scientology derailed her — was over in the African nation for the inauguration of a new president. [SNIP] Bass refused help from the New York Fire Department — even though the city was willing to pay for airfare to bring firefighters out to Los Angeles.

The Democrat California Governor signed the budget cuts into law in June 2024, severing funding from seven programs focused on preventing and battling potential wildfires in the state, reports Newsweek. Cuts included a $5 million decrease to the CAL FIRE fuel reduction teams, which included funding to pay for vegetation management work by the California National Guard, an analysis by the outlet found.

Los Angeles' budget is in the spotlight as multiple wildfires rage around the city amid revelations that Mayor Karen Bass slashed the fire department's budget last year while prioritizing spending on the city's homeless population. For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Los Angeles budgeted $837 million for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), which was roughly 65% the size of the homeless budget of $1.3 billion. An analysis by L.A.'s city comptroller last year found that roughly half the budget for homelessness went unspent.

I was surprised, if not shocked, when two A-list celebrities, country singers Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood, took the microphones at the State Funeral for Jimmy Carter yesterday and began performing “Imagine,” written by former Beatle John Lennon in 1971. The song is widely described as an “atheistic anthem” and incredibly is said to be one of the late 39th president’s favorite songs. "Imagine there’s no heaven It’s easy if you try. No hell below us Above us, only sky. . . Imagine all the people Livin’ for today Ah Imagine there’s no countries It isn’t hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion, too" To me, it sounds like a globalist woke anthem
