Outrage is exploding over a push by numerous Democrats to get people to donate to wildfire "relief funds" facilitated through ActBlue, the party's scandal-ridden fundraising apparatus.
As RedState reported on Saturday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom made the ill-advised move to go on "Pod Save America," a far-left show run by former Barack Obama staffers, while large parts of Los Angeles County still burned. His attempt to pass the buck and paint himself as an innocent bystander amid a laundry list of government failures was bad enough, but then came the plea for donations.

Dems sure never miss a chance to be slimy. They want to take a cut of the 'fire relief' money for themselves.

Very good and eye opening analysis of how money flows through a 501c(4), which must make a certain % of charity donations, so it can make large political donations. The whole 501c(4) is a scam, and nothing but more criminal corruption.

Are you truly surprised that the Democrats would use Act Blue to launder campaign funding on the backs of the wild fires in LA County? I'm not. After the Big Guy in the White House is the biggest money launderer of them all, get his 10% from the bag that Hunter secured. The Obamas are known for Act Blue, they put it in motion. The entire Democrat Party is nothing but money launderers. No joke. And Bigly ones to boot.

Off topic but needs to be said. The reason so many 'rats are for reparations is that they will end up with most of the money. First skim off 10 or 20%, then the rest to 'community organizers' and NGO's which are nothing but democrat party fronts. African Americans will not see a single dime. If 'rats aren't competent in running cities or states, they have a special touch in pocketing money for themselves.

I hate to come off as a scrooge and a cynic, but I'm sure I speak for millions of my fellow Americans when I say I am suffering from Begging Fatigue. From the nonstop TV ads for organizations like Funnels to Showers, Wounded Lawyers, KKKars for Kids and the like, to bums on every street corner with signs asking you to fund their meth habit, not to mention those so brazen as to approach you inside of stores and restaurants begging for a handout, I have had enough of the constant panhandling. I'm sure most of the orgs running ads are well intentioned, but the never ending pleading for donations has become excessive and grating. I give regularly to my favored charities, I'm not going to be badgered into giving to others. Just stop it already. And once Trump starts sending illegals back to where they came from, that will greatly reduce the number of street vagrants wanting into your wallet. OK, rant over.

Why would I make a donation through a political party where there are many relief organizations that have been doing this for decades? Btw, the first thing Newsom did was have Biden declare the wildfire a disaster. Federal dollars will be flowing into LA.
Donating to a political party in the guise of disaster relief sounds like money laundering.

Fortunately, most people can see right through this scam because it's SOP for democrats to profit from anything that hurts ordinary citizens. I have found that people who would normally help out in a nationwide crisis are coming to the conclusion that California and the Democrats deserve to learn a good lesson from all of their catastrophic losses in the past few months. The way they have robbed the citizens of this country to promote illegal immigration is unforgivable. Pocahontas will be running for POTUS in 2028. Remember this stunt during your primary.

#10, I could have written your post.
I’m not sending money to Calif thru any scam organization, or any quasi-legitimate org (Red Cross).
My charity of choice is Samaritan’s Purse. Period. Full stop. No joke.
To be clear: I’m especially NOT giving to a catastrophe brought on by man-made policies. God said to subdue the earth. I see these idiots are letting it run amok.
Sorry, California. Nothing from me.
(I may go stroke another check to the North Carolina people living in tents.)

We give in national tragedies, but not thru goliath Catholic Charities since the border crisis exposed so many dangers in 'helping' women & children get up here. When tornadoes clobbered Kentucky our check went to the Owensboro Diocese directly & not to Catholic Social Services, same for the hurricane disaster for southern states; online donation to Basilica at Asheville for Knights of Columbus, who were going out to the damaged homes to offer gas, food & water directly. Get your help to the closest & smallest known source of assistance if you want to feed or lift up someone in dire straits.

The evil of democrats knows absolutely no bounds. The depths of their depravity is unimaginable.
Why, WHY if quick money is desperately needed, and it is in this apocalypse, would you essentially cut off more than half the country from donating? Many of us will donate to Samaritan's Purse or other legitimate organizations, but, this scheme through Act Blue makes me suspicious of everything. Depraved, debauched, democrats. Sickening.

Folks in LA, I am truly, sorry. But I recently sent my 2024 donations to Lifeline Pilots (my older son is a Captain for a major US carrier and desires to be a Lifeline pilot in his retirement) and the Victor Saracini Memorial Scholarship Fund - New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, my Alma Mater. Vic was one of my college buddies at NMT. After flying for the Navy in Vietnam, Capt. Vic was hired by United Airlines and was piloting United Flight 175 on September 11, 2001 from Boston Logan Int'l Airport for LA. Shortly after the climb out, the moslem jihadists burst open the cockpit door and killed him and his FO just before flying the airplane into the south World Center Tower. I hope you don't mind.

Isn't Act Blue the folks who are collecting multiple donations from retired folks on social security that use prepaid cards for online donations? I'd be suprised if the Soros family would deign to help out the "little people" ... no doubt they are setting up for another "anoymous" donation.
If you or I would do this, we'd be charged with money laundering. If they charged Trump with it, the lawfare folks would be charging up the solar-powered electric chair.

I believe it was Carl Higbie on Newsmax who discovered/exposed last year ActBlue's corruption with all these mini-donations coming from one big donor so as to skirt campaign finance laws.
If you care about horses and other large animals who have survived the fires, you can donate to the LA Equestrian Center at the TheLAEC.com.

Agree, #10. The worst part to me is that if you do give a donation to one of these charities, they bombard you with emails, texts and snail mail asking for even more. It’s a huge waste of time and money. I donate when I feel like donating and all of their appeals get deleted or dumped in the trash right away.

California wildfire donations? You may as well just burn it yourself. I don't feel sorry for these people. They brought this upon themselves; all of them. As Obama said, elections have consequences. These people keep electing these woke democrat buffoons, and it is finally catching up with them. And you know what? They will not open up their eyes and see the light. They will blame climate change, Trump, or the man in the moon, but they will never look in the mirror and blame themselves.

When the Government stops spending money like it’s water, stops letting FEMA run dry of funds while they continue sending billions to fund offshore accounts in Ukraine, stops spending billions to make life comfortable for illegal immigrants and starts prioritizing every day Americans, I will donate. Until that happens I’m tapped out.

How about giving to churches in the L.A. area who are helping the fire victims? We've heard that the Dream Center in L.A. has opened their doors and is helping people there. We don't trust the big donation outfits, they keep a large percent of money for themselves.

Before moving to NorCal a few years ago, we lived in Simi Valley near the Reagan Library, and boarded our Dutch Warmblood mare nearby. It was fire season one year, with smoke coming over the hillside, but with ponds nearby, the great fire company was able to control the smoke so we didn’t need to evacuate her, thank the Good Lord.
