Spencer Pratt reveals plans to sue the State of California after his home was tragically burnt down in the Pacific Palisades wildfires.
On Friday, the former reality star, who is married to Heidi Montag, announced that he intends on filing a lawsuit against California due to their alleged negligence that resulted in the loss of his residence. [SNIP] The father-of-two recalled desperately trying to get help from Los Angeles Fire Department as he watched his property go up in flames.
'They never came. The gate was still locked,' he claimed. 'They never came. I watched from my security cameras until our house burned down. There were no fire trucks.'

When you vote for DEI, do expect incompetence. Next time don't vote woke.

They should sue California, Newscum, and Bass into oblivion, and then start over with no Dems in any position of authority!

I hope they are successful and open the door for hundreds of additional lawsuits.
CA is rapidly needing a scapegoat to appease the restless sheeple.
I predict that the powers that be have already selected the woke mayor of LA.
Newsom won't resign, but his presidential aspirations have just gone up in smoke.

Who'd Spencer vote for?
If in the last 25 years he voted for Democrats even once, I probably have no sympathy
It is as simple as that.

California is deep in debt and they are losing tax income by the day as residents continue to move out. Lawsuits will not pay out for years, if ever. The best we can do from flyover country is to offer voting advice, get the stupid, incompetent, corrupt leftists out. Government is primarily about Fire, Police, Medical, Utilities and other necessary services. You have none of that but you have a crap-load of LGBTQXYZ representation.

I know case law has always protected the government from these types of suits. Good luck.

RE #'s 1 & 4:
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are Republicans. I have a feeling that these fires are going to change a lot of people's voting attitudes, especially given the mealy-mouthed responses coming from those allegedly in charge of the responses.

How many fire trucks and crews does this guy think the Fire Department has.
They didn't come after he called them. No dummie they were overwhelmed with calls from every homeowner in the city.
Does he think his home should have priority over every other home that was on fire in the neighborhood.?
They did not come because they didn't want to, It doesn't work that way. Every piece of equipment and every fire crew were already involved in fighting fires at other homes and places.

Slightly OT but I hear all the stories of late about how difficult it is to get permits to rebuild your homes after a fire or whatever but then I look at the before fire photos of the areas burning and it seems there are a lot of homes all over the place that maybe they should not have allowed to be built when fire is such a regular occurrence.

'Tis nigh impossible to successfully sue the state. But if it makes you feel better - and you have the money to waste on a lawyer - knock yourself out. O'Mama was right on one thing - elections have consequences. Vote for stupid - that's what ya get.

To those who voted for these corrupt politicians and incompetent DEI hires, you are an accomplice to your own destruction, you cannot sue.

I really, really, REALLY wish idiots would STOP with the lawsuits against states and U.S. agencies. Do they not realize that they are making the taxpayers pay? Sue individuals, for Pete's sake!

She can't be sued. She checks too many boxes.
Have you any idea what it takes to uncheck a box in Kalifornia?

Thank you, #9. Well put. Sometimes, things just happen. But this will be interesting, politically, as a LOT of wealthy and well-connected people are quite angry. Also, a lot of money is going to be made by some off of this. I heard from a credible, local talk show host yesterday of at least one case where "investors" are offering cash for victims' land plots. Cited was a destroyed $1.1M home for which the owner was being offered $750K to just walk away and start over elsewhere. No dealing with insurance claims, permits, rebuilding, or the many years of waiting for all of it.

I heard a state insurance guy saying the people should just hang in there because the state (or FEMA?) could give them more money than insurance would have, like they did to the people in Florida. Whaaaaat?

Unfortunately, I don't think you can actually sue a state government unless it decided to let you. Not likely.
