Until the day he retired, my parents revered CBS News’s Walter Cronkite. Combining dignity with a gentle flow of compassion and wisdom, and always with a warm twinkle in his eye, he informed Americans about events worldwide. Then he concluded the show by saying, “And that’s the way it is.” They told me how they wept with him when President Kennedy died, and they believed him when he lied about the U.S. victory in the Tet Offensive, a lie that effectively lost the Vietnam War for America. In those days, CBS News had gravitas, and no one knew understood was pushing propaganda along with its straight news reporting

Comments:

Andrea is exactly right about SeeBS. Just like the rest of the alphabet networks and other "legacy" media. Now if we can only get the rest of America to understand this.

CBS, NBC, etal are propaganda mechanisms of the Deep State. No surprise here. Fox is slowly tilting toward the membership thanks to Paul Ryan.

SeeBS has been a leftist propaganda outlet since Cronkite started lying about the Tet offensive in1968. Fake news is their game, ask Lyin' Dan Rather about "fake but accurate" crappola.

Cronkite was so respected because there was no context. People did not know what they did not know back then.

I served on a staff in Saigon and lived downtown throughout the Tet Offensive. I remember calling my folks on MARS radio (you can look it up) and telling them not to listen to CBS or read Newsweek.

true about Cronkite. i knew soldiers who fought in Vietnam and I always knew Cronkite shortchanged their wit and effort and victory, and that Kerry slandered them. Those lies broke hearts. I know people remember Cronkite with love and trust ... what can I say..... you were wrong. The mill of God grinds slowly but it grinds exceeding small, and assessing the lies of today people can see all the way back.

I still think about Rather's effort to smear George W. on the Texas Air National Guard story. At least he lost credibility and was rightfully slammed as a lying POS.

Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed on social media Monday that more than 100 teachers in his state are being removed from the classroom. These educators will lose their jobs, their teaching certificates, and the ability to ever lead students astray in Texas again. Their offense? Glorifying or celebrating the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk last week. Abbott responded to a post on X that claimed Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath was investigating teachers. Morath made clear where the state stands.

In a rare but resounding act of judicial sanity, the Supreme Court of the United States has delivered an 8-0 ruling that reins in one of the most abused weapons in the bureaucratic arsenal: environmental obstructionism. The case, Seven County Infrastructure Coalition v. Eagle County, stemmed from a challenge to a planned railway in Utah, a project that environmentalists attempted to kneecap through endless litigation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). In a time when green tape has been weaponized to stall or cancel everything from pipelines to housing, this decision marks a turning point—and it’s worth celebrating.

As a nonprofit, it has obligations and fiduciary duties consistent with its tax-exempt status. Additionally, the public has a reasonable expectation of neutrality, transparency, and accountability.

When most people think of mayoral campaign promises, they picture fixing potholes, improving schools, or reducing crime. But Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Socialist nominee for New York City mayor, is vowing to have the NYPD arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he dare show his face in the Big Apple. This isn't your typical political grandstanding. Mamdani wants to honor an International Criminal Court arrest warrant targeting Netanyahu for alleged war crimes in Gaza, stemming from the ongoing war that erupted after Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel. The socialist firebrand claims that Netanyahu is committing genocide

In the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a violently deranged and hate-filled leftist (yes, that is a confirmed fact), some on the hard Left have been publicly expressing justifications for, and even celebrations of, the murder. These ghouls do not represent America, nor do they represent America's center-left coalition writ large. Many politicians, public figures and private citizens on the 'progressive' end of the spectrum have prominently and unequivocally denounced the killing. This must be acknowledged and embraced with gratitude by all people of good will. The forces of decency must stand together against the cancer of political violence and twisted vigilantism.

The far-left New Republic, in the immediate aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, declared that Democrats’ responses condemning the killing were “too tasteful for the moment,” warned that “empathy helps prop up Republicans and Trumpists as legitimate and normal political actors,” and urged Democrats to adopt a “callous, perhaps, but short of cruel” tone — even suggesting they say, “I’m sorry his family is suffering. I wish his message would die with him.” In an article titled “Charlie Kirk and the Empathy Trap” — with the subhead, “Democrats will never be as cruel as Republicans after a political assassination. That’s to their credit. But it may not be to their advantage”

Something fundamental shifted in Britain on September 13, 2025. In the heart of London, a sea of flags unfurled and hundreds of thousands...no, millions of ordinary men and women marched together for an idea: That Britain must remain Britain, that its borders must be defended, and that its culture, heritage, and people deserve respect. Or else. Naturally, the mainstream press dutifully downplayed the numbers, claiming “just” 110,000 to 150,000 attended. But I was there, and I can assure you that nobody who was there believes it. It was far larger, at least one million, but probably nearer three. And it did not appear out of nowhere.

The Pentagon is not backing down from its quest for consequences for those who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s killing, even as Democrats warn the move is "un-American" and violates free speech protections. The controversy underscores a clash between military discipline and First Amendment rights, with top Pentagon officials arguing that celebrating the killing of an American political figure is unacceptable conduct for service members — while Democrats counter that the crackdown risks punishing constitutionally protected speech. "Hunting down and prosecuting service members for their individual political beliefs is dangerous and un-American," Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., a former Army Ranger, wrote on X.
