The U.S. State Department has revoked visas for foreign nationals who celebrated the assassination of beloved conservative icon Charlie Kirk. Deputy Secretary of State Chris Landau made the announcements on X that hateful people who abused their privilege to come here would be sent home. “In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” Landau wrote on X Thursday. “I have (snip) directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action. Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention.”

Comments:

This Brazilian surgeon demonstrates the same dismissal of humanity that his fellow Brazilian countryman, Nazi butcher Josef Mengele, shared with him down there for 60 years.

Very appropriate. If you are disrespectful to your host country, maybe you need to return to your 3rd world dung heap where you'll be happier. Besides, foreigners should not be involved with US politics.

If, we as Americans, are visiting a foreign country, we must abide by their rules. It would be uncivil to do otherwise.

I’m sure I will have the minority opinion here. I’m not ok with this. Or the firings. Yes, the comments are vile. It’s who they are. But we do have such a thing as ‘free speech’. People could say anything they wanted about Charlie Kirk when he was alive. But not if he’s dead? Biden isn’t going to be around much longer. His prostate cancer spread to his bones. Will we impose the same rules? It will be interesting. This is censorship. The comments are part of the price for freedom.

In response to replier janjan, I believe the difference is that he was celebrating the assassination. Best to keep those feelings to yourself. It is not the same as criticizing Kirk's beliefs. Not the same at all.

I don't think taking part in a culture of political assassination is protected free speech. It's like cheering on the arsonists setting fire to the theater: "you go girl!" It certainly seems to be contrary to the Hippocratic oath. I would be fearful of having anyone who celebrates political assassination of those whose opinions he disagrees with take my life in his hands. Same with a pilot. Same with a teacher who takes my kids' future in his hands. All in all, we have to remove this death culture. It is hard to believe that its source is other than groups that want to see the Republic dismantled. The operation they have been conducting over the past decade or so is pretty obvious at this point. The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

As President Donald Trump tries to force Lisa Cook out of her job at the Federal Reserve, her lawyers have pointed to a similar event in history — one where the president lost at the Supreme Court. On October 7, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt fired William E. Humphrey from his post at the Federal Trade Commission. The reason was purely political: The president wanted someone who could advance his priorities.. "I do not feel that your mind and my mind go along together," Roosevelt told Humphrey in a letter. His term at the FTC was supposed to last until 1938. When Humphrey refused to resign, Roosevelt fired him.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Tuesday lost her bid to get back on the Georgia election interference case against President Trump — who celebrated by calling her a “disaster.” The embattled prosecutor was booted from the high-profile case in December by the Georgia Court of Appeals, which cited the “appearance of impropriety” over her affair with the special prosecutor Nathan Wade leading the case. Georgia’s top court said Tuesday that it would not consider reversing a lower court’s ruling. Trump cheered the decision on the White House lawn just before he departed for the UK – arguing Willis should be prosecuted.

The Trump administration is deploying cutting-edge artificial intelligence to conduct an unprecedented review of more than 55 million visa holders in what could become the largest immigration dragnet in U.S. history. But in practical terms, the unprecedented vetting process will likely target a far smaller pool than the number being floated publicly. It's a sort of psychological warfare designed to trigger mass self-deportations, a former State Department employee tells. "They don't need to scrub 55 million. They just need to say they are casting the net as extensively as possible, to encourage those who know they are ineligible, probably overstaying their visas, to self-deport before they are caught"

Earlier this year, the Loudoun County Public Schools in Northern Virginia launched a Title IX sexual harassment investigation into the two boys after they were videotaped by a biological female who identified as transgender inside the boys' locker room. The video caught them outwardly complaining to each other about the fact that there was a girl using their facilities.

A federal immigration board said Friday that immigrants who arrived in the United States illegally are ineligible for bond hearings while they challenge deportation proceedings in court. The decision, rendered by Judge Keith E. Hunsucker at the Board of Immigration Appeals, affirms a previous July order from Todd M. Lyons, acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, who told ICE officers in a memo that such immigrants should be detained “for the duration of their removal proceedings,” which can take months or years. Lawyers say the policy will apply to millions of immigrants who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border over the past few decades

The Los Angeles Police Department has pulled its cops from a security detail at Kamala Harris’ Brentwood, California home after outrage that crime-fighting units were being diverted to guard the former vice president. A dozen Metro Division officers had been stationed outside Harris’ mansion after President Trump revoked her Secret Service protection last week, ending an extension granted by Biden. The short-lived detail drew fury inside the department. “Pulling police officers from protecting everyday Angelenos to protect a failed presidential candidate who also happens to be a multi-millionaire … and who can easily afford to pay for her own security, is nuts,” the Los Angeles Police Protective League’s board said.

An Alaska man is petitioning the Supreme Court to consider whether the government's seizure of his $95,000 plane for transporting an illicit six-pack of beer is an excessive fine under the Eighth Amendment. The Institute for Justice, a public interest law firm, filed a petition for writ of certiorari today on behalf of Ken Jouppi, an 82-year-old Alaskan bush pilot, asking the Supreme Court to rule on whether states should consider the gravity of a defendant's specific offense, rather than an abstract view of the general crime. Jouppi was convicted of a misdemeanor when a passenger was attempting to bring beer to a "dry" village where alcohol is prohibited.
