The Washington Post has fired now-former global opinions editor Karen Attiah after she appeared to celebrate the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. That comes amid a range of firings across multiple sectors of people who apparently have no self-control whatsoever, nor the common decency to practice it. Kirk was murdered by a far-left radical who had a "trans-furry" boyfriend while holding an open debate on a Utah college campus. The shooter, Tyler Robinson, fled after firing the fatal shot before his father and a youth pastor detained and turned him in a day later. For her part, Attiah reacted

Don't try arguing that "free speech" should save your job. If Charlie Kirk can die because of what he said, it is no big deal if you simply get fired for what you said.

Jeff should have cleaned house in that 'company' long ago. If necessary fire every employ there and start over, May take a while but it CAN be done. Same for Chicago and L.A. papers. The Founding Fathers thought that a 'free' press would be honorable because it was free and not corrupted by people who could be dishonorable. Unfortunately we have a press ( and the scourge of 'social media' ) that seems to pay very little, if any, attention to honesty and truthfulness ! There are very few that can be believed and taken at face value ! Eventually, if this continues, news 'papers', radio, television, the internet, every communication mode will be essentially useless because there is no way to verify what is said. Just my humble opinion !

Monumental ignorance is not what this creature suffers from. It's a sense of entitlement so bad she(it?) thinks she can publicly lie about someone she doesn't agree with, and do it in the most racist way possible and not be responsible for her actions. She is the perfect poster child for everything wrong in our country today. No empathy, no morals, no education, no nothing and brazenly proud of her own stupidity. You'd think Charlie Kirk's widow could sue this woman for defamation at the least. I want to know if someone eventually employs her again so I can boycott them posthaste.

It doesn't matter what Attiah thinks or says, she is just one person. The problem is that the WaaPoo gave her a platform that amplifies the weight of her words. Obviously, the WaaPoo doesn't care about the impact of publishing Attiah's twisted beliefs and are even good with most of what she has to say. But in the new environment of rising Conservative strength and a collapse of Liberal media, the Poo has to be much more careful. How much can your audience and finances shrink before you are irrelevant? Alliah doesn't care about those types of realities but when she unheedingly charged ahead, it was too much. The same is happening to many liberal scribes of fiction (no longer journalists or reporters). They cross lines they have been jumping over for years and all of a sudden they are on the outside looking in. Further, they find they no longer have value or an audience. The worst thing for a liberal is to find out they have lost their street cred and Mojo. Too bad. So sad. The next improvement will be when the enabling organizations collapse completely. They are already crippled and they can't seem recover beyond serving up pablum. Their fall can't happen soon enough.

An immigration judge in Louisiana has ordered pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, a legal permanent resident of the U.S., deported to Syria or Algeria for failing to disclose certain information on his green card application, according to documents filed in federal court Wednesday by his lawyers. Khalil’s lawyers suggested in a filing that they intend to appeal the deportation order, but expressed concern that the appeal process will likely be swift and unfavorable. The order from the immigration judge, Jamee Comans, came despite a separate order in Khalil’s federal case in New Jersey blocking his deportation while that court considers Khalil’s legal argument

The culture war wasn’t just a metaphor at Utah Valley University last week. We need to learn more about Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk, but based on what we know so far he represents the polar opposite of Kirk in every important respect. The young man with the transgender boyfriend shot the young man with the wife and two kids. The guy with a reported interest in “furries” killed the guy with an interest in spreading the Gospel. The believer in gender fluidity murdered the believer in traditional gender roles. In cultural terms, it was aberrant versus normal

A dozen or so years ago, the magazine rack at your grocery store was your cheat code for popular culture: The covers revealed EXACTLY where we were as a country. After all, magazine editors chose their covers to maximize sales. Which meant that the cover photos (and cover stories) were kind of like mini billboards, advertising whatever content was most meaningful to their target audience. For marketers and/or propagandists, it provided invaluable insight. But no longer. Today, paper-and-ink magazines are deader than the dodo. They’re the equivalent of vinyl records: Some people still swear by ‘em, but they’re no longer mainstream. Instead, we’ve gotta look at digital headlines.

As President Donald Trump tries to force Lisa Cook out of her job at the Federal Reserve, her lawyers have pointed to a similar event in history — one where the president lost at the Supreme Court. On October 7, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt fired William E. Humphrey from his post at the Federal Trade Commission. The reason was purely political: The president wanted someone who could advance his priorities.. "I do not feel that your mind and my mind go along together," Roosevelt told Humphrey in a letter. His term at the FTC was supposed to last until 1938. When Humphrey refused to resign, Roosevelt fired him.
