People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is pressuring Jill Biden to forego eggs this Easter but instead use potatoes for the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll event.
In a statement, PETA wrote, “Ahead of the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, PETA sent a letter to Dr. Jill Biden today asking the first lady to modernize the celebration by replacing eggs with dyed Easter potatoes.”
“Children love animals and would be sad to learn that the eggs used for fun and games at the White House come from tormented hens whose lives are spent in cages that afford them less space than a standard sheet of typing paper,”

I'm totally behind this change IF joetato is included in the festivities. Turnabout is fair play since we've been rolled by his "administration" for the last 3 years.
And this quote caught my eye:
“In STARCH contrast, a potato roll would support U.S. potato farmers and teach tots that our fellow animals are sensitive, feeling beings who deserve respect. Chickens form complex social hierarchies and can recognize more than 100 individuals of their own species. They feel pain and fear, just as humans do,” PETA wrote."
Is "starch contrast" meant to be a play on words since potatoes are a starch? I doubt it.
Seriously though, with a few minor changes to this quote it could be used to describe human fetuses but PETA is too obtuse to see it.
Lastly, if families are substituting potatoes for eggs this Easter let's not forget whose fault that is and exactly why joetato should be the star of the show.

They can't suggest plastic eggs because we all know where plastic comes from.

Why don’t they used plastic eggs. I am sure some are made of recycled plastics. Why use an egg or potato when that can be used to feed people? Food bullies are out of control. Virtue signaling hypocrites.

What rattled PETA's cage? They were quiet for several years and now this. It seems trivial even for them.

Does PETA have any idea at all of how many animals are killed by those machines that harvest potatoes? And every other vegetable they consume, unless they grow their own?

Yeah but, potatoes spend their lives underground in the dark. Wouldn't you rather be a chicken? I'm sure Doctor Jill will make the right decision.

I had one of those tormented hens for dinner last night. She was delicious.
In a related story, the Irish community demanded that the WH refrain from using potatoes at Easter, as they are a painful reminder of the Irish Potato Famine.

How many PETA members support abortion on demand?
Probably most.

The reasoning for this is obvious....all potatoes will be called Mr President and First Lady Potato head and the kids will all get to decorate their potatoes with the Mr Potato Head kits we old timers had as children. Clearly this is an attempt to get the Idaho farmer vote.

Does PETA think that every egg will turn into a chicken?
Or are they just trying to get their name in the news?
Potatoes can be heavy, so how about mushrooms or garlic instead?

this really lights up my afterburners because Easter is not about chickens or eggs or bunny rabbits, for that matter
= it is a religious holiday celebrated by Christians worldwide acknowledging the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, nothing more than that and nothing less
= so stop with the eggs and rabbits and other non-sensical, non-religious aspects of this day and focus on the real reason for Easter and
= the same goes for Christmas where the same motto applies: "Jesus is the reason for the season", plain and simple

PETA crazies gotta invent new crazy ideas. I've worked in a chicken farm, and while I can't speak for every commercial egg operation, our hens had the free run of a 100 foot by 500 foot chicken house, and could pick any one of hundreds of nesting boxes to fly up to and lay an egg. They were not maltreated other than being prevented from running free, which would have resulted in a very short life as they were killed by the coons, foxes and bobcats that lived in the area.
You have to be exceptionally stupid to be a PETA person.
