A Canadian law that aims to make social media platforms safer is getting flak for what some decry as government overreach. Introduced late last month, the Online Harms Act, or Bill C-63, would allow judges to imprison adults for life if they advocate for genocide. Hmmm... After we regain our freedom, we may need to march up there and remind Canadians that Freedom as scary as it is, is far superior to Nanny States that forget they are servants to their people. Then march South and chase the Drug Lords out of North America. Republic of the United States of North America, has a nice ring...

Dangerous because the Left already calls everything they don’t like genocide. Don’t like kids trans-ing themselves. Well you must support genociding trans people. Do you support Israel response to Hamas constant provocations and the atrocities of Oct 7? Well, based on the death numbers reported by the oh-so-reliable Hamas press office, you support genocide against Palestinians.

Why don’t they glom onto some French style guillotines, put them to use, and chop the heads off supposedly bill C-63 offenders, it would be much cheaper than keeping them in jail for life? Getting serious I can’t believe that the Canadians will go along with such a new law.

Doesn't the British "Magna Carta" ensure freedom of speech? Since Canada is part of the British Commonwealth, how can Trudeau get away with this or has he decided to throw that 800 year old law away? If the Canadian people allow him to get away with this, I will lose all respect for them.

Within hours of the decision, Nathan Wade—now Willis’s ex—exited the case. While McAfee declared that half-measure solved the problem of an “appearance of impropriety,” the court’s reasoning established that true justice requires the removal of Willis and the entire Fulton County D.A.’s office.

Around the world and inside Russia, the recent presidential election was perceived mainly as a formality. Few were surprised President Vladimir Putin won by a "record result" that secured his reelection. But what is in store for Russia now that he is in charge for yet another term? "The proclaimed 87% [election result] affirms the regime and Putin's increasingly dictatorial course," according to Regina Heller, a researcher at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg. "The result does not reflect the will of the voters, but the will of the regime," she added. It serves as "a carte blanche for the regime

Former President Trump and several of his co-defendants are asking Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee for permission to appeal after he ruled against dismissing the case and disqualifying District Attorney Fani Willis. McAfee last week denied a full dismissal of the case against Trump and Willis’ disqualification. Instead, he demanded that Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade resign from the case. McAfee warned that without Wade’s withdrawal, Willis would be disqualified from prosecuting Trump. Wade withdrew within hours of the judge's order.

t hurts when your ally tries to interfere in your country’s politics, but it hurts even more when it comes from someone who is so close and supportive. On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for an election in Israel to find a successor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, marking the most direct opposition by an American official to Israel’s leader since October 7. Schumer expressed this view on the Senate floor, cautioning that the US might need to intervene more directly to foster long-lasting peace, if the current situation persists. Schumer, the Jewish Democratic senator from New York said Netanyahu’s leadership was one of four principal barriers to peace.
