A new find of underground helium in Minnesota could turn out to be one of the largest in the world, Minneapolis’s WCCO-TV reported Thursday.
The drill site, just outside Babbitt in the northeastern part of the state, took about a month from initially breaking ground to get to a depth of 2,200 feet.
What it found there, Pulsar Helium CEO Thomas Abraham-James called “a dream.” “There was a lot of screaming, a lot of hugging and high fives. It’s nice to know the efforts all worked out and we pulled it off,” Abraham-James told WCCO.
He said that the concentration of helium sampled was 12.4 percent — about 30 times

doesn't matter.. the communists, under Red Walz, will stop anyone
mining for it.. like they've done for fifty years
on the Iron Range where we have the largest cobalt lodes in the world..

This is fabulous news for my congress critter, Hank Johnson, who has expressed great fears the without helium birthday balloons would be a thing of the past.

Make sure we don't have a President, like Richard Nixon, that released the national Helium reserves into outer space to save money...

Guess I need to google helium and see what it can be used for, other than balloons.

Agreeing with #1. The Dems control all three branches of MN govt. They will pile tax after tax and one environmental regulation after another on this to make it worthless. The only good outcome might be that the Democrat lock on this part of MN would be broken.

If its 12.4%, what is the rest? Usually its mixed with natural gas aka CH4.

The Marxists/WEFs are saving all of our natural resources until they own the country, then they'll loot it all for themselves.

THIS JUST IN - - - - - -
"Climate scientists" warn that helium is a major contributor to world annihilation. As a result - - the Despicable Joe administration has banned all use of helium. Party balloons must now be made of recyclable materials - - and filled with lithium from China.
Update at eleven.

First thing Monday morning we should expect lawsuits to shutter all underground helium mining operations as a criminal assault on Mother Earth..

Until now, Kansas has had pretty much the most helium.
And for those who wonder...."Who cares about party balloons?" Helium is VERY limited and necessary to supercool the magnets for MRI scanners. A crucial resource, actually. And for other superconducting experiments and perhaps one day, additional real products beyond the MRIs.

Hmmm...Biden just SOLD the entire US Helium reserve, on Feb 4th...less than 1 month ago, all of it's storage facilities as well as 400miles of Helium Pipeline, to a "Privately Held" German company, only licensed to do business in the USA since 2019.
Bet they are NOT happy about this...or....They were in on it.
"Insider Trading"??? Perhaps???

#3~ Specific reference/source for the assertion that President Nixon released “the national helium reserves into outer space to save money” would be appreciated.
Bill Clinton signed into law the “Helium Privatization Act of 1996” on October 9, 1996. According to Wikipedia, “The law was described by critics as a ‘fiasco’ due to the formula-based sale price being significantly lower than the market price for helium. The bill was amended in 2013 to use an auction to sell helium.”

This is HUGE news. Helium can't be manufactured or synthesized. As I understand it, helium reserves were getting low, with huge implications for medicine, manufacturing and yes, party balloons.

Oh dear! This is an environmental catastrophe in the making.
No-one seems to have taken into consideration what the majority of the scientific community
has been warning us about: without this geological 'cushion' of helium, portions of the
earth's crust will lose the critical buoyancy that has sustained it through the Eeyores. As a result, it will collapse and
thousands--if not millions --of people will be left homeless.
Mankind's greed for the earth's precious resources, coveting all for its own selfish use
will spell our doom.

Since this is Minnesota, they will most likely ban drilling. Have to protect the endangered Babbitt gnat and Babbitt mosquito which were just 'discovered'.

Being Minnesota I would think they would have found the largest Flatulence, aka Methane deposit that has ever existed.
