President Joe Biden may send more American weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, even though Congress is stalling additional funding to replace them, according to reports.
The Pentagon has not made a final decision, but officials are considering the idea as another way to support Ukraine despite the potential political pitfalls for the Biden administration.
Depleting American stockpiles in order to support Ukraine would anger many Republicans who believe Biden has to prioritize the defense of the United States first.

By doing so he is basically blackmailing Congress to pay to replace US stockpiles- similar to what TR did with the Great White Fleet. Trust me FJB didn’t come up with this plan - the Obama Regents did.
But it’s a good time to buy defense stocks .

American ammo supply is fine, sending old ammo to use against the Russians, while replacing it with brand new is a good deal.
ALL ammo has a shelf life, and absolutely must be replaced periodically.
So, instead of PAYING to destroy the hazardous materials in the old ammo....it gets shot at Russians. Better than paying to destroy it.
But DM never gets a weapons story right.

Furnishing ammunition to be used against another country makes the argument for that country to return the favor. I don't want "old" ammunition to be returned. Other countries have old ammunition too, not just the US.

Leave it to a 5x draft dodger who understands nothing about the military unless he is selling us out to the Chinese, as usual.

Soon the only weapon we will have to defend ourselves will be a picture of Dr. Jill in a shower curtain.

Well, the Sniffer drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to serve his political purposes, he might as well deplete our ammunition reserves as well.
(I would not be surprised to learn that the US gold reserve in Fort Knox is also long gone.)

Joe, get on the phone and call Western Europe. Tell them to get off their backsides and support Ukraine. We are not an ATM machine for the world.

Perhaps he should send some of that ammo the dems provided to various 'services' in 2011*2012...36,000 Hollow points to NOAA, 326,000 rounds to the USDA (probably for insect control), 174,000 to SS Administration (gotta be prepared for all those old people), Armored MRAPS and armored checkpoint booths and that isn't the complete listing...

At some point the Bandera's will have to fix bayonets! Send them those also! They are way over matched and considered by time, Toast!

Well……
If the next POTUS doesn’t have enough weapons and ammo to prosecute our defense,
then maybe we can just push the button and end the problem.

Re #3, pretty much ALL the former Soviet Bloc eastern European countries have entirely emptied ALL their old ammo supplies, and old Soviet tanks, and artillery pieces and sent them to Ukraine, and are replacing them with nice new equipment and ammo made in USA and Europe.
And Germany has sent a bunch of old gun-type of anti-aircraft systems called Gephard Panzers to Ukraine. These were considered to be obsolete for wars against only supersonic jets....but have proven very effective against drones and cruise missiles. So effective that Germany's limited stockpile of old ammo for these guns has been exhausted and they reopened the production line to produce the special high velocity ammunition. More profits and jobs in Germany making ammo.
Poland has sent all their old MiG jets to Ukraine, and huge numbers of their old Soviet tanks, and guns.
And Poland is purchasing new tanks from South Korea and building a factory in Poland to produce them.
Remember Germany is the size of Montana, and Poland about the size of New Mexico, and France is about the area of Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa if they were joined together. These are small countries, and they are giving a lot of their old ammo and equipment, and new ammo and equipment, too.
And the GDP of Germany is about 1/6th (16%) of the US GDP. France's GDP is about 1/9th (11%) the US GDP, and Poland's GDP is 3% or 1/33rd of the US GDP. To be an equal contributor by GDP, the US needs to put in 33 times what Poland does, or 6 times what German can afford or 9 times what France can afford. They ARE stepping up, but even if they put out twice or three times the fraction of GDP that the USA is giving....it is only a fraction of what we can supply.
And we need to prevent Russia from running roughshod over smaller countries. If we had a small war with Germany over Czechoslovakia, we likely wouldn't have had the huge World War and 40 to 50 million people killed. This is a similar situation. Germany should have been stopped at the 'first bite'. And Russia should be stopped, too. And Ukraine is asking for NO foreign troops, only weapons and ammo. They are doing all the fighting and dying for their country. I support sending them whatever weapons that they need, and if it was up to me, far more than the piddling 30 tanks and such that we have sent. Too little is pointless. Russia has lost over 3,000 tanks and we send Ukraine 30? That's pathetic.
