Pima County, Arizona, and the city of Tucson are scrambling as Biden’s border crisis continues to wreak havoc on American border states. Tucson officials are engaging in a frenzied search for a place to house illegal immigrants as federal funding comes to an end. And some are suggesting that the illegal border crossers should be bused to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in south Tucson. Officials are desperately making plans ahead of the expected wave of illegal aliens likely to begin being dropped off at the end of March by Biden’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents, according to AZMirror. Tucson Mayor Regina Romero has been “sounding the alarm” and said

Washington DC insists that they have the authority to bring these invaders into the country. With that, they should be forced to take responsibility for housing them in Washington, DC.

$8000 per month per pos seems like quite a bit. I’d be hard pressed to spend that much on a hotel and food each month.

This is a fully solved problem. Bus them to NYC, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Boston, DC. What's so hard to figure out? Buses are way cheaper than food, housing, medical, schooling, etc.

Give each and every illegal that they come in contact with a face full of pepper spray and a recommendation to get the hell out of our country. That would work a lot better than giving them all these services and help. They ought to be made to feel VERY unwelcome.

I think the elephant in the room is Texas. For this to be happening to Arizona, the security at the Texas border must be working. Copy Texas. And get New Mexico to go along. Then all the illegals will be going to California and you can save the bus fare.

Here's a report from the front line here in Tucson: Recently I went to the DMV in person because my driver's license expired and ADOT no longer sends reminders. Too costly they say. After living here for 20+ years, what I encountered at the DMV was simply beyond belief. A 2 hour serpentine line of likely immigrants and their families standing shoulder to shoulder---waiting to get driver's licenses! They couldn't speak English but it looked like they had somehow been provided with their personal data written on a sheet of paper. The clerks at the windows were busy transcribing the info onto a drivers license form. A photo was taken but I didn't see any money change hands. I have no idea if or how these people would physically receive their driver's licenses. There were a few uniformed DMV employees sitting around but no one within range for me to ask without risk of losing my place in line. When I finally got to the window I asked what in the world was going on and the guy shrugged his shoulders and asked me what I mean. He said it's "always busy." I had to follow the rule of the law when renewing my license---a penalty was added because I was out of the country when my license expired (even though I did NOT receive a reminder)...but... I was completely surrounded by others who were blatantly breaking the law and being silver-spoon fed for doing so---at my expense. Just unbelievable. And to those of you who would say, "Call the news" or "Notify authorities" good luck with that. Press 1 for English, press 6 for DMV, press 3 for Pima County, press 8 to file a report, press 2 for a callback...Your wait time is...2 hours and 11 minutes, please try again later, Goodbye.

Where are all environmentalists whining about the damage these illegal aliens are wreaking on private and public lands? The garbage, feces, food containers, etc ad nauseum and who is stuck cleaning it up? Why it's the private landowners or volunteers citizens or local government. And of course, they bring their dogs with them or acquire them on their invasion trek and then dump them at the border so Americans get stuck taking care of them. I really despise these people and everyone who support this invasion.

Tucson and Pima county are the most liberal county in AZ. Don't know if they still have the same sheriff but he was useless when it came to illegals. We lived in Pinal county, the next county north, and had to deal with the garbage that the Pima county sheriff wouldn't deal with but the Pinal county sheriff would.

Well #9, Berquam on recent War Room said no AZ does not have more traffic due to our TX show of force in the Eagle Pass area. There are plenty of places coyotes and traffickers have diverted their customers to all up and down TX-MX border. The BP with Berquam said that on a recent War Room LIVE segment right before CPAC. I think it’s come to a head in the Pima County sector just as it finally did in Texas. Finally, the Governor is forced to act.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) could be moving closer to endorsing former President Trump, a nod from an influential detractor that would serve as a powerful message for Trump. Two sources familiar with the situation told The Hill that top lieutenants for the two GOP behemoths — Chris LaCivita, Trump’s campaign manager; and Josh Holmes, McConnell’s longtime top political hand — have held discussions in recent weeks about possibly thawing the freeze in their relationship and paving the way for McConnell to back Trump. “We’ve reached the part of the primary where the party is coming together,” one source familiar with the discussions said.

Gemini, Google’s new artificial intelligence engine, has been widely mocked and exposed by conservatives and others on social media. To date, I haven’t noticed anyone serious on the Left interested in defending it. Gemini has quite obviously been programmed by censorious and (at best) utterly incurious liberals. This is a great source of enjoyment and Twitter engagement for anyone willing to poke fun at the Left’s pieties, but it’s actually pretty educational too. The real story here is not that Gemini is “biased,” so much as that Gemini lies to its users in a very specific way that will be familiar to many readers.

Manhattan prosecutors are asking the judge overseeing Donald Trump’s criminal case involving hush money payments to impose a gag order to stop the former president from publicly disparaging potential witnesses and others involved in the trial. Trump’s comments have already resulted in hundreds of threats to the office, prosecutors said in a motion Monday. “Defendant has a long history of making public and inflammatory remarks about the participants in various judicial proceedings against him, including jurors, witnesses, lawyers, and court staff,” the Manhattan district attorney’s office wrote. “Those remarks, as well as the inevitable reactions they incite from defendant’s followers and allies, pose a significant and imminent threat

It is starting to look like Democrats are ready to give her the heave-ho to give President Biden another shot at putting a Democrat on the Supreme Court. It sounds like Democrats are none too confident that their guy Joe will win re-election in November. So, to head off another Trump nominee to the majority conservative court, Democrats hope that Sotomayor will take the hint and retire. Will it happen? Nah. It's a lifetime appointment. As I mentioned yesterday in my Sunday Smiles essay, I think the hilarious failures of Google's AI Gemini were one of the week's most important stories. That may seem odd since the first impression that many people get is Gemini's odd preference for portraying Vikings as Blacks, Popes as minority females, and our Founding Fathers as minorities. What could be so important about that? Google will rework the algorithm and the problem will be fixed. It likely already is. Sort of. Gemini's ridiculous--I mean that literally, as it inspired an enormous amount of ridicule--photo generation bias isn't really important in and of itself. AI photos generated by Gemini

Mary Poppins has had its age rating lifted from U to PG because it contains 'discriminatory language' - but the word in question is so obscure you may have never noticed it. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) now considers the 1964 tale of Julie Andrews' magical nanny to be not suitable for children to watch alone, despite the film enchanting generations of youngsters. The reclassification is due to the use of the word Hottentots. The dated term was historically used by Europeans to refer to the Khoekhoe, a group of nomadic herders in South Africa, but is now regarded as racially offensive.
