To the chorus of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' raucous '80s pop hit, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley reached the podium on the 2024 Republican primary night in the state she calls home. The still-strong crowd of supporters began to chant her first name, to which Haley said with a note of affection on what must be a difficult night to remain upbeat, "Y'all are a rowdy bunch, but I love that about you." As we reported earlier, Haley lost the primary, in the state where she served as governor, to former President Donald Trump: Haley began her speech by thanking her family,

Place holder with the thinking they will get rid of Trump and have a stand by ready? If the election is between Haley and Biden, I won't vote for the first time in my life. My older son used to put that scenario to me on many occasions and I'd tell him there would never be a time I wouldn't vote. He's gone now so I can't tell him how right he was.

I know I will not follow the advice #1 posted. YES, I would be VERY UPSET if Donald Trump is not the nominee but not to the point that Joe Biden wins. If I were to follow #1's advice, the Democrats will be rewarded with using ANY tactics they choose to get their candidate to win. . .

My #1 gripe about Pubbies has always been that they are reactive; they never have a Plan B in place as the Dems do. So I think Haley is actually pretty smart for staying in and admitting that her goal is not to change Trump's base into voting for HER; his base is SOLID and it would be futile to try to convert them. She knows that. But she also realizes that he needs MORE than just his base to win and if Trump gets legally hamstrung and has to drop out, she is hoping to be waiting in the wings offering an option to INDEPENDENTS and those voters worried about Joe's mental health. She's staying in NOT because she thinks she can beat Trump...but because she thinks she can beat Biden IF TRUMP CAN'T RUN. The Dems think they have a win-win situation because if Trump is the candidate he's so polarizing that Joe has a chance. But their own Plan B is to legally throw everything possible at him so he'll be forced to drop out. Then they can watch our well-established circular firing squad destroy each other because we have no backup plan in place. Haley's presence is not causing worries for the Trump organization, but it IS giving the Dems a case of nasty heartburn. What's wrong with that?

As others have mentioned, her hope is that if the Dems manage to disqualify Trump in some way, she'll be ready to step in as the candidate; however, I know that DeSantis, at least, did not END his campaign, but SUSPENDED it, which means he (and any others who did the same) could re-enter the race were the scenario concerning Trump to play out. And while most conservatives wanted Trump instead on DeSantis, it's not because most see DeSantus as a bad candidate but because it was not the right time - the people wanted Trump. So now that Haley has made it very clear just who she is, I don't think she should assume no one else would re-enter the race, and that if they did, the people would choose her over another candidate. And given just what a slime she is, if, God forbid, that scenario plays out, I'd love to see her lose "bigly", and would take great joy in realizing how much money a bunch of Trump-hating RINOs spent to keep her afloat.

I think almost everybody suspended their campaigns, so if they manage to deprive the country of electing PDT, it doesn't mean second place (only because she's still in the race) Nimrata automatically gets the nomination. I could see a massive revolt from conservatives if that were to happen. I'm never holding my nose to vote for a traitor again. What's the point? We already see her for who she is; electing her as a Republican anything won't change that. She's screaming who she is, believe her! I can't watch her and you don't hear much about him, so I have to ask. Where's Nimrata's husband?

Like #1, I doubt I'd vote for Haley if by some miracle she is the Republican nominee. She represents everything I despise about the GOPe that talks conservative up to the election, then takes a dive every time the Dems raise raise the faintest objection, and considers fighting the Dems "undignified." I'd rather the country got a snootful of real Democrat policies wrecking our country over Dem Lite masquerading as Republican doing the same thing, only slower.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) could be moving closer to endorsing former President Trump, a nod from an influential detractor that would serve as a powerful message for Trump. Two sources familiar with the situation told The Hill that top lieutenants for the two GOP behemoths — Chris LaCivita, Trump’s campaign manager; and Josh Holmes, McConnell’s longtime top political hand — have held discussions in recent weeks about possibly thawing the freeze in their relationship and paving the way for McConnell to back Trump. “We’ve reached the part of the primary where the party is coming together,” one source familiar with the discussions said.

The real story here is not that Gemini is “biased,” so much as that Gemini lies to its users in a very specific way that will be familiar to many readers.

Manhattan prosecutors are asking the judge overseeing Donald Trump’s criminal case involving hush money payments to impose a gag order to stop the former president from publicly disparaging potential witnesses and others involved in the trial. Mary Poppins has had its age rating lifted from U to PG because it contains 'discriminatory language' - but the word in question is so obscure you may have never noticed it. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) now considers the 1964 tale of Julie Andrews' magical nanny to be not suitable for children to watch alone, despite the film enchanting generations of youngsters. The reclassification is due to the use of the word Hottentots. The dated term was historically used by Europeans to refer to the Khoekhoe, a group of nomadic herders in South Africa, but is now regarded as racially offensive.

First, California came for plastic straws. It did nothing meaningful for the environment, but it made lawmakers feel good — albeit at the expense of consumers. Now, the state could be coming for “single-use cups” at chain restaurants. It’ll do nothing for the environment, again, but it’ll make lawmakers feel good, again. Guess what it will do to your wallet, Californians? According to The Center Square, a conservative publication, Democrat Sen. The first proposal would enforce the RNC by-laws that forbid the national committee from taking sides in a primary. The proposed resolution would explicitly prevent the RNC from coordinating with a campaign until one candidate has won 1215 delegates, which is the number needed for the nomination. "The Republican National Committee must serve as a neutral player in primaries," the proposal reads, pointing to RNC Rule 11. That rule states the national party shall not "contribute money or in-kind aid to any
