Legal Insurrection readers may recall that a state water official delayed the release of water that landowners wanted to help protect their property from fires because water is to be revered and not used. Additionally, Hawaiian green energy mandates may have led Hawaiian Electric to divert fiscal resources away from fire-prevention practices. [Snip] “The 100 individuals that were lost all had families, and we have put together $175 million, if they choose, in a voluntary way, to accept a settlement of $1.5 million that would go to each family,” Green said.

Blood money. People died due to the incompetence and malice of state agencies. I haven't heard what happened to hundreds of school children. Many families were wiped out. And these murderers want to shove taxpayer money at the survivors to make them go away and not bring consequences to the individuals at fault? I hope there is a lawyer out there that can cause immunity to be stripped away from everyone involved and THEN sue the state for more!

Definitely SUE! THIS is how we sink the climate idiocy. It is responsible for KILLING people because funds are diverted to climate and away from critical work needed for safety and decisions are made by climate nitwits that endanger lives. Hold them massively accountable and the next time climate issues come up, businesses will run from them screaming because of the potential financial risk. The FEELZ gain for being onboard with climate issues won't be worth the cost. This is what is happening with EVs. Customers won't buy them and companies are facing massive losses. Trying to placate the government pushing climate is financially ruinous. When climate initiatives fail, make the dopes PAY!

Today is the anniversary of the birth of America’s great or greatest president, Abraham Lincoln. As a politician and as president, Lincoln was a profound student of the Constitution and constitutional history. Perhaps most important, Lincoln was America’s indispensable teacher of the moral ground of political freedom at the exact moment when the country was on the threshold of abandoning what he called its “ancient faith” that all men are created equal.

The awarding of nearly $90 million to the second-rate advice columnist E. Jean Carroll will doubtless be remembered for generations as the greatest miscarriage of justice in contemporary American history. Jean Carroll’s case was not just ludicrous on the face of it, but between the judge, the “experts” who testified, and the mechanisms by which the case even came to be, it’s impossible for any ordinary person in the West to see this as anything more than the continuation of a series of hoaxes perpetrated on former President Donald J. Trump with the desire to keep him from re-entering the Oval Office in January 2025.

A new study finds that human-caused carbon dioxide emissions are driving increased plant growth that’s greening the Earth, even in areas experiencing drought. The peer-reviewed study, which was published in the scientific journal Global Ecology and Conservation, finds that the phenomenon known as “global greening” is an indisputable fact. The rate of global greening has increased slightly, and drought has only slowed, but not stopped, the process. The study, which was done by Chinese and Australian researchers, attributes the greening to carbon dioxide fertilization as well as land management, such as irrigation.
