The United States has halted most civilian firearm exports for the next 90 days, the U.S. Department of Commerce said late Friday. Citing national security reasons, the Commerce Department said the U.S. will largely stop issuing civilian export licenses and will assess the "risk of firearms being diverted to entities or activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities."

I’m most worried about the U.S. government exporting arms around the world.

“activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities.”
Can you say Southern border?

After leaving $7,000,000,000 worth of American military weapons to the taliban, the lefty traitors in the White House are concerned about American civilian arms?
This has to be the worst case of misplaced priorities in history.

'Firearms can still be exported to the 40 countries that are not covered by this Biden gun export ban and then be then transported elsewhere. As usual when Biden and his crew connive for political purposes, it will be the affected U.S. businesses and their employees will end up being hurt.

FTA: "will assess the "risk of firearms being diverted to entities or activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities."
That's pretty rich, given what they left to the Taliban and other bad actors in the icky-stan region. The fed gov causes a problem, then they inconvenience everybody else while they scramble to make their mistake even worse.

Also on Friday, Biden’s Pentagon announced that we are sending another $150 million in weapons to Ukraine. Which means that our long range rockets, thousands of artillery shells and hundreds of thousands of machine gun rounds do not “promote regional instability”.
Or, perhaps the Taliban, in a friendly gesture towards Biden, asked for the weapons export ban because these sales are reducing the resale value of the $85 billion in military equipment Biden abandoned in Afghanistan.

What #5 said; they're trying to break the backs of domestic manufacturers and put them out of business.
Howard Zinn, quasi historian, dismissed founding fathers as smugglers-- outlaws. Moves like this remind us that often smuggling is a moral, laudable enterprise.

That's great, especially after leaving $85 billion of our best weaponry in Afghanistan to be distributed among all terrorists that will buy and use them. Other than that, the vast majority of the world's small arms users buy the AK-47 or its derivatives.
