Soon the skies and runways at airports across the country will be like the Middle East, Afghanistan, Ukraine, NYC, Chicago, California, the supply chain, the economy, and the southern border, complete chaos and destruction. My Uncle was employed by the CAA, which was later renamed the FAA, and retired from that once fine institution and must be spinning in his grave today. The FAA operates under one of the strictest and best Charters of all Federal entities, and has been protected from the oft times political madness attempted by their overlords, the NTSB. Two things need to be eliminated entirely from the Federal government, Color Conscious Hiring, and Civil Service Unions.

As a pilot who has certified an aircraft after building it, and flown my own aircraft all over this country many times for 30+ years, the best line I ever heard was a fellow pilot and aircraft builder who told me that he had heard what the FAA's motto was. "We're not happy, 'till you're not happy." Yep, sounds about right. Some of the FAA people I worked with were sterling folks, genuinely working to keep everyone safe and minimize the 'friction' in the bureaucracy. Others are just bureaucrats, and "friction" is what they do, what they believe in and what they are. I've had a few friends in towers and in the enroute control centers, and the ones I knew were competent professionals. Dumbing down the controllers absolutely WILL get people killed. This is as certain as the sun rising in the east.
