Oh FFS.
The story about why Israel has yet to make a ground invasion of Gaza is becoming clear, and it is yet another embarrassment for the United States under Joe Biden.
Israel has been prepared to enter Gaza to eliminate Hamas, but the ground invasion keeps getting delayed. The reason why?
The US is unprepared to defend US military installations in the area. This is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. However, I am not sure that the Biden Administration isn’t just pressuring Israel to delay for other reasons as well, given their neverending expressions of concern for Gaza.
Israel has agreed, for now, to a request from the U.S.

It is becoming even more difficult to believe Iran's claims that it was not involved in Hamas' attack against Israel. A new Wall Street Journal report has surfaced further highlighting Iran’s role in the planning and execution of the terrorist organizations’ surprise attack against southern Israel on October 7, which started the current war in the Middle East. The report suggests that Hamas fighters, along with operatives from other terrorist groups, received “specialized” combat training in Iran just weeks before the assault.
This revelation shatters any lingering doubts about Iran’s role in bringing about the attack, which killed over 1,000 Israelis, many of whom were noncombatants.

After Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) withdrew from the race for House Speaker mere hours after being nominated by the House GOP, Republicans had to scramble to pick a replacement.
And so they did. GOP Conference Vice Chair Mike Johnson (R-La.) won the latest round of secret ballot voting in the GOP caucus, and, unlike previous nominees Reps. Steve Scalise (R-La.), Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), and Emmer, there is overwhelming optimism that the GOP has finally found a speaker-designee whom the party can all rally behind and get elected as speaker.

According to Variety, a list of more than 400 Hollywood celebrities signed a letter insisting that President Joe Biden “not rest” until Hamas releases the hostages it currently has in captivity. The group of A-listers launched the formal campaign and called it #NoHostageLeftBehind.
The letter, addressed to Biden, was released on Monday and began like this: “We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaanand her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooperand Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity.”

Aaron Sorkin has dropped CAA and returned to WME over a post critical of Israel made by its co-chief of the motion pictures department, Maha Dakhil.
“Maha isn’t an antisemite, she’s just wrong. She’s a great agent, and I’m very proud of the work we did together over the last six years. I’m excited to be returning to WME,” the prolific scribe told The Hollywood Reporter. The writer behind The Social Network and The West Wing had been repped by WME until a 2017 move over to rival CAA.
Dakhil, whose A-list client roster includes Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman and Reese Witherspoon, came under scrutiny for an Instagram repost that referenced “genocide”

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Shiite terrorist organization Hezbollah, convened a summit featuring top leaders from Sunni terrorist organizations Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) on Wednesday, allegedly meant to plan future violence following Hamas’s mass murder of over 1,400 Israelis on October 7.
The Hezbollah-owned Al-Manar propaganda outlet named Nasrallah’s guests as Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ziad Nakhale and Hamas deputy chief Saleh Al-Arouri and called the meeting “highly anticipated” and “monumental” in the jihadist community, as it was the first summit of its kind since October 7.

More than two weeks after Hamas launched a genocidal assault on Israel, resulting in the death of at least 1,400 innocent civilians and the abduction of at least 200 more, former President Barack Obama weighed in with a statement .
And it’s a statement that not only demonstrates the sheer arrogance we endured throughout his administration, but the feckless cluelessness that has now infected the Biden administration’s foreign policy. To his credit, Obama managed to begin with one paragraph that was rooted in reality, speaking of Hamas’s “horrific attack,” which demonstrated “unspeakable brutality,” and America’s “rightly declared solidarity”

Hong Kong — An American politician has been arrested in Hong Kong for carrying a gun into the city, according to a charge sheet seen by CNN, in what he has called an “honest mistake.”
Washington state senator Jeff Wilson was arrested on Saturday at Hong Kong International Airport and charged with possession of a firearm without a license, the charge sheet states, an offense punishable by up to 14 years in prison and a fine of more than $12,000.
Wilson appeared in the Sha Tin Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was granted bail, according to public broadcaster RTHK. The Republican state senator, whose full name is Stephen J. Wilson,

Israel has agreed to delay its impending ground invasion of Gaza until the U.S. can establish air defenses to protect U.S. troops throughout the region.
The Pentagon has requested that Israel hold off until they can deploy nearly a dozen air-defense systems to the region, the Wall Street Journal first reported. The missile deployments, which are expected to be completed in the coming days, are intended to shield U.S. troops serving in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from enemy rockets and missiles. While the status of humanitarian aid available to Gazans and the release of hostages are still national concerns

We are in Day 22 of there being no House Speaker, but for the first time since Matt Gaetz put forward his motion to defenestrate Kevin McCarthy from the Speaker's chair, the vibes, as the kids would say, feel immaculate.
Late last night, House Republicans voted for Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana to be their next Speaker nominee. In the wake of that vote, there was no public dissension. There was no raging, highly critical post from Donald Trump on Truth Social. There was no talk of needing to bring in Patrick McHenry to fill an expanded role as Speaker Pro Tempore. There was a sense of unity among

Hamas terrorists were urged to decapitate and remove the hearts and livers of their Jewish victims during their raid on Israel, as detailed in a handwritten note found at the scene of the horrific attack.
The note contains words of encouragement from Hamas commanders declaring the religious importance of massacring Jews wherever they are found.
It further draws lessons from historical Muslim leaders who massacred men, sold women and children into slavery and decimated cities across the Judeo Christian world. Israel’s Government Press Office set out the contents of the note in a statement, saying:

Opposition to mass migration is rising even faster in Chile, Sweden, and Germany than in the United States, according to a large international survey by USNews.com released Thursday.
Voters “from Denmark to Sweden to the United States – are cooling on support for immigration amid a global migration crisis,” says the report on the survey of 17,000 people across 36 countries.
“There’s somewhat of a negative consensus among receiving countries … that immigration laws need to be hardened,” admitted Cristián Doña-Reveco, an associate professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
