This year’s Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their work on mRNA vaccines, a crucial tool in curtailing the spread of Covid-19. The Nobel Prize committee announced the prestigious honor, seen as the pinnacle of scientific achievement, in Sweden on Monday. It praised the scientists’ “groundbreaking findings,” which the committee said “fundamentally changed our understanding of how mRNA interacts with our immune system.” Karikó and Weissman published their results in a 2005 paper that received little attention at the time, it said, but later laid the foundation

Seems appropriate. Alfred Nobel was the inventor of dynamite, a "groundbreaking" discovery in the same sense.

I'd say that this is some kind of a joke but it's been obvious for years that the Nobel Prize organization went over to the dark side many years ago and now serves the interests of liberalism. When someone like Obama gets a Nobel Prize for international diplomacy when he clearly he did nothing to further international harmony it's time to disregard anything the Nobel organization supports.

Once again, the Nobel Prize is proven to be a sad, sick joke. At least when they gave it to The Zero, he hadn't yet actually harmed anyone. Now they give it to people who harm millions. Ineffective shots, not vaccines, which didn't prevent the disease, didn't prevent spreading the disease, and which have harmed millions are NOT a good work, they are horrible. We don't even fully know the extent of the long term harm these hideous shots have and will continue to cause.

The jury is still out on not just the effectiveness but also the long-term safety of mRNA "therapeutics" (NOT "vaccines"). A recent article on follow-up studies in Australia, for example, indicate that mRNA may in fact have unexpected effects on native DNA, with a resulting change in the human genome. Until all such objective studies of the long-term effects are conclusively completed, I believe it would be wise to delay any large-scale uses of mRNA therapeutics, and especially in young children.

Who was it who said of the Palestinians that they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity? You could say the same of the Republican Party. Then there is the adage, attributed to Napoleon, that you should never interrupt an enemy when he is making a mistake. The Republicans violated that one today, too. By rights, the Democrats should be in disarray. The Biden administration has been a disaster, as pretty much everyone knows, regardless of what some loyalists may tell a pollster. And yet it is the Republicans who can’t get their act together. Once again, they have bailed out the Democrats with an idiotic vote to oust

McCarthy lit into his colleague from Florida, indicated that he would not run for the speakership again, said the eight Republicans who voted against were not real conservatives, and even hinted he might resign from office altogether. Watch: Despite the extreme setback, McCarthy remained optimistic: 'I will not run for speaker again,' McCarthy said in a nearly hour-long press conference that veered from combative to laugh filled. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) successfully led a coup against now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday. He managed to eke out a “win” by rallying the entire Democrat caucus and eight Republicans to oust him. It’s the first time that has happened in U.S. history. And it’s a total clown show. Not only does it distract from the already tense budget negotiations, but it makes a laughingstock of the GOP—and the U.S.—and gives Democrats even more leverage to push through their radical policies. Gaetz got a win, but at what cost? Sure, he’ll raise a lot of campaign money from this—he’s already sending out emails and asking for money on Fox News

That rule applies to basically every organization, from the federal government to universities to corporations. And to the Big Tech corporations testifying in the federal government’s antitrust suit against Google, the first big monopoly trial in a quarter-century. Google has spent the last couple of decades hoovering up everyone’s private information for its own use, but it wants to make sure the public knows as little as possible about what it’s doing to the public. Normally in litigation like this, all sorts of information about the defendant’s business practices would come out.

An exercise in bluff-calling, a real showdown … or a case of extended adolescence? Perhaps today’s vote in the House will combine elements of all three — if it happens at all. Kevin McCarthy told House Republicans this morning that he plans a vote in the first series this afternoon on Matt Gaetz’ motion to vacate, potentially reopening the leadership election nine months after Gaetz and his allies lost it: This seems like a totally great fight to have right in the middle of a presidential primary, and just at the same moment that Joe Biden and Democrats are plumbing the depths of approval ratings.
