Conservative author and talk radio host Mark Levin slammed Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) over his bid to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), saying McCarthy is “more conservative than” Gaetz.
Gaetz filed a motion to vacate the chair on Monday, marking the first official step in an attempt to remove McCarthy from his speakership.
As Breitbart News reported:
The House must vote within two legislative days on the motion itself or on a separate motion to table or dispense with it.
Gaetz has threatened to bring the motion for weeks if McCarthy brought a stopgap spending bill to the floor that required Democrats to pass, as McCarthy did Saturday after Republican holdouts blocked

Levin is right. Unfortunately, we live in an era now when the more bombs you throw, the more “conservative” you are said to be.

McCarthy is not conservative at all. I never got into him, but what happened to Levin? It seems like he bailed on conservatism after Rush left us. McCarthy just did what conservatives thought he would do to stab us in the back (front even), and we're supposed to continue acting like he's one of us when we know he's not. Gaetz may have issues, but he's doing what they agreed could/would/should be done to Carthy "when" he got out of line. That was the deal McCarthy made to get the position; he knew he wouldn't stick to it, and he knew the Pubs wouldn't either (even the conservative ones). Our side can't be that naive, but we keep getting our butts kicked by known and proven liars, deceivers, and con artists. It's so bad we don't even believe the real conservatives are conservative. No one can be trusted these days.

I don’t understand all the attacks on Gaetz. He is articulate, coherent, and lays out his reasoning with logic and facts.

because of Gaetz's vendetta, we missed out on an 8% cut in spending. he and his ego are a public enemy. but i understand is fundraising is way up so there you have it.

Democrats are praising McCarthy for reaching across the aisle to vote with them on the spending bills to prevent a government shutdown. McCarthy caved. He didn't have the "cahones" to stand against the Demons.

Anyone who fantasizes that Congress cuts spending is stoned or delusional. Gaetz has laid out his reasons for calling the vote. It is clear that McCarthy gave the Big Middle Finger to Americans as he appears to have broken every promise he made in order to obtain the Speakership. I knew that he was a bought and paid for Deep State mule because he wanted the position too much.
I'm sick of all the lies, the Never Trump crowd, and all those that think the status quo will save us. Those who support these criminals must have a seat in the bunker. Bad times are coming; strong men will rise; and the landscape will be littered with the bodies and debris of their avarice and need to enslave others.

Hey, Mark! Your Rino slip is showing. While I agree with Levine on many things, Kevin McCarthy is not a conservative. He is not even an honorable man who keeps his word. McCarthy knew what he promised and he is reneging. Typical politician. All they want is power anyway they can get it. Promises mean nothing. It’s all about protecting themselves and their little fiefdom. Where are those J6 videos, Kevin?

I was an infrequent listener to Mark's evening show over the years but pretty much ignore him since he first attacked Donald Trump on the use of tariffs against our enemies like China then Mark came around (ratings?). But his unhinged screaming is tiresome and annoying. Sure Mark - let's keep kicking the can down the road on cutting spending - as if you're worried about your SS, etc. Always an excuse as to why we can't do that this year. And he isn't much better than Biden and McConnell on his obsession with Ukraine.

It seems that almost everyone at Lucianne has drunk the Trump Kool-Aid. So now, even Mark Levin, the most articulate conservative voice is branded as a Rino. Absurd.
This is not conservatism, folks. It's a suicide cult. By the thinest of margins, we currently have control over one half of one third of the government, and you expect major results? With Trump on the ticket in 2024, the 53% of voters who will never move his way will ensure his defeat. I know, you say we have to fix voter fraud, and I agree. But you can't fix it until you win in spite of it.
There are viable candidates for 2024, but Trump is not one of them.

Rush was truly our conservative voice of reason. His wise insight into people and occurrences was without parallel in broadcasting. His sharp perspective of their potential purpose & possible impact was prescient. His ability to organize his thoughts & articulate them in his uniquely clear, simple and concise manner did exactly what he claimed - it made the complex simple.
It was as though he took our own feelings about given situations and expressed them in common sense terms that made us thankfully say, “Yes! That’s exactly what I believe about it!” He was a uniter and a genuine inspiration. The complete knowledgeable, smart, fun, lovable package who truly was talent on loan from God.
Rush is so very missed and needed today! I will always love him & be thankful for him, & wish he was still here with us.

I think Gaetz is completely reasonable.
It’s tough to be held accountable to your promises. Poor McCarthy.
Levin is wrong. He has been wrong before.
But here — if he’s afraid of splitting the party and losing ground, surely there is a different message he could send rather than shriek stupid accusations about Gaetz not being conservative. Because that is ridiculous on its face.

The calls to shutdown the government remind me of the hollow warning we used to see on these pages from self-proclaimed patriots issuing warnings of watering the tree of Liberty with the blood of would be tyrants. Those calls went silent when the tyrants got up in the faces of Americans to do their tyrannical deeds, particularly involving our school children. If our government and its many agencies can do without funding, then why do we care who our next president will be? All temporary shut-downs accomplish is a worsening of our debt, along with the political fallout over who is really to blame. At the end of the temporary shutdowns, federal workers receive their back pay from any missing paychecks, as what occurred during the 2019 shutdown when Trump was in office, the longest shut down in U.S.history. Even my favorite, President Reagan, caused the initial government shutdown by vetoing a funding bill that lasted a few days but in the end, had no lasting conservative impact on budgetary matters. If neither Reagan nor Trump could effect positive change by "braving" a shutdown, why would anyone think McCarthy shutting down the government in the year prior to a very consequential election, perhaps the most consequential election in most of our lives, is a good idea. Scoring ideological points has minimal value when your actions yield no tangible benefits in the pursuit of bedrock fiscal conservatism. But that is not want what Gaetz is apparently after. He appears focused on taking down McCarthy and is depending a lot on the strange chicness of McCarthy bashing, like some form of cool teenager social media crusade to "cancel" McCarthy.

Mark Levin really likes his job at Fox, and has become a Murdoch toady. Levin provides nothing but rants about fighting. But when anyone actually does stand and fight, he opposes them. Gaetz is a conservative, a courageous one, very articulate, and a lot of ugly people like Levin are jealous of his good looks.
Fox has been on a nonstop mission to condemn Gaetz. All this is more attacks on a fellow Republican, far more vicious than they have attacked any Democrat. When have you ever heard a McConnell or a McCarthy say anything as spiteful against any Democrat? I am done with Levin.

Okay posters who think Gaetz is a true conservative, and Levin is a Rino, it looks like you got what you wanted. Now please tell me who should be the next speaker of the House? Do the five now in charge have someone in mind. My prediction is the House will soon be in the hands of the democrats.
