Former President Donald Trump made an appearance at an agricultural fraternity house on Saturday before the annual Iowa-Iowa State football game between the Hawkeyes and the Cyclones where he was seen flipping burgers and throwing footballs.
Videos surfaced on X, the platform previously called Twitter, that showed the former president flipping burgers at the Alpha Gamma Rho agricultural fraternity.
Trump also signed footballs before tossing them out into the crowd at the fraternity.

The executive director of the George W. Bush Institute, who organized a letter from presidential libraries calling for national unity, previously leaked the now-debunked Steele dossier to reporters during (the) height of the Trump-Russia collusion investigation.
David Kramer, who worked in the State Department under President George W. Bush and was an associate of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), pushed for the foundations and centers of former presidents to sign a letter about unifying the country.
However, in 2016 Kramer provided the Steele dossier to BuzzFeed, which published it without corroborating its allegations that then-President-elect Donald Trump was a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The left has to have scapegoats to prop up its sagging Jan. 6 “insurrection” narrative, and so Joe Biggs of the Proud Boys has just been given seventeen years in prison for his actions on that fateful day, which involved nothing more than tearing down a fence. If one guy removing a single barrier can bring the government of a superpower perilously close to being overthrown, we’re in bigger trouble than we thought. Biggs would be the first to tell you that we are, but not in the way that the leftist elites want us to think.
The Post Millennial reported Wednesday that Biggs explained the objective behind his sentence,

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Fifteen seconds. That’s how long it took to turn Texas from an underachiever to a threat, from a program in the wilderness to a program that’s legitimately back.
With 14:05 left in the fourth quarter, Texas was down against Alabama, 16-13, behind for the first time all game. Three plays and 15 seconds later, Texas was up 27-16 and in firm control.
Alabama can attest: Texas is, most definitely, back. A "College GameDay" appearance plus a 6 p.m. local time kickoff meant the entire town had plenty of time to throw Horns Down at anyone daring to wear orange within Tuscaloosa city limits. Downward-facing horns showed up

If you’re a California resident and a parent, you really ought to leave the state now. On Friday, the California Assembly passed AB 957, which means that a parent who doesn’t “affirm” their child’s “gender identity” could lose custody of that child.
AB 957 amends the state Family Code to include “a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity or gender expression as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child.”
The bill is now headed for Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk, where he will most certainly sign it.
A recent comprehensive study found that there is no medical benefit for young people to receive so-called “gender-affirming care.”

I’ve reported on the Arizona-Mexico border for a long time, and recently published a novel about a ranching family battling a drug cartel trying to take over their ranch. But for on-the-ground grit and realism, it’s hard to match the account of a Border Patrol agent who works the line every day.
Early last month, a friend began sending me emails written by an agent who risks losing his job if his identity becomes public. But what this whistleblower sees every day is endangering the country he loves, and he has to speak out.
Here’s part of his email for August 12:

Oil prices are surging again, but the Biden administration's biggest weapon for bringing them down has much less ammunition.
Last year, the federal government drained 180 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as oil prices soared in the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the turmoil in energy markets that followed. Flooding the market with all that supply helped bring oil prices down — and helped cool inflation, which had shot up as well. Earlier this year, the administration took some steps to start refilling the SPR. But while it has ticked up slightly, the level remains near

The University of Colorado football program over the years often contended for the Big 8 title. It was the home of great athletes like Kordell Stewart, Darian Hagan, Eric Bieniemy, Rashaan Salaam, Dave Logan and Cliff Branch.
But it fell on hard times the last few years. Last year, they finished 1-11, lost their last four games by an average of over 30 points, and fired the coach.
Then they did something bold. They hired a guy whose coaching experience was limited to several high schools, one of which was plagued by scandal, and then a historically Black college that played second division football.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday that the Biden Administration likely violated the First Amendment by influencing tech companies to censor content on the coronavirus and elections.
The ruling also removed restrictions “on the departments of State, Homeland Security and Health and Human Services and on agencies including the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency,” according to the Washington Post. The appeals court found that those agencies and departments had not coerced social media sites to censor content.
Still, this is a huge victory for free speech, and the court was specific and breathtaking in its criticisms.

During Donald Trump’s norm-shattering 2016 campaign, he famously promised to “drain the swamp,” referring to the concentration of power and the penchant for corruption among Washington’s political elite and bureaucratic class.
The highlight of this effort was probably when Trump sacked FBI Director James Comey a few months after he became president, ostensibly for botching the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private server and leaked emails, though it was really an attempt by Trump—as he admitted—to quash the agency’s investigation into frivolous claims of Russian election interference.
That decision was the tipping point in the events that led to the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel

Once upon a time, it was very fashionable to refer to critics of "sanctuary cities" as racists or "racista." We had a big debate back in 2017 when Governor Greg Abbott signed legislation that would also allow police to inquire about the immigration status of people they lawfully detain. It was a wild debate, as I recall, and calling someone a racist was very much in fashion. What the heck, I was called a "racista" on a Spanish-speaking TV interview. What did I do to earn that?
